... writ large....
"Simon Beck is a snow artist who creates huge designs in the snow by simply walking in a pair of snowshoes... This short documentary by Flash Studio follows Beck's preparations for a piece he did in Stryn, Norway, on a day of good snow."
Lovely photography. Settle in and watch to the beautiful reveal in the end.

Another childish idea of drawing in the snow is the one only boys do.

Obviously you've never stood outside The Pickle Barrel or Million Dollar Cowboy Bar after midnight during ski season.
It's a shame the founders didn't include being able to write your name in the snow as a constitutional requirement for President.
Althouse, Thanks for the link. The first two minutes were as interesting as the ending.
Flash is dead. The Internet shuns it.
Ignorance: In this political climate, I will bet Hillary could manage to prove her ability write her name to the satisfaction of whatever board is tasked with certification.
AA: I am impressed with the artist's ability to conceptualize the lines, spaces and angles required to complete the project. That's impressive spatial awareness.
This kind of process to reveal reminds me of the tape art by Max Zorn. My nephew got to film him doing a large piece, his video is the second one at this link.
Frank Zappa's "Don't You Eat That Yellow Snow" would add a bit of color to the art.
Jim Denevan's work has some similarity.
Here is a work in snow on Lake Baikal.
And work in sand.

By "boys," I include men, but if you're talking about women, then let me know.
A crop circle.
CStanley,
Thank you for your link as well.
I suspect alien intervention. Probably got probed in the woods.
underwhelming....
That made me cry with joy and wonder. Holy shit. Forgot all about Trumpillary for 6:35...
Snow artist. Sure. I'm a mashed potato artist. I'll show you over Thanksgiving, or the next time I go to KFC.
Andy Goldsworthy does beautiful work built out of nature too.
Wow
Who knew art was so tedious? (whatevs, tell it to Ratfink--which, i personally, think is beautfiful myself, so don't start.)
I vow here and now to kill whoever discovers a cure for OCD!
Who's with me?
If snow angels are childish, then I can think of at least one adult who lacks imagination.
Cue Bill Murray in Groundhog Day.
What an awful world Althouse occupies!

Until the first coming of the Progressives and the 19th Amendment, they didn't need to.
Progressives...fucking up America for over 100 years!
The tape art site was amazing....I'm going to show a couple of them to my high school classes this week.

@Gahrie- isn't it though? When my brother first made me aware of it I started watching and immediately thought it was a cool concept, using varying layers of translucency, but I was blown away by Zorn's execution with such detail.
