Next up for Obama:

"tout-en-commun" with the French!

O he's not that great. He's no king or messiah like many conservatives think.

Funny! Except that for Muslims in general (though there no doubt are many individual exceptions) history — certainly important history — does not exist prior to the origin of Islam. Muslim Egyptians generally care nothing for ancient Egypt and its pharaohs.

Listening to the reaction of an "advisor" to the Muslim Brotherhood on NPR last night, it was clear that he was listening for one thing, and one thing only, in Obama's words.

Surrender.

Nobody is sure whether they got it, yet anyway. That it's still an open question, after Obama's speech, is unsettling.

Ha ha ha. I love it! Thought this went ignored on the Egypt thread.

Nice going ;)

Actually Israel and Egypt have had an ongoing peace treaty since 1979. They both have embassies in each others countries. Make what you will of that.

I hate the fact that other people, especially muzzies love our president.

It was so much better to be hated throughout the world.

One of the guys in the building did the landscaper. She was working real hard. I give her props. She was out there with them all day yesterday and she hit a pot of gold.

"I am working on a piece done in hemp macrame, whale bone and shells, celebrating Obama’s attainment of 10% unemployement in his first few months in office!!

Its a remarkable accomplishment that the whole country, and Republicans, can be proud of and celebrate. I hope the Times will post photos when I am finished." - Louis Tully

*The above is a comment left on the NYT arts blog. The NYT arts blog asked for artwork of the president. onparkstreet left the following comment:

"I am torn between creepiness at the adulation of a political leader and admiration at the very real talent on display in this examples of artwork.

Oh, what the heck! Cool art + silly-dreamy-dream-time-wishful-thinking leads to something interesting….."

I do like the artwork. Even if it is kinda dreamy-creepy-good - it's still good :)

Happy Friday, all!

I, personally, am working on an art piece (collage, of course) done with bottle caps, glitter, old Vogue magazines, and my own tears: A Portrait of the President, with Love.

When it is finished, I will post if for you all to see.....

Or, not.

Gene Olson, a sad teacher at Santa Monica state, came here just to call names.

Dude, if you hate this site so much, why do you comment so often?

I have seen a trend - by the end of the week your meds need to be titrated and your posts get increasingly strange.

Visit the pharmacy, take what they tell you, when they tell you to, and don't comment here until you are all better.

See, that was easy.

That part was disturbing.

The Obama worship is also disturbing and frightening.

ricpic said...

Rasmussen just reported that Obama's disapproval rating, 34% strongly disapprove of his "performance," is exactly the same as his approval rating, 34%. More and more Americans are on to His Royal Stupidity. Soon baby, soon.

To know ricpic is to be horny for him, Titus.

Actually, I've known a few Egyptians and they were incredibly proud of Egypt's pharonic heritage. What's more, they both loved the Brendan Fraser Mummy movies!

Ron said...

I thought Chip Ahoy was pharaoh!

KCFleming said...

Did you know Obama invented algebra?

traditionalguy said...

The Pharoah's movable stuff is mostly in Museums in NYC, Chicago, and London. They may want it back. The Egyptians descended from the ethnics pre-dating their conquest by Arabs are mostly up-River and many are members in the oldest Organized Christian Church called Coptic started in 80 AD in Alexandria by an apostle called John Mark. They don't see why Rome's Peter was so special. The Copt's services are chanted in 3 languages, Greek, Arabic, and ancient Egyptian. Takes hours to just do the creeds in a slow sing song chant one language at a time. But just under the surface they are still enamored of the Powers of Nefertiti, Tutenkhaman, and Ramses I et al.. The spiritual realm is said to be eternal, and these Egyptian rulers, who once exercised it all, still attract their wistful attention.

Smilin' Jack said...

What's more, they both loved the Brendan Fraser Mummy movies!

The first one was good; the sequels sucked. Interesting that the only significant cultural legacy of what was once the world's greatest civilization is mummy movies.

KCFleming said...

Ramses invented the prophylactic.

His reign came to an inglorious end when he was found in a hotel room closet in Bangkok with a rope tied around his wiener dog.

Pharaohs weren't supposed to have weiner dogs, you see.
Not cool.

ricpic said..."Millions worship this nullity. Hollow out people's beliefs and they'll worship emptiness personified. The Left has done its job well."

Well, you got that right, "millions" do approve of this President's work thus far.

And keep in mind, "millions and millions and millions" of Americans voted for and elected him, too.

So where does that put YOU?

On the far outside looking in.

Jeremy said...

AJ Lynch "Did you know Obama invented Jeremy aka Gene Olson of Santa Monica College?"

I hope to God no one here is bothering this poor guy named Gene who evidently teaches at Santa Monica College.

And if you do, I hope he goes after you for interfering in his life in any way, shape or form.

You people are absolutely brain dead.

Did you know that Obama invented karate? He did so during a prior earthly life. He also invented the light bulb, but the details of how he accomplished this are not yet known.

Fen said...

Too funny. Nicely done Chip.

Jeremy: So where does that put YOU?

Sidebets at 2-1 that when Obama screws up, Jeremy's response to it will be "dude we WON, get over it".

I still can't believe that retard teaches someone's kids. Boy are they getting screwed.

I've been scrolling through the artwork on the Time website. A few of the submission are truly crreepy: #29 has a Linda Blair quality; not sure what the artist saw thre; #49, Obama as Mr. T, very interesting; #56, WTF? - nuclear explosion?; #72, Obama as Extra-terrestrial.

The Dude said...

Nice riposte, Gene, but here's the thing - you have claimed you are married, but I sense that it is not going well for you.

You keep making homosexual overtures to people you don't even know here, and while there are some that might take you up on that, you really ought to consider behaving in a way that better keeps your marriage vows.

Talk to your wife. If she continues to refuse to fellate you, then maybe it is time for a divorce.

Well, you got that right, "millions" do approve of this President's work thus far.

Actually, this President's personal approval rating thus far is a couple of points above Nixon, but below Reagan, Eisenhower and JFK.

His policies aren't doing as well, particularly the stimulus and acquisition of the auto makers.

Jim said...

You would think an educator could come up with a riposte at least several degrees better than noting his availablity for a little Brokeback action.

Oh...and the empty threats of lawsuits for some cause of action he just made up on the spot was a nice touch too...

Obama's defenders are quickly showing they're as short-tempered and humorless as His Royal Egoness, and they're dropping faster than his approval ratings (net zero approval after less than six months...OUCH...that's gotta hurt.)

I'm Full of Soup said...

Yeah yeah Gene. You are a liberal and so whenever you feel some duress, you threaten to sue someone. What a surprise.

Hey it's happy hour somewhere- have a great weekend everyone even you Gene.
