From "Boomer women are dating after divorce. Men don’t always meet their standards. In the 1990s, baby boomer women set records for divorce. Thirty years later, how’s their love life?" (WaPo)(gift link).
It's interesting — isn't it? — the rules people make as they try to guard against making the same mistake again. I would have thought: Get rid of that Porsche. Or at least: Don't trust anything that starts with him admiring your Porsche Boxster in a grocery store parking lot.

"From now on, they have to have been born when Kennedy was shot."
"I was, lady." "Wait, was he the actor president?"
How about me? I was born when FDR died.
John or Bobbie?
RAATs. You've come a long way, baby, maybe, not. Abort. LOL
I’m embarrassed for them
"Krysten Haver, Porsche owner, 'That’s when she implemented a new rule: “I said, ‘From now on, they have to have been born when Kennedy was shot.’”
Lady, I qualify. I was in first grade.
Yeah, when he notices your Porsche before he notices you, that might be a sign. On the other hand it might be an opportunity to unload the Porsche.
let's Play! SWITCH THAT GENDER!!!
"Over the years, HE dated several younger WOMEN, including a Russian 25 years HIS junior whom HE met in the parking lot of a grocery store..."
"... where HE found HER admiring HIS Porsche Boxster. A month into the relationship, SHE casually mentioned that the last man SHE dated paid HER $1,000 a month"
so;
now that we've Switched Gender; how many WaPoos would
a) have ANY sympathy for HIM?
b) NOT think that HE was a total scum?
c) even read the article?
when a man does it (to a woman).. he is a "groomer"
when a woman does it "Men don’t always meet their standards."
bonus round: what about IF a man does it to a young boy?
serious question:
did it say where/how Krysten Haver made her money?
was it from her divorce?
At least Ann and Meade don't seem to resemble a sugar mama love situation. But Meade, did you see the TT before you met Ann?
"he casually mentioned that the last woman he dated paid him $1,000 a month"
Ouch. A gigolo that young might run a loss leader now and again, but what a loss loser.
"Thirty years later, how’s their love life?"
Heavily influenced by SSRIs based on the data.
I imagine some WaPoo writer just making sh*t up.
Jess: "Emily seems terrific."
Harry: "Yeah; of course, when I asked where she was when Kennedy was shot, she said, 'Ted Kennedy was shot?'"
“In the 1990s, baby boomer women set records for divorce. Thirty years later, how’s their love life?"
Sounds like it isn’t.
And a Porsche Boxter makes an impression. It says, “I can’t afford a 911”. That’s why he only asked for $1000/mo.
“baby boomer women set records for divorce” Only the women? Who were they married to—iguanas? Of course, it’s women who set the records; leave men out of it. (And they did. And here they are.)
I think Pearson Brown in the article is MAGA. Kind of a shock there's a divorced woman in DC who's on the right.
There are podcasts hosted by boomer women about dating in addition to many reddit subs devoted to the subject. What strikes me about these forums is that these women go on dates, then do a play by play of how sad, boring, self absorbed etc these men were on said dates. They don't seem happy about it at all. And if I were a man dating a boomer women I'd grill her about her social media use to ensure the date itself was fodder for social media or not.
Gilbar @ 10:55: Well played!
'...A month into the relationship, he casually mentioned that the last woman he dated paid him $1,000 a month....'
Well, I would just suggest that they were a month into 2 different relationships, sharing a space.
Just a gigolo
Everywhere I go
People know the part I'm playing
…time to rub the bunions…
Most men are too shallow to date older women. They're hung up on looks.
>That’s when she implemented a new rule: 'I said, "From now on, they have to have been born when Kennedy was shot."<
Finding men who were born on November 22, 1963 is going to be pretty slim pickings for you, Hon.

Shhh...Let's not tell them about older women, bro.
Agreed - Gilbar smashes it up at 10:55.
Why all the hate for the nice car from the wimmens?
Maybe it's true about women peaking sexually later than men.
At 65+ there isn't much left in the tank.
sports cars - I laugh.
Dude in a truck. Or a Toyota.
How does a woman with a low-level job with a minor league baseball team end up with a Porsche Boxster?
Answer: Her ex-husband paid for it.
Q: What did my ex-wife get in the divorce?
A: MY Porsche.
As others have said, Gilbar, Game, Set, Match.
"Of course, it’s women who set the records; leave men out of it."
Well- when women initiate most of them...
One night, after a few glasses of wine, he leans in close to let the candlelight reflect in his eyes, and whispers, "Did you know Paul McCartney was in another group before Wings?"
Gilbar was spot on with the role reversal. True story: After brief but torrid relationships with these two sisters, when I was 21, their mother "seduced" me (she didn't have to work hard at it). She was 38 and stunningly attractive and rich. And a drunk. We had a year-long affair before it fizzled out. A hat trick, my friends called it. Amazingly enough, we all remained friends for decades afterwards. The little sister died ten years ago, and the mother just two months ago. The older sister is a lesbian, not out of the closet. I suspect that is why our relationship, the first of three, didn't last past senior prom.

Hey, I already hate boomers - - you don't have to keep selling me!
(And yes, I am one myself - - but that doesn't mean I am blind to the cultural wreckage surrounding me.)
Which reminds me, Althouse. Do you still have that Audi TT?
You can bet that this woman has a post divorce tattoo on the side of her breast.
And a trampstamp. Probably a butterfly, cause she's so unique.
"From now on, they have to have been born when Kennedy was shot."
Which one?
