If I was the Republican senate candidate in North Carolina I would go on tv and say:

My Friends and fellow citizens of the Tar Heel State, I see in the published polls that I am behind by 8 or 10% in the senate race. I feel that simple Republican principles of jobs for Americans and discouraging foreign countries from destroying good North Carolina companies and their hard working employees is something that we all should support, but the polls say that importing cheap labor and increasing unemployment for our children is attractive to you all.

So I am at a loss. In the recent devastating floods of Western North Carolina, the Democrats were proven to bypass the homes of Republicans and give money to Democrat voters. Is this what you want?

If so, vote against me. And rally to democrats who withhold help from you if you do not vote their way. If not, vote for me, and we can work to have honest government who does not divide us, that helps us all in time of need.

And God Bless North Carolina, and its people, however you vote!

Will I still be stuck in a deep blue state - where my vote doesn't matter one bit - after the midterms? Yes, again.

Wake me up when it's over.

Trump secured our border. That alone kept us from going down the path of England, France, and Sweden. So pretending nothing of consequence has happened is wrong.
Will he still be President after the midterms? Yes.
Will Congress sit on their asses and do nothing? If the Democrats take over, they’ll do worse. They’ll impede our President at every turn.
And your vote matters more than you think. House seats are won district by district, and even deep blue states have districts that can flip. Trump is campaigning for Republicans and asking us to turn out. Red state or deep blue state, vote Republican in November.

“Today Trump said he had the chance to impeach Hillary Clinton, but he didn’t because it was inappropriate. Huh? Can any of you Trump whisperers explain what he meant?

“Donald Trump made this statement on October 2, 2026, while speaking to reporters outside the White House.
Context of the Remarks
• The Question: According to HuffPost, a reporter asked Trump how he viewed the possibility of a third impeachment if Democrats won control of Congress in the upcoming midterm elections.
• The Response: Trump joked that he was "getting good at it" and dismissed previous proceedings as a "fake impeachment".
• The Mention of Clinton and Biden: Trump stated, "It's a fake impeachment, and we could've done that with 'Sleepy' Joe [Biden], but we didn't do it because it wouldn't have been appropriate. I could've done that with Hillary Clinton, as you know. I had the chance to do it if I wanted, and I said, 'That would be inappropriate,' but with me, they like to do it."

Remember that North Carolina was entrusted with a young girl from Ukraine. She had an honest job, earned her living and tried to be happy. Her happiness was robbed by the blindness of liberal city democrats. She was stabbed in the neck by someone who should rightfully have been in jail.

To democrats the victim is just the dirty laundry the violent killer kicks aside on the way to special treatment.

As Christa Pike, a woman who tortured a girl to death and took a piece of her victim’s skull as a trophy, receives life saving medical treatment following a botched execution, keep something in mind: many states in this country will not give medical treatment to a baby who survives abortion. In fact several states have specifically repealed laws requiring treatment for infants born alive after an abortion. And every single mainstream Democrat in the country opposes any law to protect infants who survive abortions. So this condemned murderer, who earned her execution through her own choices, is getting more humane treatment than infant children who were given a death sentence through no fault of their own. And every Democrat — every single one, no exceptions — empathizes far more with this murderer than with those babies.

Looks like the co-pilot who attacked the pilot and nearly brought down that plane the other day had been been banned from flying in his own country due to “extremist views.” This according to the AP (just got a news alert). Obviously, FlyDubai hadn’t vetted him, or there was some screwup, or he lied and got away with it.

Also, AP is reporting that he used the crash axe in the cockpit to attack the pilot. That’s beyond being stabbed, right? It really is lucky that he was able to open the cockpit door!

In some ways, these midterms seem about courage vs. fear. Take Trump's immigration policy. The problem is fear among the Hispanics. I felt that fear in New Mexico when I was in gas station convenience stores. A police officer would step in and suddenly a wave of fear would sweep through the room. The man was just buying gas and a candy bar, but the fear was so strong that I could feel it. I suppose that wherever there are Hispanics there is someone among them who is illegal or whose wife is illegal or his grandmother. Or his friend's aunt.
But Hispanics don’t just feel fear. It's also true that the gang members whom Hispanics were trying to escape have been let into the country in enormous numbers by Joe (Autopen) Biden. Trump is rounding them up and deporting them. And Hispanic immigrants have suffered under socialist leaders. Here the immigrants all start their own businesses and buy their own house. So, I don't think they are exactly against Trump. But they have a strange mixture of emotions - fear of being deported, fear of being reported to ICE by an enemy, liking the effort to break up the gangs, deep dislike for socialism. Republicans aren't addressing this mixture as a whole.
Then take the war in Iran. A lot of Americans think all our wars are wars of choice. That's what those opposing Trump’s policies get most wrong. They think we have a choice about whether we’ll be in conflict with Iran. We don’t have a choice. Our only choice is to fight or submit. They don't think the Iranian IRGC cadres are men with an ideology of conquest; they think they are men whose feelings have been hurt by insensitive remarks about turbans, harems and camels. These are dangerous errors.
There's no opportunity to debate the errors or assuage the fears or work out less frightening solutions because the news organizations have rotted away. The main news outlets have been giving only half the story since 2016. For ten years those who read the NYT have only read half the story. They think the half they get is the whole story as known by the almost all the country. They do not know that half country knows more than the Times readers. They do not know that half the country knows both sides of any major story and chooses based on all the facts. And NYT readers are not in that half.
Half the country knew the facts on Covid and Fauci years ago. The other half thinks the whole country just found them out. Half the country knew the facts about failing public schools, including their causes such as the teachers’ unions and the lack of discipline; the other half thinks the whole country is just finding out the few limited facts trickled out by Nikole Hannah-Jones.
The people we need to have discussions with are bone-deep ignorant and proudly conscious that they know it all.
I wish they did.
You would think that when people became aware that they were on the side of IRGC and the antisemites and the rapists that they would ask themselves: Are we sunk in delusion like the German people under Hitler? “Are we the baddies?"
They just go on enjoying making remarks about Trump. Meanwhile, the one hurricane of 2026 is blowing toward us all.

I absolutely love the blues in the first photo, most especially the midnight blue. I'm excited in that later this week, my living room furniture will come out of storage and be delivered here to the new house. Its couch and chairs are the only furniture I ever got custom. So the couch is that midnight blue, and the side chairs are a beautiful sky blue. I've already installed bookshelves in midnight blue. Your picture made me more excited.

Re: Midnight Blue. I fell in love with that color in elementary school when I got my first box 64 Crayola Crayons, with the sharpener in the box and that beautiful, to me, color! I was so excited. It was my "big" Christmas present that year, along with a new doll, and I was so thrilled! How quaint, in context, don't you think?

The IRGC is contained. They can still commit acts of terror, but they are no longer a military force that can project power.

Why? To give more power to Trump to sell out ordinary Americans again? Right now there are Marines heading to Iran to fight a war that is totally unprovoked, and which really only benefits Netanyahu and Trump personally and his cronies.

Not that the Democrats will be a lot different, but Trump needs to be punished.

Is attacking a military base from which attacks are. being launched on your own country really "terrorism"? Why would Iran want to attack an American airbase absent this unprovoked war agains them by the US? Wow! Fear among the Hispanics! Or only the illegal ones? Round about 10 years ago here in central NY my son and I popped into our local convenience store following a troop meeting. Both of us in uniform, me a Scoutmaster, him a Life Scout at the time. Store was crowded with Spanish speakers when we walked in, empty in about a minute. The apple picking migrants, probably all as legal as the driven snow, must have been paid that day.

Palpable fear among illegals has always existed. And any uniform will trigger it.

The fundamental issue on November 3 may be less the size of any partisan shift in Congress than what happens when votes are close and contested. The 2026 election is taking place amid an extraordinary expansion of federal involvement in election administration, investigations of alleged election fraud, litigation over voting procedures, and partisan redistricting.

Trump’s DOJ and FBI will deserve particular scrutiny. The administration has already pursued allegations surrounding the 2020 election and sought greater federal influence over state election systems. Whether those powers are used to address legitimate violations or to challenge, intimidate or punish election officials and contest legitimate results will be one of the defining questions of this election.

Cooper is a strong candidate, but Republicans shouldn’t fool themselves into thinking his lead is simply a Roy Cooper phenomenon. He’s benefiting from something Republicans have largely done to themselves.

That gives Cooper an unusually simple argument: voters don’t have to become Democrats they just have to decide they’re tired of paying more for the privilege of watching Republicans insist everything is going wonderfully.

North Carolina hasn’t necessarily turned blue. The Republican Party has simply given a strong Democratic candidate an increasingly compelling reason for voters to turn them out.
