So how was the ginger beer? Was it the brewed or carbonated variety? (I understand that there are both kinds.)

Pat, that's a plum royale... champagne, with plum. (Not a an olive.)

The ginger thing is some kind of Japanese beer -- real beer, but with some ginger in it. The brand is Hitachino.

That Wild Hog wine was bizarrely intoxicating. It was good, but be careful!
