I thought it was the fuckin' gong show. If it wasn't for Sarah Palin, I'd move to fuckin' Sweden. It's pretty pathetic. I don't think you can be "pretty pathetic." It's mighty pathetic. Barack Obama, I guess if you want to be Mao Tse Tung I suppose you can be. I just don't think you should be the president of America. Call me weird. If you really study the Communist Party of America, if you go to their website and check out their bullet points, it is the Democrat Party bullet points. It is Barack Obama....I thought you might enjoy some red meat...
Barack, fuck you. Joe, fuck you. John McCain, God bless you for discovering a Republican with massive amounts of balls. The good governor, Sarah Palin, is the bureaucrat-crushing, status quo-punching conservative that I've been looking for. I knew of her before John did, I had worked with Gov. Palin on numerous issues up in Alaska, where she proved she was a "we the people" person and not a bureaucrat monger. We are voting Republican this year, not because of John McCain as much as for Sarah Palin.
Though, I feel embarrassed to even say this, I have seen minor indicators of late, maybe starting 30 days ago, that John McCain is starting to come back to the basics, at least acknowledging the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and maybe even the Golden Rule and the Ten Commandments, dare I say. We are voting Republican, because we see that Barack Obama's voting record, not what he has been so cleverly scripted to say, but his voting record. If the guy likes France so much, why won't he just go there? Why would you want to turn America into France? There's already a France. That's the way I see it. It's a clusterfuck, and it's heartbreaking, really.

My dear lady, please do not lower yourself to curry favor with your fan boys. It is beneath you.
I haven't listened to Ted since the Amboy Dukes, circa Journey to the Center of the Mind.
Beat up old rocker for sale.
Please call Ted Nugent.
P.S. I can be found playing at county fairs to literally dozens of people!
Sarah is the one with steel in her spine.
Hey, I saw that first .
Ahh...that's our Ted.
I thought you might enjoy some red meat...
ROFL, no doubt. Your commenters can roll around in this post and get it all over themselves until they smell like it.
It will make them feel better. For sure.
What exactly is so bad about France?
Great food.
Beautiful women.
Fashion awareness--people care how they look.
Beautiful scenery and venues.
Sense of history.
Bidets in the hotels.
Taxes are too high you say? Well, I say you get what you pay for.
"I thought you might enjoy some red meat..."
Sorry, I gave it up for Lent. Yes, I know Lent is months away. But you see, I'm one of those early Lenters who are fasting up in record numbers.
"What exactly is so bad about France?"
The French.
Yeah, that's our Ted.
However, at least he's not calling for unconditional surrender along with a stern admonishment that "we should expect this so shut yer traps."
How about some Hannity.
Or, even better; Savage.
Aside:
Isn't it funny how the professional radio conservatives have grudges against each other?
Savage hates BillO and Rush and pretty much everyone.
Levin hates BillO and Savage, but he loves Rush and Hannity.
Rush hates BillO.
Common denominator?
common denominator:
1. "grudge" != "hate" unless you're moving the goalpost
2. If they all thought alike, what would your snark be?
miller,
You should school Rush on what "hate" means.
He says BHO "hates America."
1pbj -
How does that answer your original snark?
Aren't you changing the subject?
Cheers,
One of us is taking my comment more seriously than the other.
You can guess our roles.
Women feel that Mao Tse Tung meant well.
1jpb,
Don't worry, you won't have to tolerate Rush much longer; the Party of Tolerance will soon see to that.
Common denominator?
They all ducked the draft in the 60's? Include Nugent, who literally shit himself for a week to get a deferment.
No, I can't.
Guess, that is.
As long as we're going to bring up the distant past, did you know that John McCain divorced his first wife?
In the meantime, we can't discuss anything Bambi's done any closer than last week. That doesn't put food on our chil'ren's table.
I think HBO hates America.
Otherwise why did they cancel Deadwood for some surfer bullshit.
Maybe Ted and Todd could do one of those survival TV shows.
The Nuge rules. Everybody should read God, Guns, and Rock and Roll.
Ted would be happy in France. People hunt all over the place. As a US hunter, he wouldn't have to take the licensing exam.
Does anybody know who Peter Frampton is supporting?
That could be decisive.
Fuck Ted Nugent. Washed up piece of shit.
I had the missfortune to attend one of his concerts in Chicago in 76 or 77.
The asshole put his guitar on very very loud feedback and then walked off the stage. Completely stupid.
He was a one-hit wonder with Cat Scratch Fever, which was a stroke of luck. Zero talent.
Fuck Ted Nugent. He has nothing to contribute.
Ted Nugent also preaches political violence.
Fuck you, Ted Nugent.
Stranglehold . The song that keeps on givin'.
It's too bad Ted couldn't really sing. He would have made a good power trio
Come on some of you!
Lighten up!
It's a party!!!
Oh, everybody have fun tonight!
(Everybody have fun tonight.)
Everybody wango tango tonight!
(Everybody have fun tonight.)
Everybody wango tango tonight!
(Everybody have fun tonight.)
Ted is hardly alone in his sentiments.
Absent Ted's f-bombs and the communist rhetoric, I heard these same sentiments from several folks in the 12,000+ overflow crowd at the Palin/McCain rally (reverse order intentional) out here in Colorado Springs last month.
Sarah is a fresh Reagan-esque breeze after tolerating 8 years of Bush "big government conservatism." The conservative true believers out here in the Rocky Mountain heartland went crazy for Sarah. I have been to less raucous rock concerts. The cheering drowned out her first two minutes of comments. It appears to be the same all around fly over country as Sarah sets attendance records at her rallies that McCain can only envy and sets viewership records for her debate and SNL appearance.
The GOP talking heads living among the lib elites on the coasts are completely disconnected from the rest of America if they think that Sarah is anything other than an enormous plus for the McCain campaign. If McCain pulls this one out, it will be because Palin fired up the abandoned and dispirited conservative base and got them to polls. There are no shortage of conservative voters, but rather a shortage of conservative GOP pols to represent them. Sarah is helping to remedy that situation.
Greatest Ted Nugent story.
Lighten up? A hatemonger who calls for leading Democrats to suck his rifle is promoted and we're supposed to lighten up?
Fuck that. And fuck the hatemonger Ted Nugent.
And, Palin is George Bush in a skirt.
AL, how do your really feel?
AL,
Sometimes(?) you are such a loon. While some of the most disgusting, vile things have been directed at Palin, you have uttered nary a word, yet somehow a washed up rocker like TN is causing you to lose all sense of reality. Amazing.
Just like all my fellow Texans.
Hey, Ted, it's nice that you moved here to Texas and like it and all, but you moved here, what, a few years ago? From Michigan? Sorry, you need to be here a little longer than that to refer to other people who live here as "fellow Texans", especially if you moved here from a state that is north of the Mason-Dixon line. (Actually, scratch that last part, no other states really count, so you get no extra points for coming from any other states.) Your family doesn't have to have lived here since colonial times (like the family of yours truly), but at least give it a decade or so before you start playing the down-home Texan deal, okay? And no, you can't borrow my cowboy boots.
Love,
Somefeller
PS - Ritchie Blackmore from Deep Purple wants the riff from "Cat Scratch Fever" back. Yes, "Smoke on the Water" was a great song, but you don't get to take that either.

I last listened to Ted at a 1972 concert which was OK, but he was clearly a B level talent. He has resurrected himself as a spokesman for "kill 'em and grill 'em." Somehow, he has aged far less than me over the past 36 years. Diet? Clean Living?

Ann, A man is known by his admirers. Do you want to reconsider your support for The Messiah? Of course, you may simply dismiss Alpha Libby as post-adolescent with premature ejaculation problems. As a psychologist, I think it goes deeper that that.
Wow. Imagine what a charming person Alpha would be if his candidate was losing.
Well, take out the f-bombs and some of the despair, and I think that Nugent is pretty spot on. The Left's desire to remake America into a Euro-style social democracy certainly is something that is beyond dispute.
Yes indeed, the Left does want us to live in a version of France, but it will be a France created by joyless American leftists -- which means you can get forget about all the things that make France today tolerable: the food, the fashion, the sense of history, the cultural confidence, etc. All of those things are what make the socialism bearable there. Instead, we will all the detriments of French-style socialism without any of the benefits of French culture.
I heard Ted never took drugs...
I've heard the same.
Speaking of rock musicians who didn't take drugs-- God, I miss Frank Zappa. Now more than ever.
You know telling me what Ted Nugent thinks about this race is no big deal.
But if you can tell me who Rick Derringer is backing, well then I will be impressed.
Ted recently lent his skills to the Christian artist David Crowder Band's latest CD, Remedy. He plays on one track on the CD.
Spokane Mark nails it: France without "joie de vivre" would suck about as much as hanging out with humorless urbanite douchebags, or worse, letting them dictate the terms of your scope of freedoms.
But to this:
"Isn't it funny how the professional radio conservatives have grudges against each other?"
Levin loves Rush b/c Rush gave him his start, sort of; he used to be "F. Lee Levin", the one to whom Rush would refer for legal opinions during the 90's.
What I've found interesting in having heard a lot of Limbaugh and Hannity radio shows over the past several years is that Hannity often cites Rush as a leader of the movement, an icon, etc. (or at least he used to rather frequently - haven't been a listener for awhile), while Rush never refers to other hosts, and even in the rare instance he identifies other radio personalities, he never names Hannity among them.
Considering that Hannity seemingly came out of nowhere onto the national syndie scene and is a real ratings/penetration powerhouse now in a fairly short time, I can see why Rush wouldn't want to give him a leg up.
Interesting, though. In that sense, is every "movement" at heart really just a competition for glory among charismatic personalities?
It would be worth it if the McCain campaign made Wango Tango their theme music, just to watch Olbermanns head 'esplode!
Ted Nugent's endorsement is for shit.
Now, if someone could dial up Luthor Grosvenor, aka Aerial Bender, and ask him, that opinion would likely be a game-changer.
I, for one, am looking forward to our new socialist overlords. I want my check, my free stuff, my retirement, and I want it now.
May God bless and keep his humble servant, Barack Redacted Obama.
OK--I give up. who, precisely, is Ted Nugent--he must be an OK guy given AL's reaction to him.
WTF; I'm on the 23d floor in downtown LA right now, and I'm hearing a fucking bagpipe player from somewhere down below.
The end times, people. The end times...
I thought the lyric was "everybody wang chung tonight"?
an Obama tax plan ultimately puts us on a slippy slope to the end of democracy in the US. Aristotle made the point 2500 years ago. Democracies can succeed until the poor learn that they can use the ballot to steal from the rich.
half the country doesnt end up with an income tax liability. Yet Obama says he will lower income taxes for 95% of the people. That means that he will tax the top 5 percent sufficently to give back to the lower 95 percent including the checks to the bottom 50% who pay nothing now.
That tax increase on the job creators is before the taxes needed to fund all of his social programs.
increasing taxes and cutting private sector job creation is not the way to grow oneself out of a recession.
expect the recession to be longer and deeper if Obama is elected
VVV
Amazing Grace?
Scotland the Brave?
Flower of Scotland?
I expect those would be tbe three leaders if you were having a
funeral, rugby match or wedding, respectively
Well, that's the thing that bugs me.
The Left has all these places they can go, if they don't like it. The world is a smorgasbord of socialist more-or-less-democracies.
But what's the Right to do? The last time people who believed in freedom and self-reliance over bureaucracy and ossified institution had a place to go, they landed on Plymouth Rock.
We are dominant in so many ways globally, isn't it bizarre that a group of people gets traction by saying "Let's be just like everyone else"?
Oh, and, yeah. Ted Nugent. Whee.
Ted Nugent. Never had one. Is that a candy bar or what?
OK really I don't know why I gotta do this but-here goes.
Went to France decided to be unapologetically American-meaning refused to wear the Canadian crap my relatives gave me and I was constantly accosted by French people telling me that they really like Americans and to please not listen to Jacques Chirac.
Interesting that Sarkosy beat Chirac's poet in waiting on an unabashedly pro-American message shortly there after.
And btw- I think I got lost in the same neighborhood as that big burly guy Mark Steyn where he wrote about how petrified he was-I wasn't scared at all.
Between our media and their media only the worst shines through, ey?
Make that-
*Sarkozy*
"Scotland the Brave?
Flower of Scotland?"
Last night we put on Free Movies on Demand and caught a little of Orson Welles version of Macbeth. From Republic Pictures which made mostly John Wayne movies. It was ludicrously bad. But the thing that made me crazy were the costumes. The helmets that they wore were all over the place. Welles wore a Mongol helmet. Banquo wore a Viking horned helmet like he was tailgating before another Super Bowl loss cursing Bud Grant. It was the pits.
And no bagpipes. WTF?

They still love us in Normandy. being able to see that cemetery with 10,00 crosses and Stars of David, impacts local opinion.
I find that country French still like us generally. Better if you don't try out your French.
It's the Parisians that hate us. But Paris is to France like NYC is to the US. Those big city folks are rude a$$es, pretty much :)
Sorry trooper, but it's true
Hey of course city people are a rude ass, that’s the only way to survive. You won't get any argument from me.
Ted Nugent's endorsement is for shit.
Everybody's endorsement if for shit.
Thinking about Powell's endorsement, I fully realized that no person or entity could sway my vote. I best I would listen to their reasons and weight them according to what I value. I've heard nothing from an endorsement that comes close to making me change my vote this election cycle.
Someone who votes based on endorsements is rather mindless.
I like Ted, his colorful language and hunt to kill and eat what you kill philosophy. Just bought some new arrows for my bow a couple of weeks ago.
From a letter I received from MM about the Manifesto:
"Poor, innocent, pedantic Karl - Communism seems a lot like da Vinci's aircraft - interesting concepts, ahead of their time, but try building a 747 out of wood, stone, bronze..."
Me: We shall soon see if the materials have evolved enough. Something tells me --not yet, no.
The Nuge is a moron.
OTOH, he gets my award for best title for a live album:
"Intensities in Ten Cities"
I also thought it was wang chung (in fact I'm sure). What's this wango tango stuff?
Did someone do similar songs?
The Nuge on a David Crowder song. What an interesting combination. The song is "We Won't Be Quiet". Perfect.
Hey Althouse - please quote Ted more often - it might just make alphaliberal's head explode.
It seems the one and only demographic group not going for Obama in a landslide is White American men.
And maybe Israeli Jews.
The entire planet is gaga for Obama. Nearly 100% of American blacks, 75% of American Hispanics and the majority of White American women and a huge majority of White women under age 25.
So Obama will be elected. But will he be inaugurated.
I don't think the KKK types will get him but I wouldn't be surprised if he gets assassinated by some US military types with combat experience in Iraq/Afghanistan.
Or maybe Mossad.
"I don't think the KKK types will get him but I wouldn't be surprised if he gets assassinated by some US military types with combat experience in Iraq/Afghanistan.

Ah, I see that we're already entering the batshit crazy conspiracy theory phase of the election season.
Palladian said...Ah, I see that we're already entering the batshit crazy conspiracy theory phase of the election season.
Take out the Mossad comment. Do you still think what I said is bat shit crazy? There are bat shit crazy people out there in the real world who are pissed off with Obama, his droids and the media.
And the ones hardened by combat might just want to get rid of him.
Long range sniper with a Barrett .50 or some kind of explosive device at close range. That's my guess.
Aristotle made the point 2500 years ago. Democracies can succeed until the poor learn that they can use the ballot to steal from the rich.
I think Ari stole that idea from Plato, Republic, Book 8 (recommended pre-election reading, about 30 pages, perfectly accessible, and [I think] available free online). Plato goes more into the role of the politicians, promoting the exchange of votes for money and taking their cut. Talks about how the wealthy who resist are condemned by the politicians as oligarchs. Fascinating to watch it all play out. Bush gave us a shove down that road, and it's looking likely we're about to get an even bigger one.
Oh, and Nugent? A man, not a moron.
Oooh, conservative swearing!
Nugent was right about Kurt Cobain.
jdeere - I think you might be overheating your imagination.
If you have ever read about security you would know that things like sightlines are considered before a public appearance by a pol.
Sounds more as if you are hoping such a terrible thing will happen. I don't like politicians, but having lived through the 60s I know that assassination is not the correct response to an opinion you disagree with, despite the rantings of the left.
Say what you will about Nugent, but in his big point, he's got another one not expounded upon: The "F***in' gong show. Politics today less resembles a search for who's best qualified, and more a satire of ridiculous game shows from the 70's.
And at times, it regresses from even that. There have been points where I've concluded that today's politics is modern society's true replacement for the Roman Coliseum. They're both mad spectacles, and they both involve either supposed "heros" mauling each other, or watching various persons get thrown to the lions while bystanders cheer senselessly.
Bart D:"The GOP talking heads living among the lib elites on the coasts are completely disconnected from the rest of America if they think that Sarah is anything other than an enormous plus for the McCain campaign."
And yet, the polls say otherwise: In addition, Sarah Palin appears to be a continuing – if not an increasing – drag on the GOP ticket. Currently, 49% of voters express an unfavorable opinion of Palin, while 44% have a favorable view. In mid-September, favorable opinions of Palin outnumbered negative ones by 54% to 32%. Women, especially women under age 50, have become increasingly critical of Palin: 60% now express an unfavorable view of Palin, up from 36% in mid-September.
And yet, the polls say otherwise
Empirical evidence means nothing to these people.
Ah, I see that we're already entering the batshit crazy conspiracy theory phase of the election season.
We’ve been there since Palin was nominated.
"Ted Nugent also preaches political violence. Fuck you, Ted Nugent".
AL - can you at all appreciate the irony in making a statement like this?
Can't believe this, but I'm still undecided.
Obama - smart campaign, articulate speaker, and I'm hoping once he's in office he will move more towards the middle. I'm personally smarting from any criticism towards him being responded to with derision or accusations of racism. (Although I know racism is well and alive in this country.)
I think McCain would make a fine president, and I think he's a trustworthy and honorable man, but he's run a terrible campaign. And I don't know if I could stand going through the next 4 years having him compared to Hitler.
I've never been so undecided in an election. (I've been a lifelong Democrat but switched to Independent two years ago.)
Floridian:
How many election cycles will it take before you Charlie Brown Dems get wise to the Lucy pulling away the football act the media polls pull on you?
These polls routinely over count Dem voters in every single cycle.
The campaigns' internal polling has been showing a significant shift to McCain for the past ten days and this week some of the better media polls are beginning to catch onto what the internal polling is seeing. Of particular note, Obama internal polling is showing Pennsylvania as a statistical tie.
She is ready to be in office, because she will call this thieves out. The liberal illuminati are bailing them out, because they don't want to show how they didn't control them as they were elected to do. We need someone who will expose the elitist for what they are.
How many election cycles will it take before you Charlie Brown Dems get wise to the Lucy pulling away the football act the media polls pull on you?
It looks like Charlie Brown shoved that football up your ass.
