The ultimate process clusterfuck.
So embarrassing:

Those two hacks. The epitome of the white mob left.
They're not embarrassed in the slightest. They'll get by with it and they know it.
Breaking basic law 101. The presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
The bad law hackery is the backbone of the mob left.
Ms. James ran on convicting Trump without specifying a crime. Horrifying to any lover of equal justice, or should be.
Now she is going to investigate a case where she has already taken sides.
Crap Governor and crap attorney operating strictly from a "What is best for MY team" position.
And MSM yawns.
They should both resign in disgrace.
Instead - What Mr. D said.
NY Post July 2026 : "NY Attorney General Letitia James ranked among worst in US for prosecuting Medicaid fraud: analysis"
Watching these two characters (borderline) operate outside the law is astounding. Kangaroo meet Court.
this clip alone ought to be disqualifying : Too Male, Too Pale and Too stale
What a great question. You'd expect our authorities to do a fact-finding investigation. Instead of refuting the question ("I have done a fact-finding investigation"), the AG has to go the "no comment" route. "I will not comment on a facebook post."
i.e. "I will not comment on what I said before."
So bad. And the governor gives the game away by saying she knows the AG will conduct a fact-finding investigation. With her conclusion already reached! What a brutal smackdown at a press conference.
"I have every confidence in our Attorney General to do what she has always done. Look at the facts, examine the record, and draw the proper conclusions."
Me too.
Are we doing this again?
What are the prospects for a society that decides to repeat mistakes more than successes, because that's where we are right now?
Cigar. Cigarette. Let's be blunt.
This is completely irrelevant, the actual investigation needs never happen. This was just a one hit toss off to motivate women for the next 30 days until midterms.
They are not talking to men.
Who was the reporter who asked that question? Fire Jake Tapper and hire that guy. Actual journalism, confronting Democrats about the laws they are sworn to uphold. Outstanding work. Kudos.
Women in Government - WHY???
Dark sarcasm or punch drunk?
The internet informs me that "Under the ABA Model Rule 3.6 (Trial Publicity), a prosecuting attorney who is participating in or has participated in the investigation or litigation of a matter generally may not make an extrajudicial statement that the lawyer knows or reasonably should know will be disseminated publicly and will have a substantial likelihood of materially prejudicing an adjudicative proceeding."
The assumption of guilt rhetoric from the feminist movement is a violation of our laws and our Constitution. The rules you would have us adopt instead ("believe all women") are insane, on their face.
Convict first, trial later.
I don't know how people can't see that a vote for Democrats is a vote for lawlessness and incompetence. The real disappointment is that Democrats do know that and don't care.
Grok says this open bias can be a challenge to the case, but rarely succeeds. The legal profession does such a great job. Thank you. What is the calling and purpose again?
"Women in Government - WHY???"
Cigar. Cigarette. To be blunt (pun intended).
It's beneath her to comment on a Facebook post, especially one that so clearly demonstrates that she can be counted on to draw the proper conclusions.
Grok says nobody has identified the reporter who asked the question. Nobody wants to point out who the real journalists are.
James' reply to the question from the reporter: "I will not comment on a Facebook post."
In the context of the reporter's question, it was Hochul's Facebook post.
Talk about Dems circling the wagons while the state of NY circles the drain.
i.e. "I will not comment on what I said before."
Perhaps the Facebook post was intended for the sisterhood.
"Remove reason and accountability"
I don't think this is really as bad as everyone is saying. Prosecutors often come to a set of facts with the initial belief that a crime has been committed and X was the perpetrator. It may not be best practice in terms of getting a credible investigative result, and it would be nice if prosecutors had a bit more humility, but structurally, the prosecutors's office (like the rest of the executive branch) is not a neutral or impartial participant in the process. They're just there to put people in jail (unless it's Philadelphia, I guess).
In the US, we have structural roadblocks to restrain prosecutors' expected bias against possibly innocent parties: grand juries, petit juries, and judges. Where this breaks down is "the process is the punishment," where prosecutors have enormous discretion to harass the targets of investigation before they hit any of these checkpoints. But that's an inherent problem with the discretion given to prosecutors, and the lack of outside oversight over their decisionmaking (and what outside oversight exists is usually just hacks looking at crude race metrics and complaining they indict too many non-Asian minorities). You can't really paper over that problem by asking prosecutors to *pretend* to be neutral in their public statements. And that's all it would be -- a pretense. I don't think anyone *really* thinks a special prosecutor appointed by the governor would be objective in this case. The whole point of looking again is exactly that political actors think the wrong result was reached the first time.
The left's response? Mob-shame or worse - the person who asked.
Proving again that the left's base are willing bitches.
Is Houcal so small? Or James so big? I read Wikipedia and it says James is 5-8 to 6 feet tall. Ok. Thanks for being so precise Wiki.
From reading Rod Dreher, the girl came back to her Dorm told her roomies she'd had a drug filled orgy at a Frat house, and then later went her University "Counselor" who told her rumors were circulating she was a "Slut".
The Frat house then disinvited her from a halloween party, "for her own good", and then that's when she filed charges.
Lots of men in a similar situation would've kept their mouths shut and certainly never would have raced off for a hand-holding session with their counselor to discuss their sex life.
Liberal/leftists with power and in the MSM really hate Frat boys. Whether its the Fake rape charges at Duke, or the fake U of VA story. At least this one actually had a rape victim who had sex.
If we don't expect the government to at least attempt to be fair, how can we say a fair trial is important? Open bias may be common, but it's a slippery slope, and we are at the bottom. If we don't object to it, people get railroaded, and that should not be OK. A lot of evil is perpetrated with the permission of "well, it's always been like that". Imagine hearing that if you are wrongly accused. Sometimes all we have is our voice.

Lawlessness is not a problem when you have no foundational belief in the Law.
You have people whose reasonings begin with the premise that equality is inherently unfair: there is always someone poorer, shorter, fatter, uglier, less talented, less skilled, etc etc; there is always a Man that was unfairly born a Woman.
For them, a government that doesn't try to equalize the outcome of such things is fascist; laws that don't seek such forced balance are illegitimate: above all else, it is Unfairness that should be illegal.
You cannot build a bridge to these people: they are over very different waters.
I am Laslo.
No the problem is not "Wimmen" Losertarians and Caveman Conservatives, the problem is "Gubmit". We need to get rid of DA's and make all crimes monetary transactions. LOL.
The DA who went after the Duke Lacross team was a man.
Win, lose, or draw, every body involved in this case will lose. Not just the girl and the frat bros, but the press and the justice system.......The girl was probably right in the first place to not wish to press charges. She might be a victim, but not everyone will find her innocent. The men involved can never be considered completely innocent.......The network news has only reported on the facts that point towards the guilt of the frat members and not on those facts that caused the original DA not to press charges. Tilt......I think there's a significant portion of the population who do not think James is a fair minded person, and I don't think she will make any attempt to allay those concerns. Well, she's got a proven record of incompetence so the frat bros have that workiing for them.....Has anyone ever done a follow up story on that girl with the mattress? Whatever became of her?
Two hacks bleat as one.
Based on the girl's own texts and sworn statements contemporoneous to the events in question, no ethical prosecutor would bring this case to court or even a grand jury. The only rational conclusion here is that, at best, you bankrupt the defendants in defending themselves against this case for which the not guilty verdict should be a slam dunk decision- or you actually get a jury to convict them with no evidence actually supporting a guilty verdict (which is what I expect will happen given the jurisdiction).
I expect a lot of extortion will be used to get one of the defendants to turn state's evidence and, given it is Letitia James, I expect that extortion to be unethical, too.
Prosecutorial empathetic indiscretion.
The left gets in power and then uses it to enforce their agenda. And always get weak-ass pushback from the rest of society. Gosh, they're so "stoopid". Gosh, they're not being fair. Gosh, this isnt the way things should be. Gosh, that's what happens when you let "wimmen" in charge.
None of these responses will change anything. The Left simply laughs at them.
"Win, lose, or draw, every body involved in this case will lose. "
There will be some people involved who will get well paid regardless, which is a big part of why this happens.
Has anyone ever done a follow up story on that girl with the mattress? Whatever became of her?
I did.
I have no idea where she is now, but she was in an interesting place 7 years ago.
Did Emma Sulkowicz Get Red-Pilled?
New York is a gay race communist tax farm, police state, and gulag and has been for a while and so honestly fuck that place and the people that inhabit it. As for the alleged perpetrators & the alleged victim, well to me it’s like people at Yellowstone who fall off a cliff or are gored by a bison they were told to leave alone; to wit, its sad, for them, but the FAFO principle applies. All this BS now is a contrived media circus that the gay race communists in NY need to fund raise and make propaganda from and nothing more.
Bagoh2o said: "They are not talking to men."
True...but.......the type of women they are talking to right now...are too busy trying to murder their children in solidarity or something.
@Laslo: ". . .there is always someone poorer, shorter, fatter, uglier, less talented, less skilled, etc etc; there is always a Man that was unfairly born a Woman."
Yeah. Members of the teacher's union.
It's Lindsay Clancy they want scrubbed, because it just keep happening, again and again.
The horror
Is this the 2nd since the verdict?
Letitia James is Mike Nifong in drag. And blackface.
Isn't this the same lady who reassured New York real estate developers that they would only use the novel interpretation of a one hundred year old law to go after Trump in a victimless "crime"?
Sorry I broke protocol. But it's sort of related that they chose to go ahead with this terrible "case". I put case in quotes because there is no case.
Rush used to have a catch phrase for it: It's phony-baloney plastic banana good-time rock-and-roll.
Those Cornell guys must have been seriously horny to copy late with a female who has calluses on her labia.
Yet again we have the legal process being manipulated for political gain. I wonder if a government prosecuting people for purely political reasons could be considered malicious prosecution?
It's all about power.
"I wonder if a government prosecuting people for purely political reasons could be considered malicious prosecution?"
Sure, but who is going to prosecute that case? Nobody. We live in a nation of laws the way a stone skipping across a pond is in that pond.
Remember the movie "Hang 'em High"? The one where Clint Eastwood hunted down every member of the lynch mob that tried to hang him for a crime he didn't commit? Those were the days.
"True...but.......the type of women they are talking to right now...are too busy trying to murder their children in solidarity or something."
Last week in Houston, a woman murdered her 4-year-old daughter then took her own life. What was the term after the last election? Democrats needed to create a "permission structures" for their voters. Congratulations on what you created.
Facebook post mentioned by the reporter actually belonged to New York Attorney General Letitia James, not Governor Kathy Hochul
James has already wiped her Facebook post off the internet.
From Stalin's rag...
“What’s concerning is the increasing willingness of powerful political figures to insert themselves into high-profile matters before due process has run its course, inevitably tainting the proceedings...In Trump’s case, given his longstanding conflict with Tish James, his comments risk looking less like a defense of fairness and more like political retaliation."
It's awful when Trump does it!
Maybe it was a NYT reporter who asked Hochul and James why they were issuing a presumption of guilt before any facti-finding?
(Somehow I doubt it).
"Those Cornell guys must have been seriously horny to copy late with a female who has calluses on her labia."
Raging hormones at that age overrides the higher functions, meaning any hole's a goal.
When I was younger, my dick took me places I wouldn't even go with a gun.
The Reporter begins "Attorney General, on your Facebook page..."
Everybody knows Letty James is a political hack, but then so is Hochul.
"So embarrassing"
Kathy Hochul AND Letitia James? So predictable.
The above is my third attempt to pubish a comment. Posting is a quantum field.
So, another bogus gang-rape claim. Yawn.
Disbelieve all women.
Let's give more power and control to women.
@William: I saw your comment disappear. I suspect mine is about to.
MeToo is back. In Canada, allegations against Professor Steven Galloway started to get widespread attention in 2015 over actions that took place in 2010-11. He was about 35 in those earlier years, and had a long extra-marital relationship with a woman of about his age, i.e. not a kid. That somehow ended with hurt feelings. He liked to go out drinking with students. The words "assault" and "rape" started to get attached to the one original charge, with the sense that the University might do nothing about it. After years of Galloway suing various people to try to get his reputation back, Chelsea Rooney (about 5 years younger than Galloway) has settled her part of the lawsuit, which is finally supposed to go to trial this month. He's probably in the neighborhood of 50, Rooney in the neighborhood of 45. She has seen the light. She never questioned the word of the one original accuser, she did everything possible to broadcast all charges, and encourage women to come forward with any and every charge they could think of. She did everything she could to ensure any due process was violated in a way to hurt the professor, whom she now admits helped her career, asking nothing in return. An investigator in 2018 found no criminal activity, but something like poor judgment in a love affair. The U fired him, 8 years ago.
Balfagor: "I don't think this is really as bad as everyone is saying. Prosecutors often come to a set of facts with the initial belief that a crime has been committed and X was the perpetrator.... [T]he prosecutors's office (like the rest of the executive branch) is ... just there to put people in jail...."
This is so wrongheaded. Prosecutors are of course supposed to be neutral and evenhanded in terms of investigating crimes and making charging decisions; and their job is not just to put people in jail: it's to sort out who's guilty and who's innocent and only put the guilty people in jail.
And what James did this is every bit as bad as it looks, not necessarily because she came into the case with a preconceived notion that the named individuals had probably committed rape, but because she PUBLICLY BRANDED them as guilty without giving them any due process, and before she conducted any investigation. The fact of her PUBLICLY condemning these men creates a conflict of interest, because now she has a personal interest in seeing that they are in fact found guilty. If she fails to achieve that result, she will likely suffer huge personal and career embarrassment and possibly have to face defamation claims and/or disciplinary charges.
If you think what she's done here is normal and expected behavior for a prosecutor, you're either being extremely obtuse or you have a very dangerous view of what our justice system should look like.
Like I said yesterday, Letitia James shouldn't have become the special prosecutor -- unless "special" means "especially biased."
According to my sources, James' investigation will focus primarily on allegations that Trump, Kavanaugh and Hegseth were there that night.
It would be an act of kindness if the spam cache could be cleared. My posted but unpublished comments could help to restore balance and fairness to our criminal justice system.
This is already out of control. I understand at least one of the men has lost his job, and another, uninvolved man with the same name has been harrassed and villified. (Apparently, the lawsuit contained the address of the wrong man.)
"James' investigation will focus primarily on allegations that Trump, Kavanaugh and Hegseth were there that night"
Who's that cat with the Cheshire grin? Trump!
Woman should be discouraged from proselytizing for social progress, a liberal ideology, a slutty character. We'll always have planned parenthood? A back... black hole... whore h/t NAACP when the "burden" is too great. One step forward, a giant leap backward. LOL
"According to my sources, James' investigation will focus primarily on allegations that Trump, Kavanaugh and Hegseth were there that night."
A whistleblower has come forward alleging all 3 men flew in a yet undisclosed Jeffrey Epstein non-stop flight from the Island. President Trump hid in a food trolley. I want to make clear, for our viewers, we have yet to verify the veracity of these explosive claims tonight.
Back to you Jake.
A clusterfuck? The allegation and prosecution.
We will untiringly strive to find the facts that support our conclusions.
Prosecutors often come to a set of facts with the initial belief that a crime has been committed and X was the perpetrator.
They cannot proceed unless they have probable cause to believe that a crime has been committed. Assumption of guilt is not something a prosecutor ought to be doing. She has to investigate and find a factual basis for a criminal charge.
We know James fucked up because she wiped away her Facebook post. Deleted it.
To me, her original statement is evidence of prosecutorial misconduct. Quite similar to her campaign promise to prosecute Donald Trump for crimes. Either Hochul yelled at her, or she figured it out on her own.
Her Facebook post was gross misconduct by a supposedly impartial (ha) prosecutor. And her deleting the post is evidence that the AG covers up misconduct by her and her office, when she notices it. She's trying to hide evidence that could be used against her in a judicial review.
As Althouse put it,, so eloquently, "the ultimate process clusterfuck." It's so bad, James is now pretending it never happened. What Facebook post?
"I don't comment on Facebook posts that don't exist anymore."
"No comment on that thing I said that I am about to delete."
Per AI:
Emma Sulkowicz, known as "Mattress Girl," graduated from Columbia University in 2015, continued working as a performance artist, and later publicly identified as a transgender person.
Life and Work After Columbia
• Art Career: Sulkowicz continued creating performance and visual art in New York City, exploring themes around trauma, public scrutiny, and identity reclamation, including a 2016 performance titled "Self-Portrait (Performance with Object)".
• Personal Evolution: In subsequent interviews and public appearances, Sulkowicz discussed experiencing severe burnout, media storms, and panic attacks following the intense national spotlight, ultimately coming out as transgender.
As a former career prosecutor, I can categorically state that Leticia James is the poster child for ethical vacuity.
She should be ashamed, but there can be no shame where there is no honor.
“ Emma Sulkowicz, known as "Mattress Girl," graduated from Columbia University in 2015, continued working as a performance artist, and later publicly identified as a transgender person.”
I knew it, I knew it, “he” became a performance artist and nailed “his” foreskin to the wall of the Fine Arts Building as a project. after becoming trans.
Emma Sulkowicz Has an acupuncture clinic in NYC. She had a website. Not transgender in any apparent way.
Trans? Homo or sim. Six weeks or a drag race? She is female. She is not politically congruent. Maybe, baby. Baby, maybe?
