The PBR can the snowman is holding is a nice touch.

Still looks mighty cold to me.

Reminds me of American Gods. Is there a car on the ice in Madison that people bet on when it is going through the ice?

Damn that IPCC report that predicted fewer cold days/less snow. If only they would have listened to Von Gore and his claim that this was all part of the plan.

lol WV - "gorics" - Claims such as the center of the Earth is several million degrees hot.

I never took Odin for an ATM thief.

I saw in another post where some naredowells toppled the Statue of Liberty sculpture on Lake Mendota - is that the pile of rubble there in the background in your 1 photo?

Around the sixth or seventh of January we put our Christmas tree on the side of the road in front of the house. A heavy snowfall completely buried it before the next trash pickup. Just within the past couple of days has the snow melted enough for a few branches to become visible.

Ever try to throw out an old garbage can by putting it out on the side of the road? It's not easy.

Yes. And unless its totally caved in or destroyed, it may require one to attach a sign to it with such sample text as 'Please Take'.

That's the pre-rubble view. It was already pretty rubble-y. The spikes were off the tiara. Are we sure it was a vandal or is it possible that it toppled as the ice shifted?

I know Ann has some regrets over the snow that hasn't been properly utilized, but I'm just as glad it's surrendering as completely in NE OH as it is in WI.

Winter Surrenders

Here too! The difference in the angle and intensity of February sunlight is amazing to see and feel. Powerful and effective. I'm hyped and so are the animals. The dog is able to dump on something that looks like ground again, which for him is almost as satisfying as spittin' on the green. The cardinal has started his spring call. Not the mating call, but the warm up tune that precedes it. Elvis is in the building!

This should become the new way of saying the bloom is off the rose or the wheels are off the bus. "It was a great relationship when it started, but the spikes are off the tiara now."
