The polar bears should be down soon. The first week of March has always been warm and gentle springtime in Atlanta, but not this year. It is dark, freezing and wet. We want our fun, beautiful and colorful days back or we will refuse to procreate, maybe.
The men on Idol this week were so much better than last week. Some are still obvious cannon fodder, however -- John, Jermaine, Todrick, Tim. Alex was a million times better. That little kid is not getting better, and neither is the guy who sang Paula Abdul during Hollywood week. Simon said Tim was better this week, but I'm sick already of his cheesy grin. I really wonder what his normal smile looks like. It can't be that grin he throws out all the time, it simply cannot.
Interesting picture. Stonehenge-y, but reminiscent of one of those places where the Indians would stop with their captives in tow on the march back to Fort Dearborn to settle up with the Hair Buyer.
Finally looks as if we'll see the end of the snow this weekend. If only it's true (I mean, who believes the weatherman any more?).
Speaking of "American Idol:" "American Idol" made an appearance at the Olympics! U.S. Silver Medalists in Ice Dancing, Charlie White and Meryl Davis, performed their exhibition dance to David Cook's version of Billie Jean.
This clip is from the U.S. Nationals, but it's the same routine. The dance begins at about 1:41.
madawaskan, thanks for the link to Paul Ryan's letter. He made a lot of good points. His observation that Congress does not have a good track record in making tough cost cutting decisions was amply demonstrated just this week in the vote on extending unemployment benefits. In spite of just passing PAy Go, the Senate was not willing to pay for the unemployment extension in a way that wasn't just borrowing the money and adding to the deficit.

Wow! It's like you had my glasses for a lens.
The second page of the meerkat pop-up is finished. It's not the second page of the packet, it's the second page that's finished.

Rep. Ryan's Open Letter to Ezra Klein
