"Dad is grooving on it, joking... looking forward to the moment he can post it...."

Should we condemn druggy dentist boy's dad?

Well, should we?
Yes.
No.
Eh.

You should stop using pollcode. It's lame. Twiigs.com is better. When you vote, the results show up right on the page and you don't get redirected over to the pollcode page. Trust me. Use Twiigs.com!

No, but do find it strange that he's sat on that bit of comedy gold for half a year (says in description the surgery was in the summer).

Also, we shouldn't condemn the person who mashed-up David+Christian Bale, or those that chopped it up and set the thing to a techno-beat.

Oh, the Christian Bale thing was hilarious... and wrong... and hilarious because wrong....

I'd like to see someone combine David's "Is this real life?" with "Bohemian Rhapsody" ("Is this the real life?").

Poor kid.
And yes, I though it was funny, but still.
Poor kid.

That would have been down the memory hole in years past. Now it's part of his fookin' identity. From this point on, Dad will YouTube all of life's embarrassing moments.

Thanks Dad!

Does anyone actually just live life anymore, rather than experience it from behind a camera?

Why do YOU care?

There are over 100 million videos presented on YouTube...every day of the week.

When I watched that video, the mom in me just wanted to grab that kid and hold him and tell him that it was going to be okay.

At the same time, though, I laughed my ass off. It reminded me of college.

Michael -- What do YOU care that Althouse cares?

This will go on FOREVER!

Isn't that childhood in a nutshell?

ricpic said...

Oops. That should have been --

Will this go on FOREVER?

Even better.

I think little David can exact his revenge by videotaping a choice moment in Daddy's life and posting it on YouTube. Wouldn't that be funny? "Daddy and the UPS Man "Telling Secrets" while Mommy was Away"... "Daddy After 1/2 Liter of Johnny Walker Red Talking about his Boss". Keep a camera handy, David.

Yay! Queen music mention.

A couple of points: as I said in the comments section of the poll, I had the same sort of experience; it just didn't end up on the internet. As for revenge, any yearbook will do.

It really doesn't take much imagination at all to foresee the day when everything else stops and everybody just starts killing everybody else.

Maybe we're already there.

As for defending Christian Bale, bad behavior is bad behavior. I know enough people in the business who would never behave that way regardless of the circumstances. Courtesy for the other folks who had to suffer through that tirade comes to mind.

I sent that to my partner with the subject line "funny but kind of sad" and she replied "it's like your parents showing a date your baby pictures TIMES THE WHOLE FUCKING WORLD."

I actually stopped watching. (Who knew? I can watch splatter-punk while eating a gooey pasta dish but here's my weakness.)

On the other hand, I love Bale's tantrum (and Paul Anka's before it). Bale is a really fine actor and he apparently takes it seriously.

How many times was he supposed to let the D of P get in there and mess things up?

Why bother having kids if you can't laugh at them? And really, it was nice of David's dad to share.

Ironically, my first attempt to post was thwarted by a head butt from my two year old. Think he can read?

Not quite the Queen/David mash-up Althouse wanted, but an interesting bit of web fun, nevertheless.

Digg community sings Bohemian Rhapsody (inspired by David After Dentist).

All right! A posting and poll so people can express faux outrage.

"All right! A posting and poll so people can express faux outrage."

Has anyone here expressed outrage, faux or otherwise?
