How sweet! It's amazing how aerodynamic birds are considering their ultralight structures. They can hang onto a branch in the fiercest of winds.

Red-naped sapsucker.

Probably raised by somebody and is tame.

Looking for a handout.

I raised a baby robin from eyes-closed, and he hung around for a couple months asking for blueberries.

I'd guess downy or hairy woodpecker, whichever is the smaller, those being very common.

Or else a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker.

I am Alecia used every single spell worker on the internet, spent untold amounts of money and discovered they are all fakes…i was the fool though; doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. In the end, I decided that I wanted a tarot reading to know what my future held for me;

Now THAT'S entertainment!

We used to get birds on the sailboat all the time. Some were out as far as 20 miles and had probably gotten tired.

Then, we would get flying fish at night all the time when we were sailing in Mexico. Plus little squid. We would get so many in the job that we started calling it the "Squids'l."

Malconfigured Interrupter. The vocalizations give it away. Or it could be a Plum-bellied Pastafarian.

I can't tell you how many times I've been awakened way too early by those little fuckers.

There is a regular, ongoing slaughter of migratory birds and especially songbirds in Chicago. It's close to/part of the Great Lakes Flyway, and the tall, glassy buildings can be invisible to them at night. Even worse, with interior lights on at dawn and dusk, an attraction. There are maintenance people who will know places at the base of certain big buildings where there is a daily collection of dead birds.

Big windows are always a problem to birds, Chuck. We used to lose a few hummingbirds every year and several of other species,as well. Surprisingly, their little beaks never broke, just their necks. :-(
