Okay, I'm sorry, and I have no strong feeling for or against Palin, but in the top still photograph the thing on the left protruding from behind Palin's right shoulder looks like a giant, erect penis.

As my whimsy leads me.. said...

Seven, I think that's a flag pole.

Does anybody know the significance of the St Patrick cross flag?

Unknown said...

i still dont understand how people take sarah palin seriously in a quest to hold public office, whether it be for governor, VP, or God forbid, a presidential run.

Anonymous said...

The more I look at it, the more I am convinced it is a giant penis. I wonder whose it is. Certainly, not a Democrat...

Anonymous said...

Don't worry, Danielle. Only a few million people take Palin seriously than take you seriously.

holdfast said...

As a national candidate, she still does come off as something of a lightweight - but compare her to Joe Biden and she looks like a Rocket Surgeon.

Unknown said...

seven machos, is that the best you can do ? gotta respect a guy who has enough integrity to not make things personal, eh ?

the reason i dont worry is because more than half of the voting public already chose President Obama over the old, angry, erratic man, and his reckless choice of running mate.

Gavin Sullivan said...

Utterly breathtaking--that a national American political figure could comport herself so--and still be considered a serious adult, or 'a conservative'. What an embarrassment to our country!

Anonymous said...

I'm not making it personal, Danielle. I'm merely pointing out that it's ironic and hypocritical for you to suggest that it's somehow odd that people take Palin seriously because pretty much everyone here thinks you are a drooling idiot.

I prefer to talk about the giant penis just behind her, anyway. That's news.

Unknown said...

i wonder how much sarah was paid for this appearance ! last time, her fee was $100K !

the gal is really cashing in !!

so do people really respect a potential future presidential contender who quits her governorship to cash in w/ a book deal, being a FOX news contributor, pushing a reality show, and charging exorbitant speaking fees ?

i guess we'll see in a few years ...

Anonymous said...

How much are you paid for your appearances, Danielle? The nonsexual ones...

Unknown said...

seven machos, what a ridiculous point.

is it also meaningful to you that there are millions of americans who think sarah is a crack-pot ?

what sense does it make to compare the nationwide popularity of a public figure to that of a non public figure ?

that makes no sense.

instead of actually saying anything related to my views on Palin, you, in quite juvenile fashion, were saying 'well we dont like you either, so there.'

that is a pretty pathetic mode of engagement, unless of course you are 12.

Andrea said...

"Utterly breathtaking--that a national American political figure could comport herself so--and still be considered a serious adult, or 'a conservative'. What an embarrassment to our country!"

So how did she "comport herself," Gavin Sullivan? Explain, please.

Ron said...

You mean, Danielle, like the guy who can't finish his Illinois state senate term, or US Senate term -- a guy with zero executive experience -- just to win the Presidency? Palin's not making me buy her book, unlike somebody else's health care plan...

Unknown said...

ah, yes -- verification. true to form of the 12 year old boy that you are, you have repeatedly turned the conversation to sex.

feel free to continue talking to yourself. i see that i was wasting my time trying to reason with you.

as you were.

People: THERE IS A GIANT FUCKING PENIS BEHIND SARAH PALIN.

Yet, all you can do is complain that she is getting attention from people who like her at an event filled with people who like her.

What is wrong with you? Don't you have lives? Don't you get laid? Can't you at least masturbate on occasion?

jvermeer51 said...

And I’m supposed to take a President seriously who didn’t know then and apparently doesn’t know now the difference between auto liability and auto collision insurance?

Anonymous said...

Hey, Danielle, are you practicing your "concern troll" act? Because your getting pretty good at it. Congrats.

The reason Seven and others aren't taking you seriously is because your premise is such a waste of time. Everyone here knows you never even remotely evaluated Sarah Palin based on anything but the generic knee-jerk, pre-digested Democratic talking points. You didn't look at her and come to a conclusion, you came to a conclusion and then looked at her. And then we're supposed to find it remarkable that you don't understand how people take Sarah Palin seriously? Not all of us are thaaat naive.

Unknown said...

Ron, are you talking about the man who has just achieved the HCR that has eluded democratic and republican presidents for circa 100 years ? Our President ? That gentleman ? The one that will go down in history as one of our best presidents for this historic achievement ?

I know you people hate it, but you may as well come to terms with the undeniable truth that even your beloved republican presidents tried for HCR and failed. and that the version that President Obama passed is the sort advocated by Dole and others.

Anonymous said...

I remember how much people were fired up about Bob Dole. There's a man who was something special. He was The One before The One.

And I think Dole's favorability rating was about what Obama's is now.

I can't even imagine those two rock stars in a room. It'd be like Prince and Jimi Hendrix jamming together, man.

Also, again, perhaps people agree with Palin because they don't like the health care bill or the way the country is headed. Or maybe they are paying attention to her because of the GIANT FUCKING PENIS BEHIND HER.

Ultimately, it doesn't matter. Palin is rich and famous and a contender for the presidency. You, not so much. I bet you don't have very many giant penises in your life, either, Danielle. That goes for you, too, Gavin.

Unknown said...

kcom, lets be real. the reason for seven's comments is that he's too taken by what he views as a giant penis. he cant get it out of his mind. he loves it. he is completely turned on.

Anonymous said...

I am as impressed by a giant, erect penis as anyone, Danielle. Unlike you, I am not uncomfortable with giant penises.

Unknown said...

kcom, clearly you are free to use whatever notion you choose to dismiss my views. you republicans are very good at dismissing, and not engaging ideas that you disagree with. that's what your congressmen and senators have been doing since our president arrived.

i just hope that you all are completely honest with yourself in your evaluations of ms palin. i know you all are moved by her speaking style, and her relatability ... but quitting her governorship ? you know, when being president gets tough, its not OK to quit. Its true that after being president, they have opportunities to make even more writing books and speaking fees, and rallying the party. Is she going to leave early to do that too ?

Ron said...

Danielle I'll bet Harding didn't think he'd be remembered primarily for Teapot Dome...It's far from clear where this HCR bill will wind up. Maybe it will work out; but maybe it won't, just due to the cost alone. I don't know, and neither do you.

Without the broader mandate that real pols like FDR and LBJ achieved with their Republican opposite numbers, it's quite possible this bill will be dismantled and neutered totally on the basis of partisan politics.

Ron said...

i just hope that you all are completely honest with yourself in your evaluations of ms palin. i know you all are moved by her speaking style, and her relatability ... but quitting her governorship ?

And we hope the same for your evaluations of a man whose done nothing but quit every public service job he's had to grab the next one.

Anonymous said...

Who here has said they are impressed with Palin's speaking or style?

Your problem,Danielle, is that you are a hack. You are stupendously boring and entirely too serious and predictable. Do you really believe that what you have posted here is any way interesting? Do you hope to convince anyone of anything with your trite prose?

You are an embarrassment to your party. And if Beth or Madison Man or any other witty and entertaining lefty were here, they'd agree wholeheartedly.

Now, about this giant penis...

Unknown said...

sure Ron. whatever you say.

stay in denial. its more dreamy and peaceful for you there, i'm sure. you know, i think you'll be able to stay in that cozy little bubble if you refrain from watching or reading anything outside of FOX news productions.

good luck with all of that !

Unknown said...

yes, Ron stay their in your fantasy world.

leaving the senate to be president is identical to quitting a governorship cash in by promoting your book, extracting exorbitant speaking fees, for a lucrative commentator job at FOX, and to promote your reality show. yes, those are exactly equal. absolutely. sure thing.

Sarah Palin Derangement Syndrome is utterly hilarious.

Let's do a thought experiment. Let's add up all all the love for Sarah Palin on the right. Now, let's add up all the crazed, spewing hatred of Sarah Palin on the left. Let's both on one of those scales, like the scales of justice. Which side is heavier?

I don't give a flying fuck about Sarah Palin, dude. You do. She drives you up the wall, and then sideways across it.

Get some help. Go away and get some help. Come back halfway interesting. Dazzle me in some small way.

bagoh20 said...

Cashing in to write hagiography about yourself, twice, is the highest of callings. It's especially impressive when you have actually never done anything.

But it can get a lot of suckers to vote for you. Then there will always be a bunch of them too cowardly to admit their mistake. That's your base. Good luck growing that.

Anonymous said...

By the way, in these very pages I predicted that the left would allege a sweeping phenomenon of blacklash (TM) once Obama started to crater.

Frank Rick wrote a column about it either today or yesterday.

Listen to your Seven Machos -- sometimes wrong, but never dull and hackey like Danielle and the leftists who generally find their way here.

bagoh20 said...

My understanding is that Palin has not indicated any interest in running and is nowhere close to being the leading GOP pick, but she gets 95% of all the criticism. That's seems a little obsessive to me. Maybe even sexist or outright nuts.

Peter V. Bella said...

What part of the majority of people from all political persuasions were against his particular 3000 health care atrocity don't these Democrats understand?

Then, after the pass a bill, against the will of the people, they make upo stories of racist, homophobic, and violent threats against them. Even if some were true, they deserved it. They defied the will of the people.

This bill is a travesty. It violates every principle of the American way. Of course, this administration, this congress, and this ruling Party is a travesty of Americanism.

Their whole attitude is we won, we know more than you, shut the fuck up and accept your fate. The middle class will be destroyed in the next few years.

Soon, we will be just another tin pot dictatorship ruled by a party instead of representatives of the people. All for the greater good. Suckers.

Unknown said...

wow bagoh20. for someone who gets so amped about people who level 'racist' against others, how easily 'sexist' just glided from your brain to the keyboard.

i love your consistency.

i wonder if ann will agree with you there. wouldnt that be something after a week of TPers rants !

This is the reason the left goes bat-shit insane over Palin: she's a female, Republican Obama.

She has very little experience, none of which qualifies her to be president. She is far to the right. She gives a decent speech. For whatever reason, she came about at the right time in the zeitgeist.

Obama has very little experience, none of which qualifies him to be president. He is far to the left. He gives a decent speech. For whatever reason, he came about at the right time in the zeitgeist.

Looking at Palin, the left sees Obama and the leftist id screams out irrationally because they know he's not qualified to be president.

Anonymous said...

The health care bill is clearly unconstitutional unless another justification besides interstate commerce can be found for it.

This is not to say that universal health care is unconstitutional. This way of getting there is.

$100 to anyone who can find anything interesting Danielle has ever said. Ever.

i still dont understand how people take sarah palin seriously in a quest to hold public office, whether it be for governor, VP, or God forbid, a presidential run.

It is just that when graded on a curve against Obama, Biden and McCain, she looks like the second coming of George Washington.

Of all the people on the 2008 Presidential tickets, she's the only one whose time in office might not have been a disaster for America.

LoafingOaf said...

Since I don't feel like playing two long YouTube clips of a woman who demonstrated in the last camapaign that she didn't know jack squat about anything, if Palin actually said anything important to my existance in this speech I hope someone will simply post the quote. I realie that Althouse has been giving her blogospheric cunnilingus for the past couple years, but most of the country does not hang on the woman's every word, sorry!

Instead of playing the clips, I randomly clicked on points to see the Fox News text below her, and it said, "Palin: We salute the U.S. military" (yawn); "Palin: We've got some big problems to solve" (amazing observation - you're the Thomas Jefferson of our time!); and "Palin: Job number one is to bring economy back to life" (yes, the economy that the Bush administration nearly brought to a complete and total meltdown). Well, it doesn't look I'm missing out on anything if I skip playing the full clips.

The one bit of audio I caught by accident (I was trying to avoid her annoying-as-fuck voice) was that you should pull up on a Subaru driver with an Obama sticker and say, "So how's that hopey-changey thing working out for ya?" There's been a few changes under Obama, most for the better. Thanks for asking.

BTW, I wouldn't have known this Showndown in Whereever thing was taking place if I hadn't checked on Althouse's blog out of old time's sake. But I guess it's a revolution! :o

LoafingOaf said...

So, Meade was a no-show at the big revolutionary activities today? What will he tell his grandchildren? Well, it's okay, 99% of America had no idea this event was even taking place. I bet Sarah Palin made some money out of it though!

30 years from now people will still be talking about being at the "Conservative Woodstock", and how a tingle went up their spines when Sarah Palin told the assembled crowd that we have problems to solve, we support the troops, and if you see a Subaru driver with an Obama sticker, pull up on him and ask how that hopey-changey thing is going!

LoafingOaf said...

This was billed by Althouse as the "Conservative Woodstock". Looks like just another stupid political rally to me. Even she was a no-show.

OMG, they planned a "Conservative Woodstock" and hardly anyone showed up! :o

Pretty pathetic. If I didn't happen to read some of these blogs for old time's sake, I wouldn't have even known this event had taken place And I'm pretty sure 99% of America has no idea it took place. The turnout looks really small.

The Conservative Woodstock was a failure.....

Anonymous said...

Loafing Oaf cares so little about this convention that he dedicated some half a dozen comments telling the whole world how he doesn't care about it.

We get it, Oaf. You don't care. You can stop hyperventilating and spouting about how little you care about the subject. Because I think once you get to a dozen posts declaring your lack of care, people are going to start to suspect that maybe you actually care. Not me. But others.

LoafingOaf said...

Holy smokes. The silence in this thread is deafening! Althouse used to get 400 comments in short order by just mentioning Sarah Palin's name. This event she billed as the "Conservative Woodstock", yet I'm pretty much the only person commenting. I guess obama really did fuck them up last weekend....

"This was billed by Althouse as the "Conservative Woodstock". Looks like just another stupid political rally to me. Even she was a no-show. OMG, they planned a "Conservative Woodstock" and hardly anyone showed up! :o"

Oaf ... you really need to get back on script with your talking points.

And there you have it folks ... this is what counts for astute political observation in the Democrat Party. Why, even MSNBC estimated the crowd at over 9,000.

That's right. On the spur of the moment, in the middle of a desert, in a town 1,000 miles from nowhere, Sarah Palin is able to muster more people than Barack Obama could in the middle of Cincinnati, Ohio selling his health care tax increase.

That the usual suspects have been dispatched to ridicule Ms. Palin is like the canary in the coal mine. They despise her precisely because they know she will destroy them.

Nobody showed up, eh? I laugh at your inability to even get the talking point correct Oaf. You're a horrid spokesman for the Democrat Party if even the apparachics at MSNBC are destroying your talking points.

Anonymous said...

Meade and Palladian are generally known here as comics. Perhaps you are stupid and didn't get the joke.

But that can't be, right, since you are a leftist. You are smarter than everyone else. Even though the conservatives have all the money and power, except the hicks with no teeth. It's a very complex demonology, I know.

LoafingOaf said...

I think I see the penis you're referring to in the still on the first clip. I guess they were popping boners for awhile. But the portions of the clips I saw, the penis is gone. Must've gone limp.

LoafingOaf said...

You think Palladian is a comic? Last weekend I saw him throwing utterly humorless and angry "fuck yous" and other un-provoked obscenities at even the nicest people dissenting from his politics. I'm pretty sure he'd have spat in people's faces if it was in real life. Oh, wait, Althouse said the Tea Partiers are TOO NICE! I'm probably just making that up?!

BTW, I'm not a leftist.

And a lot of the others here were going on about how American as they knew it had come to an end.

I don't know much about Meade, but he is clearly an ideologue, and he's the one who sat on a bus for 48 hours to hang out with people who were so whipped up in a screaming frenzy that their saliva was literally hitting passerbys. I am a simple man. The last group of people brought my country to the brink of economic collapse. So, I wanted a new group of people to work on things and hope they get better results. I don't know what the results will be, yet, but at the very least the people with pre-existing health conditions can now get health insurance -- so it seems like this new group has better priorities than the last group. I know, the tenured law professor bloggers like InstaPundit and Althosue - who already have great health insurance - think that that's an outrage and wish Obama would be more like Sarah Palin.

@Oaf,

Interesting comments. I agree you're simple (we couldn't just expand medicare/medicaid to cover uninsured? , or create a one page law mandating coverage of folks with prexisting conditions?). This is a 2700 page power grab with all sorts of garbage which will ruin medical device R&D while bankrupting the country (know anything about bond rates genius, or follow any corporate announcements on profit impact lately (I know, the SEC is forcing companies to embarass "the Zero").

But, it's all good because oaf noticed the Medicare Part
D expansion was poorly thought out, and the TARP offended a lot of people. So we'll take those same mistakes, multiply them by a 100, and force them down people's throats on a party line vote. Ah yes, oaf, the thinking man's political philosopher.

Looking at Palin, the left sees Obama and the leftist id screams out irrationally because they know he's not qualified to be president.

So he says nothing that indicates having a brain should be part of the equation. Not so surprising.

Continue with the extravagant flamboyance of brainlessness, little Macho man. And keep your penis erect lest a flaccid state deflate the size of your brain even further.

Ritmo, notice conservatives didnt elect our celebutante President.

Can progressives make similar claims?

This thread is probably dead but I'll give it a go anyway.

Here's the challenge for Danielle and Seven Machos.

So we know well how Danielle feels about Sarah Palin and Seven fells about Barack Obama.

The challenge for both of you is to explain why many folks think highly of these two.

And you need to do it without resorting to "They're stupid!"

That's the Cross of St. Andrew, patron saint of Scotland, on the Alabama flag, according to law. It may look like the Cross of St. Patrick, but I'm sure that's accidental. You could have counted the Irish Catholics in Alabama (and most of the South) before WWII on one hand.

WV - scons - blogger agrees: it's Scottish.

If people don't know the difference between sand and water half the time they will drink sand.

For a long while I thought Sarah was simply a cypher - a void - a nada. Now I recognize that she is an evil. She sucks people in, muggs them like a thug and steals their good common sense, and plays the shreds that are left like a cheap violin.

We agree on this, but probably not on who is getting played.

Except Obama is not as incompetent or corruptible as the celebu-pol Palin.

Ritmo Re-Animated said...

Yes, turtledove! We must earn the respect of Vladimir Putin! Everyone knows that's the sort of politician who's leading his country to success and power beyond anyone's dreams! If we can't appeal to Putin, whose admiration can we win?

Turtledove said...

Ritmo Brasiliero: Nobody want's Putin's admiration (except maybe leftists like yourself and fellow Democrats). Don't be disingenuous. Obama is an ideologue and incompetent. Putin is playing him like a cheap violin.

It's kind of hard when you're being such a damn hypocrite.

Learn the difference between disingenuousness and sarcasm.

Your opinion on Russian world domination is quite, er... interesting. Am I supposed to be impressed on a practical level that involves reason or am I supposed to just be "wowed" on the sensationalism of the claim alone?

damikesc said...

Ritmo, Palin didn't kill the USA's AAA bond rating, nor propose budgets that place the deficits at 90% of GDP, alienate allies, do nothing while Iran ramps up a nuke program, vote for massive spending hiles in a prior job and thn whine about how much spending she voted for.

Do you really want to tout the Big Zero's competency?

Also, again, conservatives didn't put their celebutante into office...progressives did.

Turtledove said...

Ritmo: Not possible to have a discussion with you. You are obviously an Obamabot. I hope you are enjoying his Presidency as much as Putin. I didn't say "world domination" - you need to learn to read for comprehension.

Ritmo Re-Animated said...

Also, again, conservatives didn't put their celebutante into office...progressives did.

This is incidental. Just because she lost doesn't mean the conservatives didn't vote to put her into office. And they still would.

Ritmo: Not possible to have a discussion with you.

I know. That "reason" thing keeps getting in the way. What a shame.

You are obviously an Obamabot.

I'm sure there are credible criticisms to make of Obama. Pity you're incapable of making them. Pity the GOP isn't capable of making them or of fielding better ideas and candidates, too. But that's your loss. I'll worry about it when I see someone less cynical than McCain and Palin leading your party.

I didn't say "world domination"

You didn't have to. It was implied by your remark.

- you need to learn to read for comprehension.

And you need to learn to read for context and reason.

Is the United States not the most powerful nation in the world? If it is, then if Russia is able to bring us down and do its bidding (as you suppose), then does Russia not now dominate global politics?

Make up your freaking mind, dude.

By all means, feel free to restrict your conversations to people who only agree with you beforehand or are not smart enough to question your assumptions.

It's kind of like a conversation between Putin and Medvedev.

damikesc said...

So, noting that progressives actually DID something you are sure conservatives would do if they had the chance is incidental? Obama is an empty suit who is now President...thanks for that.

Ritmo Re-Animated said...

No, you can thank independent voters for that, damikesc. But it's not like your seething contempt for them wasn't already sufficiently visible over the last eight years.

And you keep dismissing the brain inside that empty suit.

People are tired of voting for idiots. Maybe you might want to recognize that.

I can't believe that Sarah Palin takes money for appearances and book deals. How can I possibly take her seriously when she is not poor like Barbara Boxer and Dianne Feinstein, for example?

damikesc said...

Ritmo, only the blindest of true believers still confuse the Big Zero for a genius. The man is naive to a laughable extent and not terribly able to comprehend the repurcussions of his actions. I've seen no more genius out of him than I did out of Bush.

You best pray the voters can still vote for idiots. Obama lacks a chance if they cannot.

Seven: Also, way to misconstrue Instapundit. If you were in any way worthwhile, I would explain why.

InstaPundit posted this: Possibly Obama just hates Israel and hates Jews. That’s plausible -- certainly nothing in his actions suggests otherwise, really.

Typical of InstaPundit, he posts shit like that with a lawyer/liar update pre-prepared for when people call him out on it. Because he knew what he was doing.

He's a fraud. He's been going on all year about how people play the race card too quick, but then he encouraged people to think Obama hates Jewish people. Based on what? A slight deviation from InstaPundit's desired foreign policy?

but what do you expect from a dude who's married to a shrink who believes that psychiatry should be used to "cure" homosexuals of their homosexuality.

I was waiting to see Obama's speech in Afghanistan, and so I caught the tail end of C-SPAN's coverage of the "Conservative Woodstock". It was pathetic! Some big fat cheesburger eating woman was yelling some stupid shit and what sounded like a crowd of a few hundred clapped. This was no big event. It was a dud. Billed as a "Woodstock" level event by this blog! ROFL!

LoafingOaf said...

Oh, wow, the Althouse hillbillies agree with my assertion that I am a simple man. Yes I am! But quite obviously they are simple men and women too. In fact, more simple than me, because they are nothing more than partisan talking points robots. But they think they're so smart, because they spend every day posting whatever the GOP machine tells them too. ROFL! BTW, the original Woodstock had 500,000 people.

Here's what Instapundit said in its entirety:

WHY HAS BARACK OBAMA TREATED NETANYAHU SO RUDELY? “Obama would never treat the president of Equatorial Guinea that way.”

Possibly Obama just hates Israel and hates Jews. That’s plausible — certainly nothing in his actions suggests otherwise, really.

But it’s also possible — I’d say likely — that there’s something else going on. I think Obama expects Israel to strike Iran, and wants to put distance between the United States and Israel in advance of that happening. (Perhaps he even thinks that treating Israel rudely will provoke such a response, saving him the trouble of doing anything about Iran himself, and avoiding the risk that things might go wrong if he does). On the most optimistic level, maybe this whole thing is a sham, and the U.S. is really helping Israel strike Iran, with this as distraction. The question for readers is which of these — not necessarily mutually exclusive — explanations is most plausible.

UPDATE: Glenn Greenwald refers to the above speculation — which I regard as favorable to Obama, since it suggests he knows what he’s doing instead of merely being, you know, a snot — as “bizarre conspiracy theories.” He then proceeds to demonstrate his usual lack of comprehension by conflating treatment of Israel by the United States with treatment of Netanyahu by Obama. Yeah, Israel gets a lot of support from the United States, because the United States electorate is pretty supportive, which over the years has led Congress to appropriate money and pass laws in ways that help Israel. This hardly suggests that Obama himself is equally supportive, and, in fact, his behavior suggests quite the opposite. It’s telling that — as usual — Greenwald can only criticize a post of mine by misrepresenting it and attacking a straw man. Pathetic.

Are you stupid or are you merely seeking to criminally misrepresent someone who has more influence than you could possibly dream of?

My guess is stupid.

Wow! What a woman.

Sarah Palin could turn this country around and back onto the right path in 4 years.

LoafingOaf said...

Seven: The question isn't whether I am smart or stupid, or whether I have political influence or not. I've never claimed to be smart (I went to law school because law school is easy -- mostly just pure memorization!) and I've never claimed to seek influence. And we all agree that InstaPundit has political influence. He's worked very hard for many years to be a politically influencial blogger. And, with that acquired, he now gets a real kick out of posting bullshit like: "Possibly Obama just hates Israel and hates Jews. That’s plausible — certainly nothing in his actions suggests otherwise, really."

Yes, he has a lot of political influence, and the way he uses that influence is despicable.

Loaf -- Your attempt at half-quoting is miserable and a failure. What you've done is the equivalent of leaving a movie 20 minutes in and claiming that the plot wasn't fully developed.

You are Glenn Greenwald with no talent, wit, or ability to be brief. Think about how sad and sorry that is.

You really, really, really suck at this game.

The silence in this thread is deafening! Althouse used to get 400 comments in short order by just mentioning Sarah Palin's name.

Seven: You keep posting messages about what "comics" you Althouse Hillbillies are, what "wits" you think you all are, blah blah blah. This is a fever swamp of right-wing talking points and intolerance.

And however dumb I am, however poor a writer I am, however whatever I am, you're not gonna convince me that I should respect InstaPutz for writing: "Possibly Obama just hates Israel and hates Jews. That’s plausible — certainly nothing in his actions suggests otherwise, really."

He can put all the updates in spin control mode that he wants. He knows what he posted. He smiled to himself when he posted it. Oh, I just spotted that Andrew Sullivan nominated him for his Hugh Hewitt award for it, too.

BTW, Althouse doesn't call InstaPundit out on anything because she needs him for hits.

"The last group of people brought my country to the brink of economic collapse."

Perhaps this is true, but it's more likely a dire confluence of events more than 20 years in the making. (The housing bubble to be specific.)

Not even the Executive branch can lay claim to being able to manipulate the dynamics of the U.S. economy on such a wide scale as to orchestrate a complete collapse.

There were many many ingredients in this shit batter, that's for sure.

It's unfortunate no politico really is daring enough to call out the morons who financed mortgages they flat out couldn't afford. it's those damn predatory lenders, forcing people into subprime mortgages with a gun to their head.
