My wife went to church early to help set up, but I figured how hard can it be.
Well I snipped that little sucker on the first try, and kind of stabbed it with some toilet paper to see if it was bleeding. Yep, the toilet paper was soaked in blood.

Crap! Now I break out the first aid kit. Crap, all the big gauze is gone.

Speaking of lights, one of the peripheral young relatives in Northern California has a pretty decent little grow operation. Extra income, has a full time job. Thanks, Chris Buck
Philosophy is the central axis of the logical domains. Whether it is science, fantasy, or faith, all logical domains are constructed from and intersect with the philosophical domain, where speculation about life, the universe, and everything begins, ends, and recycles. Then there is the twilight fringe, that is neither logical nor probable yet viable, which is selective and opportunistic. That's where abortion rites, science, fantasy, and faith are reconciled or created.

Tablet magazine published an article on April 10 about how Paul Manafort smuggled large amounts of money out of Ukraine. The article is based on an interview with Ukrainian Parliament member Serhiy Leshchenko. He explained:
[quote]
Now what I have is documentary confirmation of that accounting compiled in the shadow-accounts department of the Party of Regions [former President Yanukovych's pro-Russian party]. The evidence of the payments shows that, as we always surmised, Manafort received money to an account in America, but he did not receive it directly from the Party of Regions.
We now know that he received the money from an offshore company in Belize, which was tied to accounts in Kyrgyzstan. With this account in Kyrgyzstan, money was transferred to his main account in America, in US dollars, through a correspondent account in Commerce Bank. ....
I know simply that first and foremost, he received funding from Yanukovych. It was dirty money, which was laundered by corrupt officials from our budget; this money was paid through illegal money-laundering schemes and fraud by electronic transfers through Khyrgiztan.
... he [Manafort] received funding from Yanukovych. It was dirty money, which was laundered by corrupt officials from our budget; this money was paid through illegal money-laundering schemes and fraud by electronic transfers through Khyrgiztan.
Emphasis added.
What Manafort was doing in Ukraine was laundering money for top Ukrainian officials who thought they might be overthrown.
Manafort was working primarily for President Viktor Yanukovych, who had been elected legitimately because practically all the ethnic Russians in Ukraine voted for him. The election was certified as valid by international election-watching organizations.
Despite Yanukovych's legitimate election, Ukrainian protesters in Kiev overthrew his government by means of months-long disruptions of public order. The protesters were encouraged and helped by the Obama Administration.
Figuring that the Ukrainian protesters eventually might overthrow the Government, Yanukovych and his political party -- the Party of the Regions -- hired Manafort to smuggle large amounts of embezzled money abroad. That was Manafort's essential work in Ukraine.
Manafort was working against Russian interests. Russia wanted Yanukovych and his party to stay in power in Ukraine, but Manafort was enabling Yanukovych and his associates to flee and re-settle comfortably in the West.
I speculate that Manafort also negotiated with the US Government to provide US asylum to Yanukovych's people in exchange for abdicating peacefully.
This is why US Intelligence was studying Manafort. In 2015, Manafort ended his activities in Ukraine and soon began working for the Trump campaign.
US Intelligence received some information about Manafort's Ukrainian activities from the United Kingdom, Poland and Estonia. However, those three countries stopped sharing such information in the summer of 2016.
This was the same time when Trump fired Manafort as his campaign manager, after Trump received a US intelligence briefing about Manafort.
I took my family to see the Nats v Phillies today in the hot afternoon DC sun. Harper hit two homers. Beautiful stadium - they really have spruced up SouthEast DC, lotta new apartments & commercial developments.
Baseball is such an odd game. Like many, I grew up playing catch in the street with my Dad, so it got embedded into my DNA at an early age - along with his childhood stories of the glorious Brooklyn Dodgers of 1955. But it is hard to watch 3 hours of mostly inaction.
I took my Dad to a SF Giants game about 15 years ago, and we ran into Willie Mays - while my Dad was wearing his ubiquitous, beat-up Brooklyn Dodger hat. Willie saw the hat, did a double-take, and said, "I bet you wouldn't wear that at the Polo Grounds". My Dad was speechless, couldn't talk, just grinning ear to ear. Swear to God, that's a true story. My one brush with the great Willie Mays.
It was dirty money, which was laundered by corrupt officials from our budget; this money was paid through illegal money-laundering schemes and fraud by electronic transfers through Kyrgyzstan.
Carter Page -- who was the subject of a FISA request in July 2016 -- was employed around that time in justifying Central Asian governments (e.g. Kyrgyzstan) to Western governments.
Also around the same time, Page was advising the Trump campaign. However, I speculate that US Intelligence was studying Page not because of Trump, but rather because Page might have been involved in helping Paul Manafort smuggle embezzled Ukrainian money through Kyrgyzstan to the West.
[quote]
... Carter Page, spoke Thursday [July 9, 2015] in Moscow, and the main theme of the talk was that Russia and China have more successfully pursued their interests in Central Asia ....
... "nakedly emotional approaches to news, often involving expressions of opinion and lacking verification of factual assertion" typified "mainstream western discourse" on Central Asia.
This has led to an “often-hypocritical focus on democratization, inequality, corruption and regime change" in Central Asia, he argued. ....
By contrast, "China and Russia have focused on concepts of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit; they've also focused on tolerance and and an emphasis on access to resources and increased capital investment," Page said. ....
Page did not mention Trump during the talk and issued a caveat that his ideas did not represent "other people or organizations I might be working with at the present time." ...
Ukraine has problems. Serious problems. Yanukovich was dirty. So was Tymoshenko. It is fascinating to go into the crazy world of the Left on Ukraine. All of the lefty websites eagerly promote the idea that Manafort is the key to proving the US election was corrupted by Putin and Trump. There is no evidence of this. Nothing at all. Instead they do the conspiracy theorist thing of drawing imaginary causal actions from the thinnest of connections. They make leaps that amount to: "Manafort had dealings with Ukraine. So did Putin. Therefore Putin put his mad h4xor skilz to use and gave Trump the presidency of the United States." Yes, they really believe this. Fervently. They think that you are crazy if you you have the slightest doubt that this is true.
Yes, early 80's, and then after I retired from military I worked for them at the B-2 Software Lab in Oklahoma as a contractor.
I was at Boeing in Seattle. As you know, the aft-center-section (the bomb bay) was built at Boeing. I did the weapons avionics simulator. This was the test bed for the weapons delivery system. I learned a lot about weapon delivery. There were stories about phasing weapon delivery to enhance the ground wave....which I thought was genius.
If you are described experience you may be ideal to answer this question. What degree of complexity, with what results in performance and cost, would be likely if you tried to turn a 7x7 into a bomber with internal bomb bays and weapon carriage leveraging its enormous capacity? Say the kc-46 turned into a gunship or BAMS or Missileer?
How hard would it be to manage the pressure in some way within the aircraft? A C-130 does it. With some kind of airlock bomb bay or just to run the whole rear of the aircraft unpressurized? what kind of changes would be required? Everyone snarks that you would be better off designing from the ground up spend your billions that way, but... Skeptical, as a Hostess would say.
"It is fascinating to go into the crazy world of the Left on Ukraine. All of the lefty websites eagerly promote the idea that Manafort is the key to proving the US election was corrupted by Putin and Trump. There is no evidence of this. Nothing at all."
How can you write this with a straight face!? WaPo has receipts demonstrating that Paul Manafort order and ate Chicken Kiev on at least two occasions in the last decade. In addition, it has been reported by reliable sources that Manafort was always trying to take The Ukraine when playing Risk while cackling, "The Ukraine is weak!"

Although I am not a dedicated Ingaologist, unlike much of the Althouse commentariat, I think you actually make a better Inga. The old one used to get a bit drunk at night.
He wanted to hide away from the world. The inconspicuousness of the house is consistent with the plan.
It is also consistent with poor taste. A gambrel roof with a giant chimney in the middle? Inconspicuous like a '76 Pacer with a vinyl roof is inconspicuous.
Inga said... I've heard tell she had many cats and pretended they were her children!
Again, I lack the deep abiding interest in this topic that many of our colleagues here at Althouse share, but my impression was that this was not the case.
Like you, Inga talked a lot of s***. Why don't you just name yourself Legion and be done with it? But Ann, if this one isn't to be counted as trying to ruin the blog, I don't know what is.
"But Ann, if this one isn't to be counted as trying to ruin the blog, I don't know what is."
It's a back and forth problem. Both sides bear responsibility. I sometimes delete, but if you see the problem, resist making it worse by responding to the personal interaction. Get back to the substance. Don't allow yourself to be baited.

On my Facebook page I posted an annotated photo album I made about the sarin bomb that was exploded in Syria on April 4.
The bomb was not dropped from a Syrian Air Force airplane, and the Syrian Government had nothing to do with the bomb.
The bomb was hand-placed into the middle of a street and then was covered with a couple sticks of dynamite that were blown up.

Fabulous research. If you have the time could look into Lois Lerner and the IRS/Tea Party stuff?
Ukraine has problems. Serious problems.
Yanukovich was dirty. So was Tymoshenko.
It is fascinating to go into the crazy world of the Left on Ukraine. All of the lefty websites eagerly promote the idea that Manafort is the key to proving the US election was corrupted by Putin and Trump.
There is no evidence of this.
Nothing at all.
Instead they do the conspiracy theorist thing of drawing imaginary causal actions from the thinnest of connections.
They make leaps that amount to:
"Manafort had dealings with Ukraine. So did Putin. Therefore Putin put his mad h4xor skilz to use and gave Trump the presidency of the United States."
Yes, they really believe this.
Trump thought a MOAB was good enough.
Happy Easter, anyway. Christ is Risen.
He is risen indeed.
Dear madAsHell,
If you are described experience you may be ideal to answer this question.

The house is a non-entity. Might have belonged to a Canadian curling champion. Our American "elites" are an embarrassment. They seem to have reached their level of highest competence teaching high school kids that George Washington never told a lie.
@Lewis
Why is that embarrassing?
He wanted to hide away from the world. The inconspicuousness of the house is consistent with the plan.
Inga said she is Unknown99, not Classic Inga.
That should have been obvious to anybody. I believe that Classic Inga commented once on election night, before it became obvious that the corrupt old harridan was going down. This new one is just the latest incarnation of Unknown Troll.
Hillary is a termagant, not a harridan but a termagant. Sometimes the mot juste escapes one first thing in the morning. ... Who am I kidding? She's both!
It's Boston Marathon Day! This is bigger than the Super Bowl to me. Great American contingent running this year. Good weather. NBCSN covering on live TV. About to go for a little run myself and then enjoy the spectacle.

It is a genuinely bizarre this obsession with Inga.
I agree with you, it's not even the real Inga. It's almost as bizarre as your obsession with Milo.
I confess, I'm not the real Inga. The real Inga sure must've gotten to you people, so much so that you still discuss her at length. What a gal! If I were the real Inga I'd be so proud! Would the real Inga please start commenting again? If she does, I'll go back to being Unknown#99. Thanks Inga, please consider it.
Chuckling....
Whatever happened to that nice young man Milo?

Really? That is indeed odd.

Why don't you use your Google powers and get back to us.

Although I am not a dedicated Ingaologist, unlike much of the Althouse commentariat, I think you actually make a better Inga. The old one used to get a bit drunk at night.
Whatever happened to that nice young man Milo?
He's hanging out with Anthony Weiner.

It is also consistent with poor taste. A gambrel roof with a giant chimney in the middle? Inconspicuous like a '76 Pacer with a vinyl roof is inconspicuous.
Tsk, tsk. So the classic Inga couldn't hold her liquor, huh? I've heard tell she had many cats and pretended they were her children!

Again, I lack the deep abiding interest in this topic that many of our colleagues here at Althouse share, but my impression was that this was not the case.
Like you, Inga talked a lot of s***. Why don't you just name yourself Legion and be done with it? But Ann, if this one isn't to be counted as trying to ruin the blog, I don't know what is.

It's a back and forth problem. Both sides bear responsibility. I sometimes delete, but if you see the problem, resist making it worse by responding to the personal interaction. Get back to the substance. Don't allow yourself to be baited.
