Talk about a camera "capture."

This one captured a thief.

(And hey, it's in Madison.)

You and Meade could be the Nick and Nora of the Midwest with your little Pentaflex.

All you have to do is stop dwelling on the beauties of Nature and stake out the State House (all the crooks hang out there, you know).

Caught on Camera! 2 counts of wrongdoing

1. Wearing shorts.

2. Theft.

The expression on the girl's face in the last shot is priceless!

The point of the story is that the camera on a self-timer caught the thief while the family was looking in the opposite direction.

Now, I wouldn't even set my camera over on the wall like they did. I'd worry that someone would grab and run off with the camera even as we watched. These people put their bag way over in a doorway and had their backs to it.

They got lucky and were smart to look in the display and then go to the police, but it was dumb to abandon a bag like that.

I recall having a leisure suit that was that shade of blue.

Never trust a man in shorts.

I like that the Police can use technology to make a quick alert about a perpetrator in the vicinity.

But these people were stupid. Let's put cash down in a busy place, walk away and turn our backs?

HA!!! The little girl in the photo is doing the robot. Also, what era is that suit from that he is wearing?

wv = fight = oh, it's on now bitch!!!

Anybody else notice the unfortunate placement of the young girl's head while she makes a "this is how big it is" hand gesture?

It's not just the shorts, it's the accompanying brown dress shoes.

And how, in this time of heightened security, did this guy even get within a mile of the capital?

MadisonMan said...

john, anyone can walk up and into the Wisconsin State Capitol.

Wearing jean shorts and brown dress shoes?

(Did you think I was going to say "Wearing a powder blue leisure suit"?)

When it's Governor Althouse, such clothing choices will be banned and he'd've been arrested while still on Spaight (I'm guessing he's an East-sider).

One of the commenters at the original post pointed out that there is a second person visible in the photo between the man and woman. An accomplice?

An accomplice? The Madison Capitol Police are all over that possibility, and have just released a photo of the suspected thief and his accomplice/brother.

Here's a video capture of something quite different. Arguably much worse.

"....but it was dumb to abandon a bag" with billfold, credit cards, cash etc in it. What the hell. Who does that?

The photo also captured a family that failed bag management. Perhaps the kids distracted them, but they got awfully far from their valuables.

Still, it's great that the police were able to nab the thief and recover the bag and contents. Cute photo of the little girl and the cops.

Yes, that's why I said she was doing the robot. :D
