"Nice work with the hug dodge."

Obama to Bono.

Such a coward. If Boner were truly a man of his convictions he would have hugged President Bush and administered an atomic wedgie.

Considering how much Bono had worked together with President Bush on African aid issues. I'm surprised he wasn't willing to share a hug with a fellow Christian.

What an asshole Bono is. Bush did more for Africa than any American president ever (including Obama btw) and worked closely with Bono on that topic. How about being glad for that. If Bono disagrees with Bush on other matters of policy he should have the balls to openly say why or shut up, not to ack like a snarky little bitch and then disclose this story later on. So Obama and Bono are now petty high school girls?

How revealing.

Keep in mind that Bono once spent $1500 to flaw his hat 1st class to one of his concerts (cause he forgot it). So when you have so much money as to piss it away on something that stupid, it's obvious he isn't impressed with the measly $18 billion Bush spent on Africa.

Bono is a fuckwit.

That should say fly. Obviously.

"U 2, Bono?"

It's a betrayal by someone who once both urged and acknowledged Bush's efforts towards Africa.

It's a shame that Bono feels the need to take his turn stabbing Bush like everyone else.

DId his stick out his tongue after?

And Obama making that statement really shows how petty he is. That's the kind of stuff girls do.

There is nothing like a confession to make one feel better, not to mention (in the case of Bono) important.

I do that all the time; I must confess.

Shows just how classy Obama is - NOT - as if we needed more examples.

I lost respect for Bono, too. Bush probably did more for Africa & AIDS than all previous POTUSes combined. Some thanks from the rockstar grandstander - but hey, he got an "attaboy" from the O, so I'm sure that made Bono's day (since he made it a point to repeat the story).

Hey! I resemble that remark.

By "dodge" I thought you meant the transfer of all Bono's royalties from Ireland to the Netherlands in order to avoid Irish taxes.

It made sense that Obama would congratulate him for a tax dodge because Obama seems to enjoy working with liberal tax dodgers.

Boner can't carry Geldof's jockstrap, at least in the class department (to mangle a metaphor or two).

He dodged a hug at a prayer breakfast? Wouldn't that be a place to put aside political differences for a moment? You're supposed to be joining together in Christian fellowship, and you can't stomach a hug from someone in an opposing political party? Give me a break.

And Obama making that statement really shows how petty he is. That's the kind of stuff girls do.

Agreed. Very childish.

He also probably did more harm through his religious- fundamentalist stance on the "gag rule". Some of the same family clinics that were helping Aids victims were prevented to do so by Bush. Let's not give to much credit.

Real Christians don't initiate illegal invasions of sovereign nations that results in the deaths of 100's of 1,000's of innocent civilians and 1,000's of American soldiers.

The asshole doesn't deserve a hug, he deserves a kick in the balls.

I can't imagine why Obama was even at a prayer breakfast. Maybe he thought it would remind him of the good old Jew-hating days at Trinity.

This is why I never could have voted for Obama.

He rode in on the hatred, absolute hatred of one man, and the scapegoating of everything on to that one person.

It's a mental disease truly to blame everything on one person or a group of people.

And it really is indicative of many on the left's mind set.

They are never responsible for anything.

All is due to some external locus of control.

Pathetic, and they'll excuse bad behaviour and enable evil til kingdom come.

Chennaul said...

Man am I glad I didn't vote for the equivalent of the High School Prom King-although I've known prom kings with more humility, less pettiness and more maturity than that.

Oh they'll all go hug Hugo, though...

Looking for a higher pay-grade?

Diamondhead said...

It occurs to me Althouse should have included the "lameness" tag. Congratulating someone for their lack of taste and decency is supremely lame.

Diamondhead said...

Lol Lem. Appealing to a higher pay-grade...

Invisible -

Never let facts get in the way of your talking points, k?

Dybul also says it is unfair to accuse the U.S. of overemphasizing abstinence because PEPFAR is a major supplier of condoms to the targeted African countries. For instance, PEPFAR figures show 60 million condoms going to Zambia, 40 million to Rwanda, 145 million to Ethiopia in the past five years.

And this is from MSNBC, no friend of Bush or Republicans in general. Shame that you can't even give the man the credit that those he worked so hard to help can.

You keep on working those Leftist talking points about Republicans hate black people and are all fundamentalist Christians though. Those facts that show you're a complete liar are just pesky little things, and they'll go away if you just keep lying enough.
