We are at home and not traveling. This is something I noticed while experimenting on what the scenic route might be between 2 cities (because someone I know was making the drive).
So: It's in the United States. The plants might be the best clue. Texas was a close guess.
The plants and landscape look like State Route 20 around Arco, Idaho, but I know it isn't the place in your photo. Lots of dry flat places in the Mountain West look like that.

It looks like either Ontario or Texas. So it must be Texas because Canada's Royal Highways are not built that irREGular way.
