Any idea how old that tree is? There's an old Peruvian pepper tree at the Mission San Luis Rey out here which is supported by several crutches link The tree dates from 1830. We bought a seedling from the Friars several years ago and planted it--that species really thrives out here in sandy soil.
The source on which we all lean all of the time is the surrounding righteous community that seeks our good and not our harm...and that requires a leader with that vision thing.
Peter Hoh...That is where the leader comes in. What flows down from the leader can be a blessing or can be a curse. Our successful leaders have been tough, honest and faithful Scots-Irish men and women. With a coward or a thief as our leader, everything we lean upon falls apart.

We can always lean on Althouse.

Trad guy, I suppose as long as the righteous community has good intentions it'll be okay. Eh?
Ham sandwich. Step 1: make bread. Step 2: make sandwich spread.

Trad guy, I would prefer not to have to depend on the good intentions of the Dear Leader.
I want checks and balances and limits to what Dear Leaders, well-intentioned or not, can do.
Exactly. And its never the Dear Leader thats the problem. Its the one that replaces him.
Except when we don't.

Which is the Lefties' problem. They don't care what's done as long as they like the intention behind it.
What kind of tree is that? Box elder?
Today is the anniversary of Lennon's death by the way - in case you forgot.
No shoutingthomas, not the communist Lenin...they sound the same but its not the same person...just heading you off at the pass.
.....Lennon........
Edutcher, not minding what happens as long as the person in charge has the right intentions is starting to become the right's problem, as well.
