Said Chris Lehane, according to the Washington Post, which called him a Democratic "crisis-management specialist." (Cool job title.)
Lehane was comparing Anthony Weiner's statement about whether the notorious panties-pic depicts himself to "the infamous phrase that Vice President Al Gore used in 1997 to describe questionable fundraising activities, and then the one that then-Sen. Larry E. Craig (R-Idaho) used in 2007 to explain how he came to be arrested for lewd conduct after tapping the foot of an undercover officer in a restroom stall in the Minneapolis airport."
Ah, yes! It's a new entry in The Annals of Ineffective Denials.

«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 203 of 203Anthony Weiner's damage control team has come up with a novel new way to control and intimidate journalists.
They're now using the Capitol Police to threaten the arrest of anyone who asks him questions about his pattern and practice of flashing young girls his penis on the internet using taxpayer funded equipment.
CBS2's Marcia Kramer is being illegally harassed by the Capitol Police. She showed up at Weiner's public office and did nothing more than attempt to get his press secretary to answer questions. This is something reporters do every day and is not illegal.
Still, Weiner's office called Capitol Police to begin them harassing the reporter for merely asking the wrong questions.
CBS2 News: "Police officers asked for identification. One cop told Kramer that if she went into Weiner’s office and didn’t leave if she was asked, she could be arrested. 'If you go to an office and are asked to leave, you can be placed under arrest,' Officer Michael Miller said."
CBS2 News:"Kramer responded, 'But I wasn’t refusing to leave.'”
This official police harassment of a reporter simply trying to do her job is more evidence of Anthony Weiner's police state mentality
Weiner is being enabled in his sickness by everyone helping him to get away with it. He believes he has official gun-wielding protection who will intimidate reporters if they question his attempts to do anything he wants and get away with it.
Such enabling behavior by friends and family of Weiner will only deepen and extend his mental illness of exhibitionism - perhaps causing permanent damage.
Friends and family of Weiner need to understand he is a sick man who needs mental health assistance and stop enabling his behavior.
well I guess Anthony can say with certitude now.
