A note to dog-lovers: The picture was taken last Sunday afternoon, when I sat with her for hours. And we would never tie a dog up and leave it alone.

Reminds me of the illustration for "The Man Who Sold Rope to the Gnoles" in Hitchcock's book "Monster Museum."

Prognosticating as we approach 2010...

Will Obama say: "Et tu, Blue Dog?"

I'm thinking about the people in Iran this morning.

I'm wondering what Obama feels about Kitty Genovese.

Where's Michael H? Do I have to go over there and see where he is?

Iran is but a small price to pay for our Lady Di death effect of gratuitous, hedonistic, virtuosity earned by the election of Obama.

We are not about to let Iran crash our party are we?

Tell Iran we are busy.

Summertime and the living is easy...Schools out...pools are open...U S Open is going on...Thank God for our traditions that make us free to speak what we think and free to enjoy the fruits of our own labor and our own inheritance from our own families. NoBama cannot take that away for re-distribution to his gang memebers without a fight.

Very seldom comment. As usual Althouse has presented a fine photo that stands on it's own merit, and as usual some of you are unable to view the photo without some how bringing the current President into the conversation in some manner.

Are some of you really so obsessed with Obama that you can think of nothing else? If so, Why?

For God's sake get a grip and get a life. Enjoy the pictures, enjoy the Open, enjoy a craft brew or some freshley ground coffee, read a good book under a shade tree.

Althouse offers plenty of Obama commentary, comment on those, stay out of the ones that are just for fun.

Micael H appears to be in the middle of the woods in Deadwood, SD. By now he's probably in Wyoming.

How do you get internet in the middle of the woods in SD? Is there a Panera or Mc Donald's there?

Meanwhile Althouse does a great study in blue of ... mmm ... forgot her name, and has a close encounter with a harmless bug, and Hasenstab is having the ride of his life. Is it cold or hot in SD / WY?

Think I need to get going today. Except it is 94 outside. And my neighbor is mowing (!)

Just a little over two months after my accident, I've finally gotten knee surgery scheduled. It's set for next Wednesday, and I'll chime in about it again before it happens.

Dogs - me neither.

"Same Sex Marriage" Proponents - oh hell yes.

jace, you don't appear to know what an Althouse Cafe is or is for.

If I'm sitting at the diner, do I have to stay on topic of the picture hanging on the wall?

The male bull and bison always keeps quite a harem. His antlers serve to protect interlopers, and also help to "service the ladies" and promote fertility.

Once the species is sufficiently propagated, the exhausted male bull retires into the wilderness quite peacefully, and turns the harem over to a younger counterpart.

Ann Althouse said...

Antlers?

It's Maxine Professor. What do you expect?

Doberman detects and answers distant siren, video.

You really need only one siren and an army of deployed Dobermans to repeat it county-wide.
