Amazing and spectacular. Meade and Althouse need to collect all these beautiful plant and animal shots into one location.

Very pretty, quite evocative of this time of year.

Too bad the downpours keep us inside for so long. Such sights are so fleeting, we need to see as much of them as we can.

I thought of you both today when a friend referred to the Malthouse Tavern.

Does that mean Althouse is now dominating what was once equal?

Or did she just break out the thighboots again?

If anybody is getting ready to amend their garden beds, don't forget that manure makes an excellent exfoliant so don't be afraid to really get your hands in there.

Blogger isn't being very cooperative this evening.

Comments getting gobbled.

Service outages.

Blech.

Exfoliate is one of those weird autoantonym words that can mean opposite things; to grow leaves or conversely to shed leaves or slough scales. This causes me confusion.

Star of Bethlehem which bloomed today.

Every year it blooms on the same day as poison ivy.

Althouse has had a flikr stream for...well, forever. Click on any photo taken by Althouse that she's chosen to embed in one of her posts and you'll get there. Once there, you can explore and enjoy all the collections you want.

Chip Ahoy:

It's a bit more useful to think of "strip" rather than either "shed" or "slough" with regard to "exfoliate" in some contexts and/or circumstances. Well, IMO, anyway.

Looks like the doors to WalMart at 5 a.m. on Black Friday in November.
