But Tuesday's just as bad

Rick Santorum was hilarious on gun laws last night on CNN. He actually argued - as a conservative principle - that rather than sitting around expecting others to fix their problems for them through a new law, they should go out and take responsibility for themselves and learn CPR. That is not spin. That is what he actually, really said.

Snail wise, pretty big.
What does it mean?

Jon Ericson said...

Ah! a metaphor for Jeff Sessions.

Are we sure that’s a snail? I’m thinking maybe Stormy Daniels’ left pupil throwing a peace sign.

Maybe in 100 years we'll all switch to an all-purpose "yur." All this mixing up re "you're" and "your" (and, sometimes, "you") is a waste.

IMHO.

Yes Full M,

I did figure that out.

Also, I did notice that you meant "whispers" facetiously.

Anywho, thanks for the clarification. But, I'm almost gonna graduate grade 3, so I don't not not need so much help.

Carry on.

Museum? Isn't it more appropriate in a government office building?

Speaking of deadwood, I was waiting at UNC podiatry this morning and overheard idle staff discussing attending various Christian denominations and sub-denominations. I wanted to tell them to try the Foot-Washing Baptists.

The Germans have (or had) a pejorative epithet for the French, based on the latter's love for eating snails.

The Germans have another word closely related to both snails and to Stormy Daniels (or parts thereof).

These guys are on it. They are, as you presciently point out, ahead by a century.

Fraying. That's the word, yes, fraying. I think the narrative is fraying. That little patch you can feel on your favorite clothes where you can't see anything wrong but you feel it just before a hole bursts out. "Omigod, it's fraying," you think, "My Bosque del Apache T shirt with the blue heron is fraying right at the heron head. Soon it'll be gone. I won't want a headless heron on my body. I don't, I won't, I, just don't think about it." I think the left can feel the narrative fraying. Trump Will Go - that legend had a great run - it went everywhere and lasted like Carhart pants. But it's fraying. And the left is unravelling with it. Getting kind of silly - watching Stormy Daniels and Little Boy Blue-State in hopes they can carry forward an attack on the US president. A porn star and an kid excited by being on TV. Really?

Also, re that band reference, there is a great documentary on Netflix called ‘Long Time Running’ for those who like music documentaries. Even if you don’t it’s a great story. Their frontman was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer and the film documents their last tour, essentially a celebration and goodbye for fans.

"for those who like music documentaries."

I'm currently having a house built where we're putting in a several dozen 8k screens (not that there's much content).

Now that normal people are having music and lighting controllable as they move through their homes (though on a very rudimentary level re what ballers are doing, e.g. the house "knows" who you are and where you are, adjusting appropriately), I'm moving to crazy level video (and the actual structure that adjusts, withdrawing and hiding screens, when desired).

Anywho, ya can't outsource a this sorta work. So = MAGA!

Sprezzatura said...

IOW,

I like having video of all sorts (incl Net documentaries) seamlessly follow me as I move between this, that and movements (IOOW, a bathrooms w/ up to seven (concealable) screens = good times).

Too much sitting and watching stuff is for folks w/ too much time on their hands. Except when you need to sit, regularly.

IMHO.

@Althouse, usually you take better pictures than this.

the 4chan Guy who reads Althouse said...

I'm checking out 4chan like I normally do, seeing what crazy shit people are up to. So, yes: there's crazy shit, but then I head back to Althouse and I read the following:

"Where sex is not an even sex-for-sex exchange, it's either on the prostitution spectrum or the rape spectrum."

And I gotta say, that's a pretty 4chan thing to say. Unless it means something other than what I think I'm reading, and that happens sometimes when I read Althouse, I don't even realize that I should probably be confused because I think I understand it all right.

I'm thinking this is kinda like math, so I'm trying to figure out if these two spectrums are separate, or if they are an x-axis/y-axis kinda thing. Like the hot/crazy matrix. Because I think if you combined the hot/crazy matrix with the prostitution/rape matrix you pretty much have all sex covered.

Or at least all straight sex covered. Maybe gay guys have this matrix, too, but it seems like it mostly applies to chicks. Like I said, it's pretty much a 4chan view of things, really. And when you have pictures on 4chan of chicks spreading their ass cheeks and showing their asshole you can kinda figure out where they are on the hot/crazy/prostitution/rape matrix.

But even just the hot/crazy thing can get difficult. Because you could see some chick that's hot, but then you find out she's really a dude, so you think, she's not hot, she's crazy, but that kinda seems unfair. But what if you find out that she's a dude only after her cock slips in your ass: is that rape? I mean, even if the chick-dude is a prostitute?

So the hot/crazy/prostitution/rape matrix would be useful there, even if I can't quite figure out where to put that one on the graph. But maybe Althouse was making a different point, and I just didn't get it. I like this spectrum shit, though: I was pretty good at math, except I could never get straight if zero was a real number or not.

Gee, whatever happened to that China Trade War?

Here today, gone tomorrow I guess.

And that North Korean threat to annihilate us? Hmmmm. That one has disappeared too.

And the use of NAFTA frameworks to allow additional penetration of US markets by state subsidized industries in other countries? Not. No. Mo.

It's a good thing the media doesn't want to talk about these things. Too dangerous.

Life on Earth is in peril for many reasons. You can bury your head in the sand, as is your wont. The GOP is a disaster for life on Earth.

Perhaps you should feed yourself to the sharks and decrease the overall peril....though I shouldn't wish that for the sharks.

They deserve better.

I was going to watch Ben Hur tonight and comment on it, but I got caught up in watching the old David Lean film Doctor Zhivago. It is good, but I think it would be incomprehensible to anyone born after 1980.

Probably because they want to give Trump some space to work in. Yeah, that's the ticket!

I just watched a movie "Paris Can Wait." Written by a woman, directed by a woman, lead character a woman. But you know what the whole movie consisted of? A beautiful woman who is swept off her feet by a wealthy Frenchman who basically wins her over by spending the entire movie mansplaining French culture to her, high end, expensive French culture. It was kind of interesting, given that it was written and directed by women, that the moment she really started to get sexually interested in the guy, who was maybe sixty, and no romcom dreamboat, BTW, that moment was communicated by her looking at his hands.

It is too bad romcoms are so retrograde, maybe that is why I really like the form, and why it seems so important to the white left to destroy it.

Trump is currently claiming that he did not have sexual relations with that woman, Stormy Daniels.

It's possible, I guess, but it would be of some interest to hear a convincing explanation as to why she was paid 130K to remain silent.

Do not do that all-caps thing again. It's unreadable. I will delete in the future.

Also don't put in extra paragraph spaces, including putting a third paragraph break when going from paragraph to paragraph. Attention-getting formatting is not permitted, other than normal things like italics and some boldface (but not putting your whole comment in boldface).

Use your words to hold readers, not special trickery. It looks bad and it's on my website. If you want to do formatting stuff to get attention, take it to your own blog. I don't want to see it here and will delete.

In fact, I will delete it now.

Maundy Thursday is approaching, after all. :)

Hands and forearms are crazy sexy to women. Well, on the right man, anyway. Ask Mrs. Tim; she'll back me up on this :) Someone asked on reddit some time ago what random non-erogenous thing or mannerism that women find sexy but men would be surprised by, and someone said when an attractive man rolls up the sleeves on a dress shirt which was upvoted a zillion times. Hubba hubba!

Well that explains something. All of my older brothers and even guys I knew in high school were always asking me how I got such a hot girlfriend, I always did that sleeve thing. Maybe they were surprised though because they didn't think I was attractive enough to get a girl like that, now I know what pushed me over the top! I even got beat up by a senior when I was in ninth grade because he was trying to impress her! Big mistake, it just made her like me more, to take a beating like that for her. I din't even fight back. I didn't know how to fight. He probably left thinking "What does she see in a loser like that?" Forearms, sir! Forearms!
