"It sounds like you're upset with me, too, Anderson." Indeed, it did. But did Haley Stevens expect that, by switching her support from a Democrat to a Republican, she would receive the media's Liz Cheney Country Over Party award? If so, she was badly mistaken.

The velvet glove has been stripped away, but old Nancy Pelosi's iron fist is just a bony claw now. The Van Winkle Progressives are losing their monopoly on omerta.
Leftmedia douchenozzles like this one know Abdul is bad for the country and may even cost the Democrats some useful idiots. He just can’t help himself once his knee starts jerking.
It's funny to watch lefties discover that in fact there's NO such thing as a principled lefty.
You have to be a decent and worthwhile human being to have principles. And that's pretty much impossible to accomplish on the Left, because the Left is only about obtaining and using political power, not actually making teh world a better place.
She was supported by AIPAC, Schumer, etc, and *LOST* the primary, in other words, she's another Israel firster.
I didn't see any "country over party' rhetoric from her. She missed a big chance.
Maybe she didn't go that route, because D's aren't as stupid as R's. The Democrat know that's all bullshit, and they want to know the *real* reason, she's turning their back on all her previous campaign rhetoric.
You'll notice that when Mittens swtiched from 2016 Never Trumper, we need to throw the election to Hillary cause "Country over Party", to 2018 "Yeah Trumps nots so bad" nobody said boo about it. That's because R's are dumb. They even gave him a Senate seat.
Precious example of how the media carries water for the Democrats - the no enemy to the left Democrats. Compare this to the fawning treatment Marjorie Greene received when she turned on Trump.
By abandoning El-Sayed less than 48 hours before Election Day, Stevens has reinforced the perception that her political loyalties lie more with the pro-Israel lobby’s foreign-policy priorities than with her state, her party, or her constituents. Critics have long pointed to the roughly $30 million in support from an AIPAC-affiliated super PAC during her primary campaign.
Stevens may try to dismiss the fallout as a “private decision,” but the political damage is anything but private. Her apparent capitulation has put her career in jeopardy, all for a moment of notoriety that has been widely ridiculed. And now, many are pointing fingers at her fiancรฉe as the driving force behind the decision.
"He gets progressively" is the most underused sentence in American politics.
Republicrat, the uniparty admits its existence.
Steven’s had a great opportunity to say, “El-Sayed is an extremist. He is bad for the party and bad for the country!” Nothing more was necessary.
Of course Anderson is angry with her. She's committing heresy in violation of everything for which CNN stands.
Anderson is literally gaysplaining - to a woman - how the ratchet of bipartisanship is only ever supposed to move in one direction. Lol.
Her staff all quit, BTW, she should switch parties already. I was a Reagan Democrat and voted R since 1984, and am now a Trump Democrat, and after this election, I am done with voting.
Note the swift "Stevens is a tool of da JOOOOOS!" from our resident leftists and anti-semite trolls like Tim.
Funny, I thought that the Democrats were proud of having the support of Jews. Now they blame them, openly, like IEEE just did, for everything wrong.
What's the difference between todays Democrats and the National Socialists of 1933 again?
Best quip about this mess.

Abdul El-Sayed raised more than $2.4 million on Sunday, setting a single-day fundraising record for the campaign.

Turns out Haley Stevens is good for the democrats after all.
Of course he's peeved. Cooper is more invested in the success of the Democratic party than Haley Stevens is.
The Rebellion PAC ad referred to by Stevens was not produced by the El-Sayed campaign. It was not authorized by the El-Sayed campaign. The total amount of the digital ad spend associated with the ad was a whopping $5,000 in the context of an election where there has been over $100 million spent.
Stevens and the Israel lobby used the ad as a pretext for her endorsement. The irony is that they probably called more attention to the ad than it would have otherwise received.
Stevens' fiancรฉ had already backed Rogers.
What is actually going on is that El-Sayed is winning the election and the Israel lobby and Republicans are desperate for him to lose. This is a desperate last minute gambit to try to change the dynamic of the race. The initial indications suggest that late deciding voters are breaking towards El-Sayed, which suggests that voters see the act for what it is.
Stevens' career is over but she's found a rich husband.
She seemed unable to answer a basic question.
We don't see the whole interview, but she comes across here as a stammering fool who didn't prepare one bit to explain herself.
As noted above -- universal condemnation of the endorsement from Democratic officials and members of Congress. Key members of Stevens' house staff resigned after this announcement.
This is not a division within the Democratic Party. This is the decision by a political opportunist to torch her relationship with a political party that had supported her, after she lost a party primary.
It should be noted that Stevens, a Christian evangelical, was recruited by the Israel lobby back in 2022 to primary a Jewish-American Democratic House member simply because the member had been critical of the Netanyahu government and had defended a Palestinian-American colleague. Unfortunately for the lobby, Stevens is very typical of the kind of low-rent, highly unethical opportunists who are willing to work with the lobby these days.
File under Realpolitik we don't like because only we're supposed to do realpolitik. Boo effing hoo.
Cooper's vagina is very dry today. Luckily there are pictures of strange penises on the internet to cheer him up.
As a Michigan voter, why would I want to elect a Hamas wanna-be supporter as my US senator?
Why would my progressive-liberal self think electing El-Sayed would be in my own best interest?
Why doe CNN's Cooper think El-Sayed will strive to protect his "gay father" household?
He believes they'll throw him off a tall building last.
Heh - Anderson self-identified as a loyal democrat hack.
Again.
Silly woman, you are only "lauded for your bravery" if you move in one direction.
Cooper is such a douche.
** she comes across here as a stammering fool who didn't prepare one bit to explain herself.**
That’s what happens when democrats no longer have a script written for them by the Party. If it ain’t rehearsed it ain’t delivered.
They're not labeling her a 'maverick'? I'm shocked!
If what she did wasn't important, you wouldn't see the fury that we're seeing.
"hy would I want to elect a Hamas wanna-be supporter as my US senator?"
Leaving aside the factuality of your statement, why would you base your vote for a US Senator on what is "best" for Israel, in your opinion.
We'll find out in a day and a half whether Stevens jumped onto or off of a sinking ship, and whether El Sayed's last-minute contributors are going to feel smug or stupid. Some people are going to be very surprised, including a lot who claim to know which way the votes are trending.
It's not even necessary to explain why she's not supporting him.
"This is not a division within the Democratic Party."
Sure. Half the country turned into communists overnight. It's far worse if Democrats are not divided.
Perhaps she is Israel first, but, to my mind, that is infinitely preferable to someone who is Hamas first. El Sayed is not just a clunker like Platner. Platner, leaving aside his occasional bouts of rapism and Nazi tattoos, had the deep tendon reflexes of an American. El Sayed, is personable and out going, but there's much about him that's occult and he's just not America first. It's surprising that just Stevens voices his misgivings. You would think that Cooper might have some reservations about the man.
"from our resident leftists and anti-semite trolls like Tim."
I guess that genocide supporters like yourself can only think in terms of genocide, and assume that I must believe that the solution to any disagreement is genocidal hatred, since you seem to. It's the only explanation I can think of. Every accusation is a confession.
CNN is now a 2 minute hate fest of the target of the day.
Jeezum Crow, Weevil, the Democrats are all in for Ukraine. I can't imagine why you would be upset. Those Patriot batteries we just sent to Israel because Trump got bamboozled into a stupid war will end up being sent to Kiev, along with lots of other weapons, maybe even Tomahawks.
Right now, you can't get promoted as a general without getting past a bunch of Israel supporting Senators, now it will be only those who are all in on Ukraine
Soviets demand ultimate loyalty.
Tim in Vermont is rage-fueled that we might finally topple the corrupt theocratic murderous women subjugating a-holes who rule Iran.
Gusty winds....
heh.
She's a viable burden. Abort.
I'm really pleased that she's supporting Rogers now. But, geez, she's weak under questioning. You notice that she didn't answer Cooper's straightforward questions - just gave a bunch of generality and diversion. In that, she acted and sounded just like Abdul.
Two literal Israel agents work on the Rodgers campaign.

We have lost the plot. Muslims are bad, mmmmmkay! Pay no attention to the foreign government that has infiltrated our political branches and focus all your hatred toward Muslims.
Nothing to see here.
The genocide supporters in America today are those who support Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis, and Iran. Those are the groups who openly boast of wanting to kill every man, woman, and child among their enemies, the Jews, and try to do so whenever they get a chance. They also rape, mutilate, and torture their victims, and starve their hostages underground for months at a stretch, raping the woman, too. Anyone who thinks we should cut off military aid to Israel, especially totally defensive weapons like Iron Dome, or allow the mullahs to stay in power in Iran, supports these attempts at genocide.
It's only a day or two since I linked to a Tweet pointing out that those who died in Gaza were less than 2% of the women, 6% of the men, and 100% of the Hamas generals who planned the October 7th massacres. The Tweeter suggested that what Israel has done is therefore not genocide but "generalocide", and he's right.
Note the swift "Stevens is a tool of da JOOOOOS!" from our resident leftists and anti-semite trolls like Tim.
Yes. Of course, criticism of genocide is hatred of "Joooos" just like opposition to abortion is hatred of women.
These arguments don't work anymore you fucking retard. What's next? "Say her name, Ashli Babbit?"๐ Retards.
Stealing the lamest plays from the progressive playbook.
Those are the groups who openly boast of wanting to kill every man, woman, and child among their enemies, the Jews, and try to do so whenever they get a chance. They also rape, mutilate, and torture their victims, and starve their hostages underground for months at a stretch, raping the woman,
You are literally describing both sides.
let's be CLEAR..
you are REQUIRED, by LAW, to support the Democrat Party.
WhenEver
WhereEver
All within the party, nothing outside the party, nothing against the party
The Democrat Party is your GOD.. OBEY!
(of course, Now the Democrat Party is the party of the DSA..
and in another year it will be the Party of ISLAM..
None The Less... OBEY!!!)
serious question:
How Long?
how long before people rip the "coexist" bumper stickers off their cars?
or, will they just X out the star of david (and the cross)
fun note! the star of david has been "X'd out" the entire time.
that is: the star of david was the X in coexist.
Democrats are murderous thugs, that want to kill jews (and christians)..
which is WHY rcola is a member.. Right RC?
Anderson Cooper actually looks like a used condom.
Bet you wont be able to unsee that one.
You can fairly argue that Israel's response has been disproportionate and may, in the long run, create more enemies than it kills. You cannot, however, argue that it is "genocidal". Saddam and Assad killed people under their control at a far greater rate than anything that's happened in Gaza.......I explicitly ask DD Driver why Assad and Saddam were described as tyrannial but never as genocidal.
I am NOT "literally describing both sides". Israel does not keep hostages: Muslims in Israeli jails are there for killing, or trying to kill, Israelis, often women and children, not for attending a music festival too close to the border.
And Israelis protect women and children and old people in bomb shelters when the missiles and drones are falling, while Hamas and Hezbollah build tunnels for themselves, and lock out the women and children and old people.
Note: 20-30 years ago Palestinians were complaining that Israeli soldiers don't rape Palestinian women, and accusing them of thinking Arab women are ugly. It didn't seem to occur to them that not raping women might be a matter of common decency and military discipline.
Anybody read the NYT exposรฉ of the use of rape and sexual assault on Palestinian prisoners by the IDF?
Anyway, is this Jewish actress who doesn't realize she is live on the air and speaks openly an antisemite?
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/NN9hah4B1mM
"srael does not keep hostages:"
There are thousands of Palestinians in Israeli prisons without charges.
Congress re-convenes Nov 9th. And the newly elected Congress is sworn in on Jan 3rd.
So Haley Stevens, former Democrat, now kicked out of her party and without affiliation as an apostate, will resume as Representative for her district. How many votes will there be between Nov and Jan? How will she be inclined to vote?
The thousands of Bund supporters who went to pro-Hitler rallies at Madison Square Garden later showed up at recruiting offices and went off to war for the American side. The Italian barber who had a Mussolini poster in his shop, also later did his part for the war effort.......A lot of Americans have divided loyalties but in the end they come down on the side of America. Honestly, I just don't have the same confidence in El Sayed. It's not a complicated moral decision whether or not to be more in favor of Israel than Hamas.
Hasn't the "NYT exposรฉ" been shown to be propagandistic bullshit, based on anonymous sources who may or may not even be ex-soldiers? And haven't the few genuine cases of sexual abuse of prisoners been prosecuted and the abusers jailed? Has any resident of Gaza ever so much as criticized the rapes and tortures on October 7th and other dates? Again, both sides are NOT the same.
As for being in prison without charges: Prisoners of war are generally not charged as criminals, and it's perfectly legal to keep them in prison until the end of hostilities. Are any Palestinians being kept in Israeli prisons without charges who were not caught in the act of making war on Israel, or committing terrorist acts against Israel?
This guy is part of the Israeli regime, newly elected, one minute in.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sx_urMnmuaI
I will let him speak for himself.
"the few genuine cases of sexual abuse of prisoners been prosecuted and the abusers jailed? "
From Grok, you could have looked this up yourself:
****
What happened
In July 2024, a Palestinian detainee from Gaza was allegedly severely abused. He suffered injuries including broken ribs, a punctured lung, and a rectal tear that required surgery. Medical staff at the facility described the injuries as serious.
Leaked CCTV footage (aired by Israeli Channel 12) showed soldiers surrounding the detainee with riot shields, obscuring most of the action. Some reports and outlets described this as a gang rape or sexual assault involving a sharp object inserted near the rectum. The soldiers denied the allegations.
Nine soldiers were initially questioned. Five were later indicted (in early 2025) for aggravated/severe abuse and causing serious bodily harm. The formal charges focused on violence and the rectal injury rather than a standalone “rape” count in the military indictment, though the sexual nature of the alleged assault was widely reported.
Dropping of charges on procedural groundsIn March 2026, the new Military Advocate General (Maj. Gen. Itai Ofir) withdrew all charges against the five soldiers. The stated reasons included:
Complexity and limitations of the evidence (the video was not fully conclusive because shields blocked the view; there were differing accounts).
Exceptional circumstances that undermined a fair trial, including the improper leak of the footage by the previous Military Advocate General (Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi), who later resigned and faced investigation.
Procedural difficulties transferring investigative material from police.
The detainee’s release back to Gaza in October 2025 (as part of a hostage/ceasefire deal), making him unavailable to testify or be cross-examined.
Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, welcomed the decision and described the soldiers as “heroic.” Human rights groups criticized it as granting impunity for abuse of Palestinian detainees. This matches the elements in your question (IDF soldiers accused in connection with a gang-rape/sexual abuse allegation involving a prisoner/detainee, with charges dropped on procedural/fair-trial grounds). Broader reports of abuse (including sexual violence claims) at Sde Teiman and other facilities exist from human rights organizations and media, but this was the high-profile case with the leaked video, arrests, indictment, and later dismissal.
***
I like the part about how his mistreatment was "alleged" and yet he required surgery to repair his rectum.
When Jews can walk in Gaza as unmolested as Arabs are able to do in Israel, then and only then will we consider DDD’s hideous bothsidesism a possibility. Until then y’all are pissing into the wind with your anti-semitic propaganda.
Short answer: yer all wet.
And yet they were prosecuted, unlike any Hamas or Hezbollah rapist ever, and released (like many American criminals) because of prosecutorial misconduct, and the head prosecutor had to resign. Deeply disappointing, but again, nothing like the gleeful, openly celebrated rapes committed by Hamas.
Note also that I wrote "few" and you came up with one case. Again, the two sides are NOT the same.
How many Gaza music festivals were held for locals to show “support for Zion”? If any, how many were assaulted by air, ground and motorized hordes of murderers while calling for Peace? How many Gaza for Peace music fans were held for years under UN hospitals?
Yes. Not the same at all.

Just how much of a Nazi do you have to be to say in public that the only reason to oppose Islamic terrorists is because you're pro-israel?
9/11 ring any bells, shit for brains?
There are no good Islamic terrorists, anywhere in the world. They are all evil scum, and every decent human being is opposed to them.
Hamas, Hezbollah, the Mad mullahs of Iran, they are all enemies of America, and of Western civilization.
That is why you leftists love them, because you also hate Western civilization and the power it gave to ordinary people.
But it takes a Nazi level of Jew hatred to believe that "opposed to Hamas" == "tool of Israel"
Apparently, she was disinvited from an event with Abdul Al-Sayed so she went to the Rogers event instead. And we all know how vengeful some women can get after getting disinvited to events.

"From the River to the Sea, Palestine shall be free" is a call for Genocide.
Opposition to Hamas is NOT genocide, if it was, every former "Palestinian" in Gaza would be dead, since Israel certainly had the power to accomplish that goal, and refused to do so.
Once again, DD is full of shit, and showing for him it really is "all about hating the Joooos"
Once again, it is so much fun watching the Progressive meltdown. They can't understand why a Jewish woman would want to bow down to an ideology that wants her dead.
Hmmm. "shit for brains" - interesting phrase, when you think about it. Shit is quite useful as a fertilizer, which is more than you can say for some of our commenters. Would having shit for brains make someone a really excellent chia pet, with an amazing head of green hair?
Former Rep. Hansen Clarke (D), who represented Michigan’s 13th congressional district, just came out in support of Mike Rogers over Abdul El Sayed.
"This is not a division within the Democratic Party."
"And we all know how vengeful some women can get after getting disinvited to events."
"i knew this was going to happen. the woman will always get the short end of the stick. yall aren't my friends. yall are covering your asses!" - Haley "Doe" Stevens
Mike Wolff - I guarantee Tim In Vermont thinks Oct 7th was all faked by Bibi. *Tuq'r lip-diddles*
Stevens endorsed a Trump endorsed Republican because of Israel. Its quite pathetic, since only a percentage of Michagan voters give a rip about Israel. She after the big Donor Cash.
You saw something similar in the UK. Where the Labour party tore itself apart over Corbyn's refusal to support Israel 100 percent. The average Labour voters were going "what the fuck?" and didn't understand why. But the Jewish dominated Big Donors got their way and Corbyn got the boot.
"Opposition to Hamas is NOT genocide, if it was, every former "Palestinian" in Gaza would be dead, since Israel certainly had the power to accomplish that goal, and refused to do so."
Gaza
75,000 bodies recovered, do you really believe that every body has been recovered from that mess?
Judging by the polls, El Kabong will get elected, and once in the Senate will vote like everyone else, except for making a few noises about Netenyahu and Israeli excesses.
As usual, when it touches Israel and zionism we get the hysteria moved up to 11/10. Like Mandingo in NYC, this is much ado about nothing.
ai: Examples often cited in these discussions include:
• Switching to or Aligned with Democrats: When figures like Senator Arlen Specter switched from Republican to Democrat in 2009, or when lawmakers break party lines to vote with Democrats, supportive media coverage frequently frames the decision as putting "country over party."
• Switching to Republicans: When politicians switch from Democrat to Republican—such as New Jersey Representative Jeff Van Drew in 2019 or Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson in 2023—left-leaning or mainstream coverage often focuses on political opportunism, backlash from their original base, or the specific political pressures they faced.
Tucker was a Trump insider up until Trump sold out on Epstein and Israel, now he has been denounced, like, you know, they used to do the Soviet Union. Well, plug your ears, even though Tucker has been in the room with Trump many times.
When Tucker was kicked out of MAGA, well, that was only one person, right? Tucker has a bigger audience than ever he did on Fox, where he had to keep his mouth shut on a lot of issues.
Here's what Pelosi just said about Stevens endorsing the Republican:
"Haley Stevens has chosen to dangerously betray Michigan families’ healthcare, freedoms and future with her horrific endorsement of Mike Rogers," she wrote on X.
"@AbdulElSayed must win — because Michigan and our country deserve better," she added.
When did any Establishment Republican attack the Never-Trumpers in 2016? Nope, it was just fine to have President Hillary. No big whoop.
Better to let you hard core die harders talk. This will be decided tomorrow.
79 comments ahead, but gotta add -- that was DELICIOUS!! Anderson Cooper steaming, interrupting, mad as hellacious delicious!!!

Anonymous sources = unconfirmed rumors.
It's tabloid territory.

One hopes there are more. As there is no such thing as an "innocent Gazan," I hope the earth is salted with their bones. These are the people who gleefully participated in the rape, mutilation, torture, murder and captivity of hostages taken in war. Hiroshima or Dresden are appropriate examples of appropriate response. Israel has been too extraordinarily lenient.
It appears that anti-semitism is now very firmly rooted in the minds of the Althouse lefties. Of course, there is the execrable RCO to represent the Right, as a notable exception.
“When Tucker was kicked out of MAGA ..”
Make America Great Again is not an organization; you can’t be “kicked out.” You can, however, choose to believe that America is not, and should never again be great, and quietly — or in Tucker’s case noisily — depart. Your own attitude towards the United States is duly noted.
There is no coalition that can include both the Jewish Democratic members of Temple Israel and supporters of the Hezbollah terrorist who tried to murder their preschool children. Abdul El-Sayed made a decision about who he wanted in his tent.
Note for the "I don't hate Jews, I just hate Israel" crowd: "Temple Israel" was a pre-school in America. This is about "murdering Jews", not about "anti-genocide"
