Exfoliate is one of those weird autoantonym words that can mean opposite things; to grow leaves or conversely to shed leaves or slough scales. This causes me confusion.

It's a bit more useful to think of "strip" rather than either "shed" or "slough" with regard to "exfoliate" in some contexts and/or circumstances. Well, IMO, anyway.

Amazing and spectacular. Meade and Althouse need to collect all these beautiful plant and animal shots into one location.
Very pretty, quite evocative of this time of year.
Too bad the downpours keep us inside for so long. Such sights are so fleeting, we need to see as much of them as we can.
