Congratulations, Badgers. The nation unites behind you beating Duke.

Kaminsky was heads taller than anyone else on the court tonight. He played so well. If he plays like that again Monday night you will have your first national championship since 1941.

Congrats.

Haven't won yet, Badgers.

No, the Badgers haven't yet won it all.

But I wasn't expecting them to win this game. After last year's terrible loss, tonight sure was sweet.

Of course, Kentucky was operating under one grave disadvantage. Obama had picked them to win it all. That's almost like the Kiss of Death right there.

Uh, people, there's another game. Against a team that beat you by 10 at home.

You naysayers sound like the guys on ESPN. They are so ticked off Kentucky lost. They had a live report from a Kentucky bar. Nothing from Wisconsin - no bar, no State Street!

Let's celebrate the win tight now!

608.8 to 330.

Solve the puzzle and win nothing.

Charles Barkley said tonight that the internet is where fools go to meet their quota.

So I am in bed, naked, with Scarlett Johannson, and we are celebrating the Badgers win when the phone rings.

Ashley Judd. Kentucky loss: imagine.

I slept with Ash in the Nineties but she -- twenty years later -- keeps calling me; I can tell, audibly, that she is puffy-faced and distraught over Kentucky's loss.

I gently suggest that she should call Morgan Freeman but this only makes her cry harder: Morgan Freeman will no longer return her calls.

"Ashley," I say, "it is only college basketball."

"But Laslo," she cries, "I have nothing left. Hollywood has forsaken me."

What can I do? I attempt to console her:

"Ashley, Hollywood will call again soon: you are talented, able, and you are ready now for grandmother parts."

Ashley started crying again, harder, but then Scarlett started sucking my cock so my attention was diffused.

"Laslo, I am not ready yet to be a Hollywood grandmother," Ashley sobbed.

"Ashley," I replied in soothing tones, "everyone knows that Hollywood grandmothers are still seen as fuckable to most parts of America. To some men."

Ashley tried to reply, but I set the phone down because Scarlett wanted anal sex. It's so cute: Scarlett doesn't know the difference between Ashley Judd and Betty White.

I am Laslo.

Lowly lass is inverted Ace of Spades.

I wonder how much further the conspiracy advances... until Althouse reveals itself to be AIG?

Am I the credit-default swap in this a here scenario?

Just dreaming of Ashley Judd's delicious, Kentucky-blue tears made my heart leap. Thank you, Badgers!!!

If Walker wasn't an atheist, he would surely think a Badgers National Championship was a sign from God.

After the buzzer, Ashley Judd's puffy scamper could not be reached for comment.... Go Badgers, cheering for you from the land of Beaver Believers.

Weren't you the guy who predicted Wisconsin's demise after the Oregon game? Why yes. Yes you are.

I owe $50 to Saferide. Dan was the guy's name that allowed socialization not by brute force but through the forces of sundry alcohol intakes.

I made a promise to him and failed to pay up. My word is shit. Fuck. Damnit.

He had like a 307 or something area code and we were in WI,... What up wit dat?

I will go through the phone logs and figure this out and make good.

Virgil Kane ws his name and he served on the Danville train, till the Calvary came and tore up the tracks again, I was just 18 in '65, when A Yankee's Bulleit laid me to rest, and the sun, don't shine, anymore.

And the rains fall down,
On my door.

And I've never been so alone , before.

And it makes no difference, who I meet.

Like that gambler said, read 'em and weap.

And the sun don't shine; anymore.

it makes no difference the band lyrics - Google Search

It makes no difference where I turn
I can't get over you and the flame still burns
It makes no difference, night or day
The shadow never seems to fade away

And the sun don't shine anymoreAnd the rains fall down on my door

Now there's no love
As true as the love that dies untold
But the clouds never hung so low before

It makes no difference how far I go
Like a scar the hurt will always show
It makes no difference who I meet
They're just a face in the crowd
On a dead-end street

And the sun don't shine anymoreAnd the rains fall down on my door

These old love letters well, I just can't keep
'Cause like the gambler says read them and weep
And the dawn don't rescue me no more

1 When the Lord restored the fortunes of the Badgers,
we were like those who dreamed.
2 Our mouths were filled with laughter,
our tongues with songs of joy.
Then it was said among the NCAA,
“The Lord has done great things for them.”
3 The Lord has done great things for us,
and we are filled with joy.

Psalm 126:1-3 New Badger Bible Translation

Well done, Wisconsin.

The game was one that will go down as one of the finest basketball games played. Both teams played with skill and brains. For 40 minutes. Any coach will tell you that is extremely rare.
Best of seven series? To close to call.
Congrats to Wisconsin

I think what irritates a lot of observers is the fact the Wisconsin plays with a lot of fun and joy. The Vince Lombardi, Bobby Knight crowd, are convinced that fun has no place in serious athletic competition. Wisconsin is more Ernie banks, 'its a great day for a ball game.....lets play two!'

Great game last night. I love this Wisconsin team. They could've rolled over when they were down 4 with about 4 minutes to go. Instead they absolutely locked down on defense and hit some clutch shots. (Well, Nigel Hayes got away with a shot clock violation, but the refs had been killing Wisconsin up to that point. I'll take the makeup no-call.)

Looking forward to tomorrow night.

F*%k the media once again. They soooo wanted undefeated Kentucky against fellow legacy Duke, because they think that's the best story line for them. Thank God we won't have to see the clip of Christian Laettner's Kentucky-beating buzzer beater every five seconds, or listen to every sportscaster prattle on about Kentucky's undefeated season.

David Begley said...

An outstanding game last night.

And there will be NO rioting on Monday when the Badgers win! First title since 1941.

Now which two teams did Virginia say didn't deserve their #1 seeding compared to Virginia's #2? Just the last two teams still playing, that's who. Now that's some funny stuff right there.

Seeing Calipari lose and Bo Ryan win makes me feel like good has triumphed over evil. I am a Duke fan, but I harbor no ill will against Wisconsin.

I've watched Calipari since his days at UMass. He's the antithesis of Bo Ryan and coach K. when it comes to character.

This is like the US Olympic Hockey team beating the Russians in Lake Placid in 1980. Like the US team 35 years ago, the Badgers still have one game to play. Only in 1980 all the US team had to do was beat Finland for the gold. The Badgers are up against Duke, which will (1) beat the Badgers by 10 at home, and (2) will be very, very prepared.

Wisconsin has a heck of a team, no doubt about that, but if they don't come out on Monday playing really hard, they're going to look around at half time and wonder why they're down by 20.

mezzrow said...

A karmic moment for yours truly. God Bless Frank, Bo, and all those other stinkin' Badgers.

Why do I feel this way? I remember March 22, 1975 in Dayton, Ohio. That's why. I was there. That 1975 IU team was better than the 1976 team that made it all the way.

http://www.bigbluehistory.net/bb/statistics/Games/19750322Indiana.html

Kentucky's powerful team ended Indiana University's 34-game basketball victory streak, 92-90, today and moved to the semi-finals of the 37th National Collegiate Athletic Association tournament.

@Laslo, Ashley Judd is that rare actress who can appear to be the woman next door. Pretty, but nothing really special. Then the lighting changes imperceptibly, her pose and expression changes imperceptibly, doubtless her makeup changes ever so slightly, and she's an utter knockout.

Ashley Judd also demonstrated a degree of class when she posted her congratulations to Wisconsin and told them to "get it done Monday night!!"

Well Ms. Althouse; basketball not politics or culture.

A welcome respite. And since it's been a long time between championships for Wisconsin basketball, let's hope they don't get Duked out tomorrow night.

I am Kentucky fan, but I hope the Badgers win Monday night. However, I fear they will do what a lot of teams do that have to play the second, big name game on Saturday- lay a rotten egg on Monday night. Kentucky did it last year.

People marching around the Capitol were labeled as "running wild" while this crowd is considered "behaved".

Althouse once again shows she is far more cruel than neutral.

I always pull for the team with the least tattoos.
Last night was easy but
Wisconsin/Duke is a tough call.
Very little skin art on the two finalists.
