Saw something I've never seen before on my evening walk. A cat and a raccoon sitting on a doorstep together in apparent harmony while the raccoon's three adolescent children farted around in the front yard. My best guess is that the homeowner is feeding them all generously. No doubt if I went to Google Images there are zillions of photos of cats and raccoons acting like snuggle bunnies, but it was a big surprise to me.
It is nice to see another group of Vet part of Honor Flight took down some more barriers. This time at the Iwo Jima memorial. Also note that the oldest surviving Medal of Honor has just died. Salute.
Jack London wrote a dystopian novel 'The Iron Heel.' It is "a preposterous vision of a nightmarish America ruled by a militaristic oligarchy that engages in domestic spying and has crushed labor and the middle class, abetted by a docile press."
Preposterous!

Re: raccoons and cats, living together, I saw a group of Muscovy ducks yesterday morning. If you've ever seen a Muscovy duck, you know that they are living proof that not every ugly duckling grows up to be a swan; some just grow up to be ugly ducks. Anyway, there were several ducklings in the group. About half of the ducklings were yellow, the other half had mottled black markings on their backs. I'm guessing sexual dimorphism, with one group being male and the other female, although that's just a guess. This is what they looked like.
Farmer, I love New Glarus Beer, Fat Squirrel at this time of year and a corn beef on rye, mmmm. I think I've had Capitol Beer, can't remember, which means it didn't make an impression, I guess. :)
Oh, that reminds me, One Barrel Brewing on Atwood Ave. Try them, they're great. I was there last September, had an excellent gluten free beer, they brew very small batches of all kinds of beer, hence the name.

Just a hop, skip and jump to New Glarus and some great beer. Or you can get it at the grocery store.
You know, Professor, the day destroys the night.
Night divides the day.
Break on through.
Yeah.

I just watched Last Days of Disco. Chole and Kate were so beautiful. I fucking love Chloe.
It reminded me of me at a very young age. I remember seeing disco records on fire in some Chicago baseball field and I thought....they hate me.
I loved disco when I was like 7 and wished Santa would bring me a Donna Summer album.
But when I saw those disco albums being burned I was devasted.
Althouse, wasn't that the time that you were in NYC. Did you experience or go to Studio 54?
Ronan Farrow is so amazingly beautiful... it's possible that
Mona Lisa may have been hiding a remarkable secret – she was a he.

There is one religion better than the others.
What happened to the country reviews? I don't think the alphabet was ever finished.
Pepperidge Farm has pumpkin cheesecake cookies.
That is all you need to know to schedule a trip to your local store that has Pepperidge Farm goods.
Saw "Gravity" yesterday.
Wow.
Not so different, oddly, from last year's "Flight" with Denzel Washington.
More I will not say.
Inag, I think New Glarus blows. Capital makes great beer though. Beer snobs seem to hate it, which is a big plus.
