"These are attacks on public servants, on the rule of law, and on civilized society, and they have to stop...."

"We may not yet know the motives for this attack, but I want to be clear: there is no justification for violence against law enforcement. None. These attacks are the work of cowards who speak for no one. They right no wrongs. They advance no causes. The officers in Baton Rouge; the officers in Dallas – they were our fellow Americans, part of our community, part of our country, with people who loved and needed them, and who need us now – all of us – to be at our best."

That is hilarious coming from the head LAWLESS ONE.

Obama has has spent 7+ years working at two things: golf and replacing our respect for lawful authority with total lawlessness all of the time.

Chicagoland, Dallas and Baton Rouge

There have been 349 homicides in Chicago this year. This compares to 490 for all of 2015. The vast majority of these were black-on-black murders. (See Chicagoland: http://crime.chicagotribune.com/chicago/homicides)

And yet Black Lives Matter, the Black Panthers, Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton and Barack Obama (by his willful non-support) believe cops are the main threat to Black Americans? They don't seem to realize that if the Blue suddenly went on strike, refused to preserve and protect, the first casualties would be in minority neighborhoods.

Why is this? My theory: to confront the real problem in cites such as Chicago, Baltimore, Detroit and others does not fit the narrative nor the ultimate goals of Liberalism. To confront them is to admit that the policies of Democrat controlled cities over the last half century have failed. To confront them is to admit, as Charles Barley said, "Blacks have voted Democrat for 50 years and they're still poor." To confront them is not really the goal of Liberals because they want to keep the poor, poor; the disenfranchise , disenfranchised; It is their source of power.

I don't see what else the Golf Presidente could say, but tomorrow, this will be about gun control and healing, about fixing the endemic racism of American policing. The DOJ will come into Baton Rouge and help them fix their police problems.

Obama remains dedicated to socially re-engineeing America. He remains closer to Bill Ayers and Marxist thought, to Reverend Wright and Black Liberation Theology, to Muslims, than he does to mainstream America. To think otherwise is to ignore reality.

But I assume Democrats are starting to panic at this lawlessness and violence, from both the left and the radical Islamists, because its continuance can only hurt their election chances. No matter how much inner city minorities applaud this perceived change of power status taking place before us, there are only so many voters available from those zip codes. If the suburbs actually get scared and decide Trump has some value in this debacle after all, the Democrats could conceivably lose this race, which right now seems a lock for Hillary.

And I assume we are in for a long, long summer, much like that in 1968 or 1970.

It provides for a means of proving policing for profit as a legal defense, a means of civil recovery, and a means to double civil recovery if the policing for profit scheme has an adverse affect on a protected class. This laws would also reform civil asset seziure, creating a requirement for due process and armed robbery penalities for officials who abuse civil asset seziure.

In their attempts to gin up their base(s) for the coming election, the Democrats have sadly, for the umpteenth time, fallen for their "no enemies on the left" fantasy.

There are many enemies on the Left for the Dems, and the hard Left has historically excelled at subverting & then taking over more moderate organizations to their own ends (e.g. Hubert Humphrey & his protege Walter Mondale earned their political chops purging unions in the Midwest of the communists who had taken them over). The Democrats now have themselves in a pact with the Devil, which it's unlikely they'll be able to extricate themselves from. The Sanders' campaign enabled the Red Guard Left, & the press was able to paint the violence they perpetrated against the Trumpsters as somehow being the Trumpsters fault. Now, in using the police shootings of blacks as an organizing tool to bring in the black vote, the Dems have released the proverbial Kraken, the incredibly dysfunctional, absolutely nutjob racialist blacks activist community. These are the people that the Dems always want desperately to hide (quick! --- Nation of Islam -- Million Man March -- what do you know about Yacub? How come you don't?). And, now, they can't hide them, because they're out shooting cops, including black cops, in cold blood.

If Donald Trump had all the money in Citibank's vaults, he couldn't have bought a way to hang a heavier millstone around the necks of the Dems.

Making him a 1-term president as priority #1? Not even trying. It's been three and a half years since that gambit failed. Still no Plan B. Not even trying.

It's good to see how far all the "non-racist" Republicans want to take their "blame everything on the black guy" strategy.

Before Obama, it was (and still is), "blame everything on the black voter." Now they have a black president to blame everything on.

Obama is responsible for everything that every black American does, don'tcha know? ;-)

Just as the white presidents were responsible for everything every white American criminal ever did.

Oh wait. Did that sound racist?

Dagwood said...

You boot-licking acolytes have ignored for over seven years now that all Obama's speeches have amounted to little more than divisive rhetoric and taunting, so it's no wonder that you continue to attempt to play the increasingly worn and impotent "racist" card whenever others refuse to join the cult of personality that propelled one of the worst candidates ever into the Oval Office, and is sure to do the same come November (no matter which major party candidate wins).

Face it. The "black guy" will leave this country far less united and far less safe than when he entered office. Yet those who should be loudest in their criticism of him - the black community, which has suffered far more in terms of unemployment and now in an uptick of violent neighborhood crime - still faithfully defends him, based on the color of his skin.

Now THAT is racism.

Should have heard that speech after the killing of the two NY cops. SHould have repeated the message every time there were chants about killing cops (oh how racist and extreme the Tea Party, remember?). Should have tossed Sharpton to the curb instead of inviting him back into the White House. Should have said, after his meeting with BLM that they needed to purge the hateful element of their movement and make forceful comments about cops protecting everyone. Should have told the DOJ to quit jumping into every conflict and using RAYYYYCIST as a default position.

Today? Too little, WAY too late.

He's just reacting to the overwhelmingly negative reaction to the actions he helped begin and helped keep moving.

The police union of Cleveland is asking to have the open carry law suspended temporarily. Smart move.

""We are sending a letter to Gov. Kasich requesting assistance from him. He could very easily do some kind of executive order or something -- I don't care if it's constitutional or not at this point," Stephen Loomis, president of Cleveland Police Patrolmen's Association, told CNN. "They can fight about it after the RNC or they can lift it after the RNC, but I want him to absolutely outlaw open-carry in Cuyahoga County until this RNC is over.""

At various times, I have said that I may vote for Trump myself, and that I would probably vote for Trump. And at other times, I have remarked that I've never supported a Democrat. And that I think a Clinton presidency could do 30 years' of irreversible, catastrophic damage to the U.S. Supreme Court.

With the Dallas shootings, 31 law enforcement officers have died in the line of duty so far this year, compared with 18 officers who had died at this point in 2015, according the statistics from the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.

Nick Breul, director of research for the memorial fund and a former Washington, D.C., police officer, said that there have also been a number of surprise attacks targeting and killing police officers.

“As we see increases, it becomes very concerning, particularly when you see increases in the cases of the nature of Dallas,” Breul said.

“Certainly there is a climate now -- and the Dallas case indicates that there is a climate now -- that certainly should have police on guard,” he added.

You know how Cruz made an ad that said that if immigrants were jumping the border to take the jobs of legislators and hedge fund managers, that illegal immigration would be quickly and effectively halted? Or the commonplace that if they would all be reliable Republican voters, the Border would be quickly secured?

Rather than me identify them, I'd rather you do it. I know you can, it's very easy, Let Me Explain how.

Just assume that every single act of violence against the GOP convention at Cleveland will cost the Democratic Party a hundred thousand votes in November. Not every demonstration, every rock or punch or turd thrown at every demonstration, will be a hundred thousand votes to the GOP.

Whatever dogs you got that bite, muzzle them or keep them in the cages.

I don't see how this sort of speechifying makes much of a difference. Is there really even one person out there who says: "Gee. I was just about to go snipe a bunch of cops but now the president has persuaded me that I shouldn't do that."

What's in it for the president is to look like a leader.

That trickles down to the media, providing it with the raw material it then turns into finished product for sale, that being something to gossip about.

He asked the Republicans to offer their own health care reform.

...which the Democrats refused to listen to. And which he publicly claimed, before passing, that they never did then, after it passed, admitted that they had some good ideas. That were ignored, natch.

They refused. Nope, nope, nope.

And you bought the lie.

He asked how they would help with the economy - the same way they did for Bush. Nope, nope, nope.

Offered ideas for that, too. Dems locked amendments out of bills as well. The Republicans big Congressional mistake was allowing Dems to offer amendments to bills when Dems won't do the same for them when Dems have power.

Herbert Hoover killed people. Obama decreased the unemployment rate from Bush's recessionary high of over 10% to less than 5%.

Yet workforce participation is at epic lows. If participation today was at levels when Bush was in office, unemployment would still be above 9%.

I'll ask a simple question: In what world is an economy "healthy" when interest rates still hover around 0 after about 7 years and the Fed knows raising them will destroy the economy?

Then maybe they'll finally wake up to what they've realized in every other country and stop thinking that demeaning the poor and other racial groups will substitute for getting their own issues on the table.

They deserve to die. Got it. Nice to know where you stand.

Hoover was one of the 20th centuries greatest humanitarians.

He was just a God awful President. Who was castigated as spending way too much money by FDR.

It was Cal "Do nothing" Coolidge who killed them.

If Coolidge ran in 1928, the Depression would've been done in less than 2 years. FDR, though, did an admirable job keeping in running for his entire Presidency and directing aid to areas that were politically advantageous and not based on actual need.

FDR killed untold millions of people through his horrid policies.

Coolidge was president during the bubble years of the twenties.

Shall we revisit the economic "successes" of Clinton?

As far as the speech, might have been great. Dunno. I don't listen to Obama speeches anymore. I've heard enough, personally.

Freder has a point. He has been around for a number of years. I think I was here before him, but not absolutely sure. Sometimes we see him a lot. Sometimes not. Another long term leftist here is Robert Cook. Maybe not quite as long, but a long time. Things start to blur together after awhile. Both are good faith leftists. They just see life through different lenses than I do. Both are part of why this has been a good place to go over the years. Shilo may be immature and occasionally seem brain dead, but I think he has been around for maybe a year. R&B is maybe a mid termer. Longer than Shilo, but more recent than Freder and Cook. The rest in the list - likely paid Crooked Hillary shills.

Charles Manson was the last person of any note to try and start a race war in the US, with his "Helter Skelter" murders. Of course, he was a drug-addled lunatic, and his plans failed to reach any real fruition (although Squeaky Fromme might have killed President Ford if she'd known how to use a 1911).

President Obama has been much more successful in his efforts to instigate racial discord. But then again, Obama has the entire federal government to misuse and half the country already stupid enough to believe his Big Lies, so I'd expect such success compared to Manson.

Overall, though, both certainly deserve being put in a small cell where they can't cause anyone trouble, for the rest of their lives, and we'd be much better off as a nation had both been treated that way.
