From the Facebook post:

To him, it is obviously Trump supporters who drew the swastikas.

Because Hitler.

Trump seems to be many adults' Slender Man. Boo. Or Sie Heil. Whichever.

The Trump hate is thick in that facebook post and I see it in other facebook threads. I had to block a guy yesterday. First time I ever had to do that.

Trump has certainly set off the left.

I had my doubts about him and still am uneasy with his twitter stuff but he is the last chance, I think, for our culture to survive.

Only a guy who is that outrageous and, lets face it, rich enough to pass up the donor class, could do what he is doing.

I read the other day that, of something like 10,000 Muslim refugees that entered one country (can't recall which) only 24 had gotten jobs.

Well considering that Trump's son-in-law is Jewish, and Trump actually ended a "no Jews allowed" policy at a country club he purchased, then if it was a Trump supporter, it was a pretty stupid one.

The complete obliviousness of the fact that unthinkingly calling Trump supporters Nazis is itself a form of prejudice is par for the course.

As a Trump supporter I just want to say, the hell with those people.

I agree but this goes back to 2000 and that recount. I think the left went nuts then because the election was virtually a tie and, unlike Senator Franken, they could not find enough votes to get a win. The similarities are impressive. Bill Clinton had been president for eight years and he had swung hard left under the impeachment crisis. They had what they wanted and then Gore failed to deliver the mail.

This time was so similar. Obama had ruled as a lefty for eight years and Hillary was supposed to take over.

This election was not as close as 2000 but, of all people, Trump !

I don't see them giving up unless they are spanked hard in 2018.

And they may be. Even Megan McArdle is trying to warn them.

Of course, at the point when the political heat has gotten too hot, and swing-seat senators are coming under pressure to break the filibuster, they might not have Neil Gorsuch to kick around any more. They might be looking at a nominee who makes them long for the halcyon days of a well-credentialed Scalia 2.0 if they get Trump’s dander up. And that vision should make them shudder.

Personally, I think we will see as many as three Senators change parties by 2018.

Americans do not generally support discrimination through [class] diversity (i.e. "skin-color" based discrimination) nor do they generally support denying life unworthy through abortion rites. Americans do not generally subscribe to the Pro-Choice quasi-religious/moral philosophy. They do not support social justice adventurism to force demographic redistricting and redistributive change (e.g. refugee crises). Americans do not generally support labor, environmental, and other regulatory forms of arbitrage (e.g. insourcing, outsourcing, immigration reform). They do not construct congruences to force normalization and selective exclusion. They do not support monopoly formation and practices by an authoritarian minority. I wonder how many support Planned Parenthood and other corporations that profit from both abortion rites and clinical cannibalism.

This is a toothless threat. The right wing judges vote as a bloc with Kennedy rarely deviating from this bloc vote. They are interchangeable units. Republicans could just program a robot to make the decisions. It is just partisan politics played out on a different stage.

ARM, this is clear projection on your part as the D-leaning judges always do this and the R-leaning judges sometimes differ. Even aside from Kennedy who is either a coin flipper or playing for whatever door prizes there are on the Supreme Court.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2015_term_opinions_of_the_Supreme_Court_of_the_United_States#2015_term_membership_and_statistics
Kennedy sided with the majority 97.5% of the time,
Kagan 94.9%
Breyer 93.8
Roberts 91.3
Ginsburg 87.5
Scalia 83.3
Alito 82.1
Sotomayor 81.1

The least likely to side with the majority, and the Justice responsible for submitting more than twice as many opinions as any other, was Thomas at 72.5%.

Due to the erratic spacing of letters employed, I read the graffiti as “Jews be long in the oven.”

Maybe they thought Jewish children take longer than nine months to gestate.

Not sure where they got that information. Maybe they think it takes longer for the nose to fully form.

My main take on this: someone wrote this hoping the expected scorn would be directed at the enemy, but they also agree with it, anyway.

This is a false flag operation by anarchists or Democrats. When Trump becomes anti-Jew we can expect him to tell his daughter and son-in-law to get out of the White House because they are Jews.

Quaestor said...

The graffito is automatically deemed anti-Semitic. But is it? Why? Because of the swastika? If someone writes beware of this symbol and follows with a swastika, is he being anti-Semitic? Or has he issued an objectively true warning?

In this case, the vandal has scrawled his message over a map of the NYC Metro Area, Brooklyn, mostly. Is that significant? It often is. The message is crude and written in African-American patois, Jews be... It is racist to assume the vandal is a Jew hater because he is apparently AA, or posing as same? Maybe he's not a vandal. Maybe he's issued a sincere and objective warning. Brooklyn is filling up with hipsters, a uniformly proglodyte group, many of whom affect Palestinian keffiyehs as scarfs, symbol of intense Death of the Jews! anti-Semitism. NYC as a whole is under the thumb of a self-professed "progressive" who has offered the entire city as sanctuary to any foreign Muslim able to come — not a good sign for the Jews of New York if one is frankly honest. That's like inviting child molesters to live next door to a kindergarten. Maybe the graffito is less anti-Semitic than the persons seeking to obliterate it.

“Sadly, not everyone can be a winner, Phoebe. As a loser in the Second Round I think you know the next question.”

“Unfortunately, I do…”

“That’s right! It’s time for you to answer the question: Swastika or Bukkake?”

“Is there any way I can say neither?”

“That’s not how the game works, Phoebe. For losing the Second Round you must either submit to Our Swastika Tattoo Gun, or you must enter The Swastika or Bukkake? Bukkake Ring.”

“What if I had just a tiny Swastika tattooed somewhere where no one would see it?”

“Aw, Phoebe: you know the Swastika must meet the size requirement of two inches, and it can only be on the forehead, the forearm, or the butt.”

“This IS difficult. I’m Jewish, and the skin on my face is very sensitive to semen.”

“That IS a Dilemma, Phoebe. You have Thirty Seconds to make your decision, or we will poll the Studio Audience to make the Decision for you.”

“I can’t make the decision: let the audience decide, Bob.”

“Okay, audience, you heard Phoebe: she is Jewish, which makes a swastika tattoo even more problematic, but her facial skin is sensitive to semen, which might make Bukkake more uncomfortable than usual. Please push the appropriate button on the back of the seat in front of you…”

Ding!

“The Audience has spoken, Phoebe.”

“Oh no…”

“Yes — and 83% want to see your Forehead under Our Swastika Tattoo Gun!”

“I guess I won’t need the hand-sanitizer and tissues I brought…”

“Oh Phoebe: you might want to keep the tissues: I suspect there is going to be some crying in your near future…”

It had to be left-wing agitation. Right-wingers never indulge bigotry. Like that Richard Spencer guy, for instance. Perfectly nice guy. Who says, with arm outstretched in fascist salute, Hail Trump! Hail our people! Hail victory!

Definitely nothing anti-anyone in any of that. He is definitely a credit to the Trump movement and a shining example of how "identitarian" politics is the peaceful way forward for America: The "all-white" America that he envisions.

But I know, look a squirrel. The right wing is perfect and we cannot and must not look at things like this. Look away! Look away! Look away! Dixieland.

I would submit that Trump is probably the least antisemitic president we've ever had.

Tony Schwartz, who wrote Trump's "autobiography" Art of the Deal, says that Trump's ok with Jews who are successful lawyers or financiers. But the rest he's got just as much contempt for as he does anyone else. Likewise, says he's cool with very muscular, powerful black athletes. The rest he hates. That's Trump. Hatin' on everyone unless they're the best of use to him.

He really baffles you guys, doesn't he? You really think he's that hard to get. Behold right-wing leadership. Let's make chief dealmaker seem so much more mysterious than he is. All "truth" has to be filtered through their delusion of what makes them look good or bad. What they are really scared of is losing power. In 2000, they thought they had it wired. Bill Clinton was popular in spite of Monica and impeachment because the stock market. Gore was mister smooth and Bush was obviously a hick.

Then the election tied and Baker moved fast enough that no car trunk of votes showed up in time.

Mass hysteria. The Supreme Court threw out the leftist FL supreme court attempt to change the rules by a vote of 7-2.

I think it was a mistake to stop the counting but nobody knew the Democrats would be psychotic for 20 years after.

Then Obama wins on the basis of Iraq war weariness. Plus, of course, the economic consequences of 20 years of CRA and house flipping.

Then, after 8 years of Obama paying the left max deference, Hillary loses to, of all people, Trump !

More hysteria. Why ? Because the Democrats need government like oxygen.

What are they going to do ? Get a real job ?

The data you quote literally runs counter to what you think it means. Kennedy is the one justice on the right most likely to vote with the 4-judge liberal bloc to form a majority in that manner- in other words, in closely divided cases, you would expect him to have the highest percentage of being in the majority for a decision since he is the most likely to provide the fifth vote either way.

As for Thomas, he and Scalia both do/did tend to provide the dissents on cases where the majority is 6 justices or more. With Ginsberg and Sotomayor, they are just on the losing side more often because Kennedy does vote with the conservative bloc quite a bit more than he does with the Progressive bloc.

3. Probably get more publicity in these places.
4. Anonymity of densely populated areas decreases potential accountability.
5. Big population increases the number of viewers and incentivizes the perps.
6. Diverse population is a target rich environment.

Since the election every case of swastikas of which I am aware and where the perpetrators have been identified has fallen into one of two categories: Dumbocrats painting the swastikas as an anti-Trump protest, or mischievous teenagers, particularly teenagers painting the swastika on a school in the hope (expectation?) that the school will be temporarily closed. Every. Single. One. Seems unlikely that this will turn out to be different.

Yet my Jewish friends all blame Trump supporters. They go totally berserk. They keep staring off to the right for the threat, while the BDS movement and anti-Semitism disguised as anti-Zionism or pro-Palestinianism is sneaking up on them from the left.

Perhaps you could try context and reading comprehension.

I was pointing out that the word choice of the headline in question could be seen as a slur against Jews, which I believed was intentional: the headline had "Jews buzzing" and I said "Just hits my ear wrong..."

One: You might want to save "antisemetic" for someone who actually dislikes Jews;

Two: It is "anti-semitic" with an 'I', not two 'e's. Nice try with sounding it out, though.

Three: it took you twenty-two minutes to find even THAT quote. Of course, you probably had to whittle through all my old "I'm fucking Scarlett Johansson" comments. Of course, she is Jewish, too. So maybe you can play with that for awhile.

Here's a link to a database of hate crime hoaxes:

http://www.fakehatecrimes.org/

They are not limited to the Left. There have been morons who fake hate crimes against themselves in order to blame BLM, like a NY firefighter who set fire to his own house. Skimming through the list though, it looks like the majority of them are hoaxes perpetuated by Muslims. Muslim women seem particularly eager to set themselves up as victims.

There was a swastika drawing incident:

"Boy arrested in Esperance swastika graffiti spree / Boy, 13, determined to have acted alone. Not motivated by bias toward any individual or group. Was familiar with the symbol from a video game and "chose it because it was easy to draw." / 2017-01-06"

In the NY subway case, I'm thinking it's probably not a kid, because of the Holocaust reference. Thanks to our educational system, most kids probably can't tell you when WWII occurred.

My favorite:

"Police say a Volusia County man faked a hate crime, set his ex-girlfriend's car on fire and then staged his own abduction to throw off detectives.

Vincent Palmer, 27, told detectives he taped a note with racial slurs and the words "KKK" and "Trump" written on it to his ex-girlfriend's mailbox early Saturday before throwing a brick through her car window and dousing the back seat in gasoline because they were having problems over the custody of their children, according to an arrest report."

This place is an echo chamber. Criticism of Trump is forbidden, or considered unworthy.

I'm sure you'll all soon pick up his habit of calling it "betrayal." Or, you know, "treason." Whatever.

Instead you shift to voter suppression efforts, how to move to a one-party system, Muslim stuff, and oh yeah, your favorite (an obsession?): Politics itself.

Far bigger threats than some guy who is running his white supremacist organization...

Xenophobic over-reaction IS a threat. It turns practical, political, security-minded moves into stupid, ideological struggles over demography and other potential trivialities. It alienates law-abiding Muslims and reformers. It alienates informers. It alienates allied organizations and movements and pro-US militias and freedom movements in the Arab world. It substitutes fears for realities. It indulges Trump's desire to be the great demographic savior of Europe. Let Europe worry about Europe.

That's the way xenophobia always works. As a distraction. It is contrary to our security interests, which are a bigger concern than what some dude listened to before killing some guy, some where, at some far-off point in time, for some obscure political cause, with a pipe bomb. Or by a stampede. A stampede killed people at a Rolling Stones concert once, back in the day. Maybe we should put them on the terrorist watch list also.

Grow up. Get real. This country has serious business to do. Fear is no way to run it. You're letting fear rule you. And Trump counts on that.

Wishing to control our borders and have some say over who comes here is not xenophobic. For Chrissake, Trump has never said he opposes all immigration. The Left deliberately removes the distinction between illegal and legal immigration and then cries "xenophobia!"

When you consider that Malmo, Sweden is now the rape capital of Europe, with almost all of those rapes being committed by Muslims, that Paris feels like a city under occupation with soldiers and cops everywhere and that a majority of British Muslims favor Sharia law, it's not "xenophobia" to recognize that Islamic culture is incompatible with the West. Individual Muslims certainly can be worthy people. But Islamic culture as a whole is poisonous and is destroying Europe. I don't want us going down the same path.

As for our southern border, well, Dems want Hispanics here because they want votes. Republicans want them here for cheap labor. I question the wisdom of letting huge numbers of unskilled laborers enter at a time when unskilled jobs are being automated.

The individuals dismissed from Trump's NSC include Obama drones, who are not missed because their "expertise" has landed America in shooting wars with five to seven Middle Eastern nations, depending on how one counts "kinetic military engagements". Trump also dismissed the Joint Chiefs of Staff, who have their own meetings with him.

Hey, Big Mike, what are Bannon's creds compared to those of 38 year old aspiring novelist Ben Rhodes, who put his fiction writing skills to work to cut a deal with Iran?

"In the spring of last year, legions of arms-control experts began popping up at think tanks and on social media, and then became key sources for hundreds of often-clueless reporters. ‘We created an echo chamber,’ [Rhodes] admitted, when I asked him to explain the onslaught of freshly minted experts cheerleading for the deal. ‘They were saying things that validated what we had given them to say.’"

One of the “overarching plotlines” Rhodes crafted credited Hassan Rouhani’s election in June with signaling a new willingness of Iranians to negotiate that the Obama administration then embraced. Obama, of course, would play the hero; the villains, however, numbered in the thousands, like the cast of “Ben Hur”: neocons, and those darkly loyal to Israel’s interests; partisan Republicans; knuckle-dragging warmongers, and other enemies of the peace."

This spinner of tall tales now sits on the Advisory Board of the Holocaust Museum, which might have to add a whole new wing if Rouhani gets his way.

When you consider that Malmo, Sweden... Paris... and that a majority of British Muslims....

Thank you for confirming what I suspected. You've elected Donald Trump to lead Europe through this troubled time. But I didn't notice that job up for election on the ballot in November. I voted for the job of American President. You know, because I'm an American and that's the job I get to decide on. I sure hope the European leader you elected for a European job doesn't let you down. What could go wrong? We only spent over a decade fighting for the soul of the Middle East. Hopefully your priority in trying to fight for Europe's future will turn out better.

I question the wisdom of letting huge numbers of unskilled laborers enter at a time when unskilled jobs are being automated.

So touching that you think it's a matter of timing. I guess at other times, it just wasn't a big deal.

Well, I call him the "so-called president." You know. Because that's the language he uses to describe REAL judges.

But other than that, thanks for basically admitting that you're ok with politicizing the NSC, that you think it should be led to political ends - since that's Banyon's primary job.

Obama made a deal which puts the Jewish state in great danger,...

Yes, Jewish states will definitely be saved by pre-emptive wars to keep countries of 77 million from becoming nuclear powers. I know that's worked really well in history. We bomb or go belligerent with a country and that keeps it from getting better weapons, let alone going nuclear. How could they refuse? So, either that or we just invade, occupy and regime-change it. Iraq was only 20 million people so if we could pull off that one so easily I'm sure trying the same stunt with country of a four-times larger population will be no biggie. All so that about eight million Jews and the Arabs allied with them can thank us for deciding the outcome of the great Sunni-Shia divide. No one will resent that and everyone will thank us for it.

It's even worse than you say. Not only was Obama endorsed by the CPUSA, Rev. Wright, and Bill Ayers, he was endorsed by three out of four white supremacist groups Esquire asked. I've linked to "Why White Supremacists Endorse Barack Obama" before, but it's worth linking again: the Imperial Wizard of the Imperial Klans of America endorsed McCain in 2008, but the Director of the White Aryan Resistance, the Chairman of the National Alliance (a lot nastier than their name implies - see link), and the Chairman of the American Nazi Party all endorsed Obama. Meaning what? That the endorsements of assholes are utterly irrelevant to any sane person's choice in an election. Of course, you already know that. If Romney had paid the KKK to endorse Obama, would CC have voted for Romney? I don't think so.
By the way, the one black supremacist they asked, "Yahanna, General, Israelite School Of Universal Practical Knowledge", endorsed McCain because Obama wasn't black enough for him. Proving, once again, that endorsements are bullshit. (Yahanna's likes and dislikes: "Likes: Segregation / Dislikes: White oppressors, black women, American culture, Muslims, Christians, Martin Luther King Jr.".)

Science is based on skepticism.

Not on a skepticism of reality.

The reality is your side is lying, making up evidence, and persecuting whistle blowers.

The church of climate change has been manufacturing a crisis in order to justify a bureaucratic takeover of the world economy so Steyer can make another billion selling windmills that don't help anyone. You can't explain how a 50 part per million increase in CO2 has more of an affect than greater amounts of methane that are far more green house causing. You can't explain why there is a positive feedback loop between temperature and increased CO2 levels that will turn the earth into Venus despite obvious evidence to the contrary.

You are creating your own reality. It is pathetic.

Graffiti like this is ugly but not threatening - it's more likely the result of some drunk teenager than a campaign of intimidation by an organized group of Jew-haters. What's threatening are bomb threats - over the past two weeks, something like 50 Jewish community centers around the country have received telephoned bomb threats, often forcing evacuations and other actions in response. The FBI is apparently now investigating but so far no perps have been identified. Of course, these threats could just as easily be from a Palestinian supporter as a Neo-Nazi, so the left doesn't really care about them.

Yes I can explain why melting the very tundra containing greenhouse gases leads to more of those gases being released into the air to retain more heat. A fucking 5th grader could explain something so simple. Lol. I CAN'T EXPLAIN positive feedback. You're hilarious. Sounding like O'Really, now.

But go ahead and keep confusing your defense of Exxon Mobil and OPEC's bureaucratic hold on the world economy and any actual science. The earth doesn't have to be like Venus to kill off 90% of current species and make the coasts containing 90% of human habitation like Bangladesh. You are a hyperventilating shill who confuses reality with your need to keep billionaires from allowing technology to advance and with a hold on an economy that's bound to transition to more direct (i.e. RENEWABLE) energy resources, no matter what you were scared into believing by the propaganda outlets that specialize in the irrational and other forms of ignorance.

I'm done talking about this with you about this garbage. It's simply one plank of Puppet Trump's Doom and Gloom Agenda. Go talk to the scientists who've been subject to a muzzling on this topic by your Russian president wanna-be.

Why do people always use the swastika when they can't think of anything else?
Where I live, I've seen a few graffitis where they are visible to the public, near roads. On powerline transformers, for instance. The graffitis are widely space, in different areas, and the style is a little different for each them. I don't think the same person is doing them, but they are the same symbols: a swastika and an erect penis.
I imagine some young punk, hiding in the bushes at night, waiting for the headlights on the road to disappear. He's got a can of paint and maybe a minute to do his dirty work.
So he faces his blank canvas, tries to think of something that will draw the eye and be objectionable, and be easy to mark out with a can of spray paint. And the punk usually comes up with the same symbols: a swastika and an erect penis. Why?

Speaking of global warming and methane, I've heard that cows are a serious problem. Why don't we mitigate the CO2 emissions by feeding all the cows Beano and then we don't have to change our lifestyles so much?

Bleach Drinkers Curing Coronavirus Together said...

I don't need to convince anyone of anything. If they're gullible enough to believe that corporate lobbyists can change the realities of geophysics, then they're too far gone for me. I don't try to convince flat earth believers, either.

But other than that, it's nice that you want your scientific realities to come at you gently, non-threatening, and in a way that indulges your self-esteem. Yes, you are a good person! No matter how little you know of something! Don't let those mean scientists make you feel less all-knowing than you would perceive yourself to be! You are still the wisest, neatest, funniest apple of your parents' eyes! And you get a gold star for participation! We'll make those glaciers stop retreating! Who says that they're more important than you are!

Bleach Drinkers Curing Coronavirus Together said...

...change our lifestyles...

How on earth did the operations of a utility company become "a lifestyle?" No one cares where they get their energy from, as long as the lights stay on. Personally I get mine 100% renewable. You did know that it gets converted back to electricity all the same, right?

Further, it's easier for a consumer to put a windmill or panel on their property than it is a smokestack. Ever think about that? Hmmmm. They can even profit or save off of it through further decentralization of the grid. These things are pro-consumer. Whenever right-wing people talk about being pro-market, I always know they mean pro-big corporation and anti-consumer.

Bad Lieutenant said...

Believe It or Not, CC, I realize that you were taking it easy on me, and I appreciate it, because I despise rancor.

Renewables can and are making a contribution, but are still far too variable and even if overbuilt, we lack a power storage mechanism sufficient to replace the steady load borne by fossil and nuclear power resources. (I'm big on hydro, but apparently that is environmentally unfashionable and we are tearing out dams.)

Meanwhile NIMBY and BANANA are everywhere. Did they ever get those offshore windmills built that the Kennedys opposed? Of course this also makes fission and fusion power development more difficult. (I still insist on the importance of these technologies because even if you could scratch out a living on the surface of the dirtball here on used french fry oil, you're going to need nuclear power to take us to the stars.)

Plus which, until and unless we have sufficient power galore to transform elements into chemicals that we need, we're still going to need half the current consumption of fossil fuels just for petrochemicals - plastics, resins, pharmaceuticals, fertilizer, chip masks, all that.

Not to mention that while electric vehicles are fine for the limited applications now contemplated, we're a long way away from, say, a pickup truck or even a sedan that will do 500 miles at five below, then re-energize in 5 minutes. On a physics basis it really annoys me that a hybrid or electric vehicle, whatever it's putative Energy Efficiency, is typically much heavier then the same auto with ICE.

So, although maybe this is not the central point that you're trying to make, we're going to need a comfortable supply of fossil fuels for the next 50 to 100 years. And we will be putting a bunch of it back in the atmosphere as CO2, NOx, etc.

So I think it's harmless if not wise to look at alternative strategies for mitigation. Carbon sinks, carbon sequestration, and yes, if it makes sense to reduce methane emissions, or if even possible to control water vapor. It seems like you want to reduce consumption of fossil fuels as an absolute good, for its own sake. Like, if you could take all that alternative energy and store it by, say, turning it into gasoline, you would reject that because it is immoral to burn gasoline. Which would seem to be harmless if, again, you mitigated any effect on the environment.

Also, the renewable technologies or not trivial and their effect on the environment when you consider the entire life cycle. Lots of rare earth in that picture. Lots of pollution mining, or else we can farm that out to China, and then pay their price and walk their line to get it.

Also, and you may attack me for this, I'm not wholly convinced that we can extract infinite renewable energies without some impact on world climate. Is it possible that we might take out so much of the atmosphere's energy through windmills that we could affect climate in that way?

Finally as to backyard solar and wind, I think that those wicked old economies of scale are going to continue to mean that, ceteris paribus, it's mostly going to be a good idea to have big central plants. Just like it makes more sense to have gigawatt coal/oil/gas plants than for everyone to get backyard generators. Where it makes sense, like out in the sticks where nobody wants to run any more lines, it will be done or it's being done.

TL, DR: we're not there yet, the path is unclear, and we need all the tools in the tool kit.

I have no rancor toward you buddy, BL. Most of what you write I agree with to some extent. Without doing a point-by-point, I basically see that this is all part of an overall transition. There are economic reasons for it, but I still put the ecological need at the forefront. Economies couldn't exist prior to agriculture and settled human habitation, which a stable climate made possible. If we allow access to all the tools, let's accept that the growth is toward the renewables - and if they're disruptive, as new challengers tend to be, I think that's to be expected. The outcomes will be better. We can continue improving on their own impact. Aside from mitigating toxicity and other externalities, this will include better storage, which is being investigated: Metal hydrides, etc. Elon Musk stuff.

Oh, and fuck the Kennedys. Put the windmills wherever the wind power's greatest.

By the way, not to spoil the mood of comity, but while I'm appreciative of elements of your posting above, I happen to be pretty firmly convinced that the major player in the climate is in fact solar activity-yes, yes, I grant that the advances in technology are potentially worthwhile and desirable anyway, and I understand about the precautionary principle, although that cuts both ways-and that if the sun turns against us, we really could either zero or double (or 10x) all greenhouse gases and still be in major freaking trouble. See https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fallen_Angels_(science_fiction_novel) for a reasonably intelligent treatment.

http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2017/02/climate-science-rocked-by-another-scandal.php

Try to explain why Argo ocean buoys and satellite data, which cover the entire earth, were rejected in favor of non-global, non-standard and downright flaky measurements, such as:

The ocean buoy data was rejected in favor of the old-fashioned way, which was to dip buckets into the sea and take the water's temperature! Yeah, that'll do it!!

Then explain why NOAA, NASA and other government agencies "adjusted" historical data downwards, and more recent data upwards, to make it look like the hockey stick.

Then tell us how these same agencies can claim to know "global temperatures" down to the tenth of a degree, when they have almost NO DATA for the poles, or for much of Africa and South America.

Or how about this: none of the models has correctly predicted the future. NOt even close!!

It just went to the government directly and that was good enough for you.

Lol. wattsupwiththat.com. I'm sure they do your science homework for you to. wattsupwiththat.com. Talk about a name that advertises its lack of seriousness.

There are serious lobbyists out there, Jay. They do the disinformation campaign much better than you do, I"m sure. Hell, even hired the same lobbyists Phillip Morris used to deny the cigarette-cancer link. They're way ahead of you. Once you have to put on a suit and tie to sell your disinformation, then we'll talk.
