That guy on the radio needs to keep it to himself.
"The radio announcers were much better — I know, Meade put them on some of the time — but they screw up the not-quite-live TV coverage."
I have an audio delay circuit that introduces a variable delay on radio broadcasts, so I can watch games on TV and listen to the radio broadcast. Didn't use it for the Brewers games, though, since I have no familiarity with their radio broadcasts.
I'm glad you guys got some joy from the victory of your sportsball team.
btw- what's this "we" sh*t. ???
The Brewers did it. They get all the credit.
Fans get credit for showing up and cheering - not actually doing the hard work of... winning the game.
I miss the days of the true simulcasts, “over-the-air" radio and TV broadcasts of baseball games. Lucky to get to hear Vin Scully with the Dodgers call when I was growing up. "It's time for Dodgers baseball!"
"The Brewers did it. They get all the credit."
You know what? The players don't look at it that way.
O mike - My point is a general annoyance. Yes - fans help. They show up and cheer. They come rain or shine.
I said as much. perhaps I'm sensitive to people taking credit for other peoples work.
Obviously the players did all the work. Nobody would dispute that. But if you asked the players if they supported the fans viewpoint of "we", I bet you'd get a resounding [pseudo italics]YES![/pseudo italics]. All you have to do is listen to them in interviews.
Without the fans and their emotional investment in their team, no sports team would be inclined to play just for their individual team. Itchy is peeved that Wisconsinites are celebrating no matter their politics, she’d rather see riots over politics. There’s always going to be an unhappy cat lady to cast a pall over other’s joy.
If it were me - I'd say " They did it!"
That's normal.
Inag does the same sad lame tired mind reading BS that all leftists seem to think they own.
"If it were me - I'd say " They did it!"
That's normal."
I'm guessing you've never been a fan of a sports team.
Were you born in Wisconsin - Inag? Just wondering if you are a native.
I would assume you're from Russia or Germany.
O Mike. I'm a fan of the Brewers. The Rockies. The A's. Sometimes the Broncos - the NFL has made that more difficult.
What is the big deal about saying "They did it!"? geeez.
I'm also a Packers fan.
Seattle has their 12th man. "We did it!"
OK - I'll give them that.

Is that something you made or is that available to buy? I've been trying to find something like that to use myself but haven't found anything readily available. I often listen to radio broadcasts being steamed over the internet that I can pause but it is a chore to get it synced with the video.
Inag - you brought up 'So glad the crazies didn't destroy Milwaukee last night' .. yeah - we all are.
It is a good thing. and?
I jumped off of that (It's election season) and said that the antifa types are waiting for the go-riot Soros USAID bat signal.
That is not related to the Brewers big win.
"What is the big deal about saying "They did it!"? geeez."
I don't think there's anything wrong with saying "They did it". I also don't think fans who say "We did it" deserve to be chastised, which is where we got on this merry-go-round.
Testing
Oh Yea - I have this:
https://motron.com/product/rts-200c-radiotvsync-0-86-second-stereo-audio-delya/
I've had it for years; it's kind of surprising it's still available.
It's pricey, but it has worked well for me. When I bought it I looked at several, much cheaper devices on Amazon (this one is available on Amazon as well), and the reviews of the cheaper units were pretty bad, so I went with this and haven't regretted it.
*Itchy is peeved that Wisconsinites are celebrating no matter their politics, she’d rather see riots over politics.*
The only person who brought up politics is you. Get a life.
merry go round -
btw O Mike - you were annoyed by his outburst - I was annoyed, too.
As far as being excited for the team and the fans - I am. It's exciting!
“Inag - you brought up 'So glad the crazies didn't destroy Milwaukee last night' .. yeah - we all are.”
Itchy is a liar, I didn’t say anything of the sort, unless you include the crazies from both sides of the isle who like rampaging riots like what happened January 6th.
Itchy you’ve been corrected by OM, it’s obvious that bothered you. Why don’t you sit down and play with your kitty?
Yeah - you didn't say this:
"Congratulations to us Wisconsinites, no storming the field and no destructive celebrating!"
OM didn't correct me - he has an opinion that is different from mine.
You are such a Soviet - Inag.
"Congratulations to us Wisconsinites, no storming the field and no destructive celebrating!"
Oh my oh my, Itchy. And what does thiscomment of mine have to do with politics? That’s why I said, “baseball isn’t partisan” You are truly in a foul mood today, maybe go to the animal shelter and add a kitty to your cat collection. The merry go round stopped, go find someone else to argue with about Wisconsinites being engaged and invested emotionally with their baseball team.
Yes - Inga - you said that too.
btw - you saying "no destructive celebrating!""
I happen to agree with you.
I think Americans - many - are sick of the violent street theater. sick of the vandalism and the rioting.
Are you a victim?
btw - I just gave you a nice complement in the other Brewers win thread.
I hope the Cubs were watching and taking notes.
Nothing like clicking on comments for some insightful baseball comments and getting a catfight instead.
I always turn the sound off when I watch sports on TV.
Bad enough that we lost Bob Uecker last year. He made every Brewers game on radio superb, win or lose. But to then not have B.A., Rock, Sophia, Tim, and Vinny through the playoffs was like being at a really fine Thanksgiving dinner but at the wrong house. Great food. Nice folks. But they’re not MY folks is all.
Baseball radio announcing is still the best. I'd say TV Golf has droppped in quality more than any other sport. US TV Tennis coverage is bad, and never been any good except for McEnroe.
The sport is absurdly simple, and its right there on the screen. Two people, one ball, one net. Yet its blahblbahblah on USA TV.
Must say—correct me if I’m wrong—Brian Anderson is the best, most enjoyable to listen to, play-by-play announcer in all of basketball and baseball.
In ACC land, Carolina fans would often turn off the volume of Billy Packer (a.k.a. "that Wake Forest son of a bitch") and listen to Woody Durham on the radio. I did not do this because the radio commentary and the TV images didn't match up right. Also, Packer didn't seem that biased to me. But sports fans can get worked up.
Billy Packer, RIP

White Sox Radio PBP guy Len Kasper made the move from TV to radio because he didn't want to give up the team during playoffs.
In the old days my friends and I would occasionally get a chance to either listen to Vin Scully on the radio or some clown like Curt Goudy on a Dodgers TV broadcast. Guess what we set the TV volume to?
Meade, I enjoyed that Robin Yount link. Outstanding.
