I think her comments are understandable. She feels the strong push of momentum propelling her forward.

She just doesn't realize it's out the door.

Anonymous said...

Does she actually believe that? Surely she doesn't.

That means she is just saying it because she thinks it will help. But statements like that just demonstrate how out of touch she and her whole party are, and how they will resort to lying without hesitation-- all reasons to vote Republican this November.

Btw... have you read the Republican Plan for America? I hate Republicans with a visceral and long-fermented loathing, but nonetheless it does seem like a exceptionally good plan. The document is all about creating a good environment for business and trying to eliminate corruption and shady political dealings. As far as I can tell, there is only a single sentence paying lip service to the social conservative / "family values" side. Perhaps Republicans are starting to get it?

That is very interesting, Pelosi...and all BS, unless the new ballot stuffing teams within the Democrat Metropolitan Cities have been renamed "The Momentum." That could be this year's October surprise.

Dead,

I saw that via Drudge:

Jobs:

- Stop job-killing tax hikes

- Allow small businesses to take a tax deduction equal to 20 percent of their income

- Require congressional approval for any new federal regulation that would add to the deficit

- Repeal small business mandates in the new health care law.

Cutting Spending:

- Repeal and Replace health care

- Roll back non-discretionary spending to 2008 levels before TARP and stimulus (will save $100 billion in first year alone)

- Establish strict budget caps to limit federal spending going forward

- Cancel all future TARP payments and reform Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac

Reforming Congress:

- Will require that every bill have a citation of constitutional authority

- Give members at least 3 days to read bills before a vote

Defense:

- Provide resources to troops

- Fund missile defense

- Enforce sanctions in Iran

To me this reads like boilerplate R BS. The biggest tell is that they claim they're taking 100Billion out of soc/medicare/non-disc at the exact same time they have candidates attacking BHO for cutting Medicare.

Feel free to fall of this typical R BS. I've already done that one too many times over the last few decades.

Why do both parties insist on having lightning rods for criticism and/or blithering tools heading up respective sides in Congress?

Has it always been this way?

J said...

The usual Limbozo-head type of rage against Miss Pelosi can only be called the M-word (....Misogyny), tho' with elements of racism and catholic bashing as well. The GOP biz types don't really have any substantive criticism to make--he merely whines (verboten per CEO Limbozo hisself). Reversing BushCo's tax slashes for the wealthy from '03 or so is more than warranted, for one.

Anonymous said...

Commenter J has collected a book's worth of leftist hackery, ad hominem attack disguised as some sort of holier-than-thou defense, and extreme misunderstanding of economic reality into a pithy paragraph.

I salute you, J, because that kind of conciseness is not easy. Your blowhard kindred spirit Karl Marx certainly didn't have your most excellent abilities.

jeff said...

Totally agree with her. Just like driving a car off a 1000 ft cliff. You got the momentum with you. Not worth what you get at 1001 feet though.

Anonymous said...

El Pollo Real-

Stop with the physics, dude!!! It's a full moon out... and the equinox... adding physics to that could drive you NUTTY!?;!?!.

Pelosi is obviously experiencing a hefty uncertainty in her measurement of momentum. This would mean that she knows her position quite precisely. But she ain't saying nothing about that; note how she refuses to answer the question about it.

J said...

Touched a nerve! You're the ad hominem specialists--ie count the ad homs against Pelosi above--and having your usual hysteria fit.

And anyone who thinks supply-side econ is like some worked out or scientific (hah hah) system needs to go back to like Peoria JC.

BushCo tax slashes in 03 were nearly as seditionist as his WMD lies--and funny, timed just right--the oil boys and speculators could get their bets in the stocks and futures when the War kicked off.

J -- Everything you have written here has been wrong.

I will play in one particularly fun instance, though. How can the tax cuts be seditious when Bush was president and he and the Congress created the tax cuts properly under law? Further, a cut in tax rates is not a tax cut unless the economy remains stagnant or decreases in size (like under Obama). Ten percent of $10 is less than nine percent of $12.

IMO it's overexposure. If they took my advice, the leaders would minmize their time at a microphone and focus on getting the message out via the internet. I get sick of seeing these "leaders" no matter the party especially when nothing seems to ever get fixed.

If I was president, I'd shut down the White House press room. What good is it in this day & age? A pure anachronism.

Again, the attacks on Pelosi are nothing substantial-- just the usual Limbozo hick rhetoric. She's wrong...because she's wrong! (or maybe a ...marian, per Rev Hogee) and wants to raise goldanged taxes

In a horrific recession when the fed already can't print enough money. Brilliant! Let's put up a bunch of trade barriers, too. Maybe raise interest rates and take everybody's gold.

You don't know f**k about politics, little man Machos. "Cutting taxes" does not add up to a political ideology. And you don't understand Pelosi's agenda, which is hardly radical. "Cutting taxes" does not add up to a political ideology.

Neither does demanding that the military cut and run or passing draconian, Byzantine laws that brilliantly solve the health care problem by making it illegal not to have insurance.

But limited government is most certainly a political ideology.

Anyway, kind sir who never utters an unkind word, I thought Obama was a pragmatist. What's this shit I hear now about ideology?

Paul said...

Pelosi ment the 'momentum' was upon us, not 'with us'. See that makes it logical.

Otherwise it makes her look like a raving moonbat, and we can't have the public thinking Democrats are moonbats, right?

Mark said...

In Pelosi's defense, what else is she going to say? "We're totally boned!"?

(Actually, she could be gracious and say that the Loyal Opposition would doubtless benefit from the discomfort so much of America feels, but that makes it even much more important for the people who believe in what the Democratic Party is trying to accomplish to get out and vote in November.

But saying that would require the political savvy of a Jack Russell terrier, and Pelosi loses that competition.)

J said...

oil conspiracies...hmmm. Bush golfing pals were like Lee Raymond of Exxon, and others, Halliburton (also Cheney's cronies), Bechtel, and does Enron ring a bell? Probably not. Bush also had many ties to BP (as does Palin)--. And it's probably just a coincidence that Exxon posted the largest quarterly profits, like, in American history when their boy Dubya was at the reins-- as did the crude oil prices. Then, who the F. cares. Truth, historical accuracy/reporting, Reason itself are bad for business.

NotWhoIUsedtoBe said...

Uh... well, a lot of Republicans (cough Hugh Hewitt cough) were telling soothing lies before November, 2006. Maybe not lies, because they believed it.

Correct. But you fail to realize that to Pelosi, Obama, Reid et al. revenue is the least important aspect of taxation.

The momentum is with us. We are out there to dispel many of the misrepresentations that have been going out there for nearly two years by the Republicans and the special interests, the oil industry, the health insurance industry, the banks and their allies.

Misrepresentations? There ain't no misrepresentations. The truth is stranger than any lies that could be made up. No need for misrepresentations. The lady is psychotic.

About as much momentum as a donkey stuck in a mud pit.

Anonymous said...

J -- Is your argument about oil? Really?

Okay, well, let's get it straight.

1. George W. Bush conspired with mysterious oil executives to raise the price of oil in order to boost oil company profits.

2. George W. Bush is no longer president and cannot be president and is certainly not running for any office anywhere in 2010.

3. Oil and gas prices are still incredibly high, even though Brilliant Obama is president.

4. Therefore, attack George W. Bush to get people to vote for Democrats in 2010.

Your political acumen is without equal. Truly, you are shrewd.

Palladian said...

'And a racist and misogynist Libozo-fellater to boot, you cracker faggot maricon!'

Nothing less than an in-your-face display of her utter contempt for the electorate.

Mark said...

"4. Therefore, attack George W. Bush to get people to vote for Democrats in 2010."

That's about all the Mobies have to run with. Unfortunately for them, Obama is making Bush look better and better every day.

Fearless prediction: since voters can't vote directly against Obama in this cycle, Democratic losses will be even larger than predicted on the eve of the election as people vote against anyone even vaguely associate with the Big O.

She might have a point. Just a few weeks ago the Gallup generic Congressional poll had the GOP +10. Now it's Dems +1. I think it's a combination of 2 things:

So yeah we despise Cruella Pelosi but she's right.
