"sometimes it’s easy to feel a little dehumanized in a heated sexual situation and i appreciated his pausing for me to collect myself."

I'm reading "Read the Text Messages at the Center of the Cornell Rape Inquiry After a Cornell student said fraternity members had sexually assaulted her, university investigators amassed a trove of communications from the student and the men she accused"

That's in the NYT, where it's always a gift link. Read everything in context, but I'll excerpt one more thing:

"Yes, so sorry once again and I agree with it just being an insane night and appreciate your forgiveness - and right, with due time it can be something to laugh about privately. Yeah there were two Scotty’s haha"/"i think we all have a soul bond now cause very few people can say they’ve had an experience like that. while it’s good to keep it away from the public i don’t think it’s something to feel ashamed of in private. thank god there are two scotty’s that was literally the trippiest part of the night...."

1. The plaintiff’s lawyers obviously think they can win this case and that’s because we have entered a post Rule of Law society. The E. Jean Carrol case opened the door.

2. I cannot believe how debased and grossly immoral student life is at Cornell. And I can tell you exactly how it happened. The Left has captured the Academy and that’s what they do: drug use and unlimited sex.

In a fair and decent society, Cornell would lose 50% of its student body next year but that won’t happen.

And Cornell is not alone. I read a book review about student life at Stanford. The author wrote for the student newspaper and he brought down the Stanford President for academic cheating. His parents write for WaPo or NYT.

Anyway, this kid almost died of a drug overdose. He was saved by Narcan. According to this kid, this happens frequently at Stanford and Cal.

Liberalism/Progressivism and the Red-Green Alliance are killing America.

Not happening at Creighton!

Most of this information was available a month ago, but I guess it is no longer needed for election fodder.

No news here. I've seen all these before. It still sounds like a woman scorned.

Ed Morrissey (HotAir): “ And when you remember that Charlie Kirk left behind two young children who will grow up without their father, the cruelty becomes even harder to stomach.

There is something profoundly worldly about this kind of behavior. It is what happens when consciences are seared, power is worshipped, contempt becomes a virtue, political opponents cease to be human beings, and when the capacity to delight in another person's suffering is mistaken for sophistication.”

Heart is hardened where nothing evil is off limits. Seared is the correct word.

None of this looks good, and no one involved looks good, either.

All this because she was specifically disinvited to the season's prime frat party event? Hell hath no fury, ginger level.

I happen to be someone who is opposed to universities (or other institutions) handling potentially criminal behavior--I'm talking generally speaking here, not just this particular case. This has been my stance since my own college days, back in almost the dark ages, now.

In this case, with what we do know, and these text messages are now part of it, I have to say that Cornell were between a rock and hard place in their initial investigation etc. I mean, what were they supposed to do with such murkiness? Sure, the drug use and excessive drinking is one thing; that seems very clear. But the rest?

As far as I am concerned, this just confirms my long-term stance, as outlined above in this comment.

I left out a sentence in my first paragraph of my just previous comment, for clarity: "If it's potentially criminal, it belongs in the realm of law enforcement to investigate, not other entities."

Wait...there were dogs involved? Little dogs like Toto? Oh man...

“Sometimes it’s easy to feel a little dehumanized”… honey chile, that was the last gasp of your guardian angel, whispering in your ear that you are debasing yourself to the level of rutting beasts.

Again - the woman calls the shots. If she changes her mind - she can also change her story. (plus this was yet another story dem media hacks used to smear Trump. And that actually occurred.)

20 years later with Mr. Brand? excuse me for being skeptical.

She wanted all sorts of privacy.
Who paid her to do this? That's what it smells like.

The NYT gift link wants me to subscribe to see the full context.

I think the issue is that I have a games subscription that does not include news, so the NYT is not giving me the benefit of the free link.

NYT won't let me read it either. no games subscription.

Nothing's more expensive than a "gift link." Try archive.ph.

Left Bank:

Create a generic email account that's not your primary but just for this particular purpose. Something like junkmail@whatever (but don't be surprised if that particular one is taken, ahem). Now, I have an NYT digital subscription (among others across the political landscape). But I certainly have employed this technique extensively. In fact, I have separate email addresses for "opinion" and "dailynews" etc., and have done so since the earliest aughts. It keeps things tidy, and I can just ignore them entirely if I wish.

Just a suggestion, FWIW.

I have a shopping@[not specifying] that dates back to then, too. It helps consolidate all the unwanted sales and other junk mails that we all get!

I have zero sockpuppet accounts, though, and never have, in case anybody is wondering.
