But Daniel Fierro of Cerritos told POLITICO that in 2014, as a 25-year-old staffer to Assemblyman Ian Calderon, he was groped by Garcia, a powerful Democratic lawmaker who chairs the Legislative Women’s Caucus and the Natural Resources Committee. He said she cornered him alone after the annual Assembly softball game in Sacramento as he attempted to clean up the dugout. Fierro, who said Garcia appeared inebriated, said she began stroking his back, then squeezed his buttocks and attempted to touch his crotch before he extricated himself and quickly left....
[And a] prominent Sacramento lobbyist says she also accosted him in May 2017... at a fundraiser hosted by Governor Jerry Brown for state Senator Josh Newman at the de Veres bar in Sacramento. He said he was heading out the door in part to avoid the assemblywoman... She spotted him and said,“Where are you going?” the lobbyist said. “She came back... She looked at me for a second and said, 'I’ve set a goal for myself to fuck you.'"
At that point, Garcia “stepped in front of me and reaches out and is grabbing for my crotch,’’ he said. That was “the line in the sand,” according to the lobbyist, and he stopped her. “I was four inches from her, eyeball to eyeball -- and I said, ‘That ain’t gonna happen.’”

"California Assemblywoman Cristina Garcia — whose high-profile advocacy of the #MeToo movement earned her national media notice — is herself the subject of a state legislative investigation in the wake of a report that she sexually harassed and groped a former legislative staffer."
Politico reports.

I googled "I’ve set a goal for myself to fuck you" to see how original that line was. The internet says it's original.
They never think the guillotine can be used for them as well until they're in the trumbel heading to it, thinking, hey, I'm one of the good guys!
I like Sarah Hoyt’s books* and I liked her comment on this case: perhaps she merely misunderstood what they meant by “Me Too”!

It's two men now though the second one is unnamed. I detest these arrogant hypocrites
"It's two men now though the second one is unnamed."
Yes, and I hope my post made that clear.
She will plead that she has an alcohol problem brought on by past abuse and she wasn't really aware of what she was doing but that if she did do it she was just acting out because she was a victim. A 30 day rehab and tearful non-apology and her ilk will forgive her. But she needs to move fast for that to happen, though she does get extra time and points because she is a CA Latina.
She was confused about what #metoo meant.
BAKE THE CAKE!
JML said it all. Sadly the California media is going to let the Hispanic offenders slip out the back door unidentified “for personal reasons” . Because “D”.
The ones you never notice are the ones you have to watch
She's pleasant and she's friendly while she's looking at your crotch
And try your hand at conversation gossip is a lie
And sure enough she'll take you home and make you want to die
Fair Game
And you're fair game
You'll never know what she'll decide
You're fair game
Just relax enjoy the ride
Take a look around you tell me if you see
A girl who thinks she's ordinary lookin' she has got the key
If you can get close enough to look into her eyes
There's something special right behind the bitterness she hides
Find a way to reach her make yourself a fool
But do it with a little class disregard the rules
'Cause this one knows the bottom line couldn't get a date
The ugly duckling striking back and she'll decide her fate
Not wise, Latina.
But she helped pass the Legislative Staff Whistleblower Protection Act!
Perhaps her brain left off half a word.
When setting goals for yourself, you need to take a really hard look at yourself in the mirror, and not shoot too high.
Maybe she believes women can't sexually harass men, just like people of color can't discriminate against white people (or it can't be called racism if it is against whites).
Of course, if it is somehow different, it makes genders unequal. All of our leaders and stars are hypocrites, well at least 95%.
The settle it between yourselves rule would work nicely here too.
It's not a public problem.
Dear Penthouse. I was cleaning out the dugout and you want believe what happened next.
Calling clumsy drunken come-ons "sexual harassment" is laughable (but it sounds so dramatic!), but it serves her right for getting involved in the "metoo" witch-hunt.
Steve Hsu has a Rogan/Pinker conversation briefly addressing these witch-hunts, "virtue signalling" and the phenom of denouncing others before you're denounced.
That was “the line in the sand,”...
Not hot enough? Cuz, men can't be sexually harassed, or so I've been told.

Recall the Demi Moore movie where she sexually harassed and then raped Michael Douglas (Disclosure, 1994). Garcia is no Moore.
And how great was the late Michael Crichton? He wrote Disclosure.
Nevertheless, she persisted.
Yikes! I googled her picture, and she's not pretty. She's got the militant social just warrior vibe too.
isn't surprising these accusations are coming out. If she was hot no one but her two new boyfriends would know she's a groper.
I googled "I’ve set a goal for myself to fuck you" to see how original that line was. The internet says it's original.
Much earlier uttered by Groucho Marx to Talulah Bankhead, in slightly different form.
True Gender Equality!
Stones unexpectedly hit glass house.
I’ve said it before. Anyone who thinks that men, especially White men, wont be ferocious players of the identity politics game, must be utterly ignorant of both human nature and history. Leave the matches on the table and we’ll happily elbow you aside to light the fires we want to set.
Where's #IngaKnew?

A long time ago, I had a friend whose boyfriend (a looker) had briefly worked as a male stripper when he was just out of college. (Good money, but he left that particular job off his resume.) He said the most aggressively grabby, lewd women he encountered were the plainest ones. When I think back to the few hen parties I attended that featured male strippers (God how I loathed those things, and the worst thing about them was how you had to grin and go along with it or risk being thought of as a killjoy), I'd say he confirmed my observations.
I've never been in a "gentleman's club" that featured female strippers but somehow I doubt men are permitted to grab boobs and ass in the same way I've seen drunken women grab male crotches and butts.
I need more popcorn.
While I appreciate the hypocrisy of promoting the #MeToo movement while yourself being overly aggressive with the opposite sex, I still can't help but feel the same way about these flimsy accusations as I do many of the others by women against men.
Were these men even the least bit harmed? I see nothing that suggests that they were.
Accuser #1: "she began stroking his back, then squeezed his buttocks and attempted to touch his crotch before he extricated himself and quickly left" So nothing harmful happened before he left when he realized she wanted something he didn't.
Accuser #2: "Garcia “stepped in front of me and reaches out and is grabbing for my crotch,’’ he said. That was “the line in the sand,” according to the lobbyist, and he stopped her. “I was four inches from her, eyeball to eyeball -- and I said, ‘That ain’t gonna happen.’” So again, nothing happened, the man was fully equipped, and did, extricate himself from the situation before he was "harmed."
If they truly felt assaulted, why didn't they go to the police? Or maybe, they really weren't "assaulted;" they were just "hit on" by a drunk woman, who they now see an opportunity to disgrace publicly.
And how do we even know any of this is true since they didn't go to the police immediately? They proffer no corroborating facts, just their hyped up story about how she hit on them because she found them attractive while drunk.
Many on the left have potential employment at movie theaters because they are masters at projection.
Why do these guys want the publicity?
Maybe they dined out on a funny story and it got to reporters.
What goes around... comes around.
Karma.
At that point, Garcia “stepped in front of me and reaches out and is grabbing for my crotch,’’ he said. That was “the line in the sand,” according to the lobbyist
More precisely, the line in the sandlot.
Or maybe, they really weren't "assaulted;" they were just "hit on" by a drunk woman, who they now see an opportunity to disgrace publicly.
Drunk or sober, no difference. Men — real men — look down on men who get drunk and can’t control themselves. Women are overdue to do likewise. Learn to control your drinking, ladies.
What's sauce for the goose, Florence....
Those guys were lucky Garcia did not accuse them of assaulting her, when they rejected her. That's how it happened in probably the earliest recorded workplace sexual harassment, when Potiphar's wife made moves on Joseph (Genesis 39:7). Joseph also did not report her conduct after he rejected her, and she was the wife of his employer (or owner, as he was a slave). As with current practice in some campus tribunals (kangaroo courts), Potiphar's wife remains otherwise unnamed though not necessarily anonymous. No indication Joseph defended himself from the false charge.
“Can’t the Marx Brothers be arrested and maybe even tortured for all the confusion and problems they’ve caused?”

"She was confused about what #metoo meant."
Maybe she has the common problem of not understanding even the simplest concepts of grammar, such as gender.

Ralph L at 6:56 AM: That's perfect.
Still no #IngaKnew...
Yes, sauce and goose.
When a movement goes overboard, it almost always redounds on the strongest supporters. If I were someone like Ezra Klein, for example, I would watch my mouth.

If they truly felt assaulted, why didn't they go to the police? Or maybe, they really weren't "assaulted;" they were just "hit on" by a drunk woman, who they now see an opportunity to disgrace publicly.
Alternately-- If they [The women we've been reading about for the past several months] truly felt assaulted, why didn't they go to the police? Or maybe, they really weren't "assaulted;" they were just "hit on" by a drunk MAN, who they now see an opportunity to disgrace publicly.
In fairness, the second guy was dressed as a lobbyist, so he was totally asking for it.
I wonder if she's got a wide stance.
Honestly, so many of these powerful people just need to stop getting fucked up around their associates. It's like they think their power is all privilege and no responsibility. YOU'RE IN CHARGE. ACT LIKE A LEADER!!!
#HeToo
Oh, bilge. If she'd threatened someone's job or something, I could maybe see this as a problem. This is just some more of that male = female bullshit.
