The Cherry Esplanade.

Cherry Esplanade

The Cherry Esplanade

I was at the Cherry Espanade 2 weeks ago — remember? Just buds. Now — full bloom. It was overcast and chilly that other day, and brightly sunny and warm today. Lots more people today.

Sorry no bad puns today. Is there such a thing as a bad pun.

Our trees are starting to bud (forsythia in full shout).

41 degrees F, wind chill 31.

Snow tonight.

Bah.

Cherry Esplanade...

Is that on Blueberry Hill by the lemon tree?

buffalo berry

Or maybe it's a sand cherry growing up through a buffalo berry ; or perhaps a native plum with a peculiar branch arrangement.

It's the only one doing it, whatever it is.

Ugh, I hate the double pink cherries--what a vulgar, garish flower. Thank goodness they only bloom for a few weeks. And thank goodness we got them over with in California a month ago.

Bissage and Meade: Stop it, guys! You're giving me Desi spells.
