Deborah, I was going to say the same thing. The close-up shows how awesome that scarf is! Irene, if you're reading this, my birthday is in September! Thanks doll.

Is Irene selling those?

It would make a nice Valentines/Mothers day gift.

Lem the artificially intelligent said...

OMG.. Althouse was reloading with that hand.

Not helpful ;)

That is an awesome scarf, Irene!

Irene said...

Gee, thanks everybody!

@ deborah, the pattern for the scarf derives from this cover design.

I've knitted it as a sweater three times.

(@bagoh, knitting keeps me sane.)

Cold hands - Warm Heart!

Irene -- that is gorgeous! My daughter knits and sells scarves locally - I'm going to share the picture with her!

Lem, sorry, but I never sell my knitted stuff.

Meadesy-poo, want a little rub down?

Lucky Meade. He gets to warm those hands.

And cheeks.

Irene, what Deborah said, that is gorgeous work and the color perfect on Althouse.

Jeez Althouse, you sure know how to make a Florida boy feel inadequate.
First a house set to 62 degrees, then ice boating, and now barehanded snowball fights! Our house is now set to 70 degrees and I am freezing! You 60 year old northerners are tough!

Irene, you're quite the witty knitter. Is that your own design?

Oh, I see your upper post.

I used this photo (and an idea from a commenter) on my blog - because I thought they were so "cool".

Hope no one minds.

Have you shagged your bob more recently? I like it, very sexy. Try Sally Herschberger's Shagg Spray it is majorly cool.

Nothing wrong with capitalism, Irene. It's the American way! :-)

Re: Canucks ban Dire Straits: Sounds like a bad case of brain freeze up there, eh? Those hosers better hope for some global warming to thaw their brains out.

Irene, nice knitting. I'm wearing hand-knit socks today (the wife's doing).

Are you on ravelry, like my wife is?

KCFleming said...

Way cool gift, Irene.

I have trouble making even snowballs.

We need a close-up of Martha's hat.

This Cold Hands Cafe has all warm hearted comments. Stay classy, commenters.

My son took a ceramics class (he's a high school senior). His teacher said she liked his 'soap dish'.

It was a flattened cat, with a depression and tire markings across the middle. He told her it was road kill.

For this I pay tuition.

Irene said...

MadisonMan, thanks. I am on Ravelry!

Deb said...

Thanks for the close up. Irene, I'm on ravelry too; I will look for you. Beautiful scarf!

Meet our new foster puppy, Zoe, who was just a few hours away from being euthanized.

Deb said...

Thanks for posting the picture; I just realized I could click on the picture & view the larger size. Duh.

Irene said...

Deb, Zoe is lovely!

Deb said...

thanks Irene. She is a sweetheart.

jungatheart said...

Irene, thanks for the link. I knit some, but would never attempt anything that intricate! What is the name and brand of the scarf color, please?

Deb, Zoe is adorable. I have a Zoe also, as does my second cousin's husband. A beautiful name.

Irene said...

Deborah, the yarn is "Classic Elite, Inca Alpaca." I believe the color is discontinued, The color is a pale sage. The scarf, worked over 71 sts, takes five skeins. Look for the yarn at Webs (yarn.com).

Auto-correct tried to change "sts" to "STD".

Scarf-transmitted disease! Like the Puritans and the Indians and the smallpox!

Irene said...

Althouse, LOL.

jungatheart said...

Thanks for the info, Irene. Alpaca, huh...cool.

(Auto-check needs to get it's mind out of the gutter ;)
