From "Why did JFK risk everything for casual sex?/In Ladies’ Man, Laurence Leamer asks what drove President Kennedy to conduct affairs with everyone from his secretary to an alleged Nazi spy" (London Times).
"Leamer’s main argument is that Kennedy’s compulsive sex life was driven by his poor health.... He also had repeated painful STDs due to his refusal to wear condoms.... If I had to pick Kennedy’s lowest point in this book, it would be when, shortly before Jackie Kennedy was due to give birth to their first child, Kennedy treated himself to a yacht trip around the Mediterranean, accompanied by some young women including 'a stunning but not particularly intelligent blonde who didn’t seem to have a name but referred to herself in the third person as "Pooh."' When Jackie haemorrhaged and the baby was stillborn, Kennedy didn’t even consider returning home but carried on sailing with Pooh...."
Jackie Kennedy experienced 5 pregnancies. In addition to the 2 children we saw in so many beautiful photographs, there was that stillbirth ("Arabella," delivered by c-section), there was a miscarriage, and there was a premature baby that quickly died. Was that part of the pain of the "repeated painful STDs"?

“Why did JFK risk everything for casual sex?”
He didn’t risk everything, he did everything for casual sex. The whole point of being rich and powerful is to bang hot girls at will.
Had the press somehow outed him and the political establishment ran him out, he’d still have had the Kennedy money and at least the notoriety of former power, which would still be good for getting chicks.
So he wasn’t risking anything important to him. CC, JSM

People without penises will never understand.
"He blew his mind out in a car / He didn't notice that the lights had changed"
"referred to herself in the third person as "Pooh.""
That's the most repugnant thing in this whole story.
Take a walk on the seamy side.
…mr mosby is correct, there was no risk. Some people are above the rules for little people. True then, true today. Wake me when the somali hood rat is gone…

Kennedy got a thin veneer of civilization from Harvard. That was enough for Schlesinger, who had his eyes on a White House job.
There was a daddy bull, and his son standing on a ridge, looking down over a pasture of grazing of cows. The son says to the daddy bull, "DAD!! Let's run down the hill and fuck one of them"!!
The daddy bull replied, "Son, we're going to walk down the hill and fuck them all."
This is why JFK risked everything. It's rather simple.
That family was untouchable back when I lived in Massachusetts. They could kill people and get away with it.
Kennedy was a close personal friend of the WaPo’s Washington bureau chief. Kennedy knew that the press in general and the Post in particular would cover for him.
You’d think that after one STD Kennedy would have remembered all the precautionary movies they showed soldiers and sailors during World War II and taken appropriate steps (condoms).
Did JFK have Daddy issues? I read a story where he pestered Marlene Dietrich into a quickie there in the White House. The actress was not just iold enough to be his mother, but had been his father’s mistress for a time.
"Leamer’s main argument is that Kennedy’s compulsive sex life was driven by his poor health.... He also had repeated painful STDs due to his refusal to wear condoms"
You could make a good argument that his poor health was caused by his repeated STDs, which likely started before the era of antibiotics. Back pain from reactive arthritis, and adrenal insufficiency are both sequelae of untreated gonorrhea. I seriously doubt his poor health was the cause of his compulsive sex drive. I'm amazed he kept at it with all of his physical ailments.
He was like a smoker with severe emphysema who keeps on smoking.
Why the quotes around "Arabella"? I know fetuses (feti? Fetii?) are ruled by the Law of Schrodinger - babies or not-babies depending on the beliefs and wishes of the woman carrying them - but surely when that woman considers her fetus a baby, she's allowed to name her without third parties' making it seem that she's done something irrational like naming a car or a stuffed animal. And don't people, even very small, very young people, retain their names when they're dead? I can't think of another example of a dead baby's name being presented in quotes.
Bummer about the requisite chit chat; sheesh, he was an extremely busy man...

Jackie also smoked around 50 cigarettes a day, throughout her pregnancies. Whether it was the chlamydia or cigarettes . . . depends on which cause you’re pushing.
Sorry, I neglected to name the WaPo bureau chief. It was Ben Bradlee. Bradlee was later the executive editor of the Post, and he made his newspaper into a pain in the ass for LBJ and Dick Nixon, as though they were in some way responsible for Kennedy’s assassination.
I'm probably too wrapped around the axle on this one. Waiting for my coffee to cool a bit.
I believe Simon LeBon of Duran Duran was asked why rock stars dated supermodels and his reply was something like "Because we can."
This is why no one takes "feminism" (save other "feminists") seriously, and haven't for decades: As long as the man is attractive enough, they're okay with rapey behavior.
JSM's comment: first and best. Runner up: Gusty Winds at 9:41.
I think it's scum-bag behavior to cheat on a spouse.
Dems get a pass.
Any port in a storm, I suppose.
Even in her best days Diana de Vegh was no prize.
The obvious question: did any of the STDs get transmitted to Jackie?
Kennedy had side women and was still keeping the fires burning at home. Would that make him a guy’s guy or a man’s man? Asking for a friend.

Yeah, she was just a standard seven. But, if it's simply all about the face, she was way out ahead of Kennedy's pie-faced wife. Just sayin'.
"The actress was not just iold enough to be his mother..."
She was 16 years older than him.
Don't forget Fiddle and Faddle, kept on the White House payroll to provide BJs on demand in the swimming pool.

Pie-faced Jackie graced countless magazine covers. Melania, the most beautiful first lady ever, to my knowledge has never been on the cover of a women's magazine as first lady. Because reasons.

Yeah, so did the beastly Michelle Obama. Big deal. Jackie Kennedy's "beauty" was grossly overrated and of course, since she was a Democrat, grossly oversold. That overselling happens to Dem first ladies as a matter of course (Hello, can you say "Dr Jill?"). Meanwhile, yeah, you said it - Melania...
""Why did JFK risk everything for casual sex?" Even at this late date, they're still covering for this POS. With MSM in the bag, what risk? And the compulsion and rank misogyny were due to his ailments, right. He coerced some of the women, but others submitted willingly. Tell me, feminists: why?

So, he's technically correct.
"Why did JFK risk everything for casual sex?"
Why did Cornell Jane Doe risk casual sex for everything?
I think we can all agree our guy’s skirt-chasing pussy grabbing is proof of virile alpha manliness and their guy’s skirt-chasing pussy grabbing is unspeakably sordid and vulgar.
"Kennedy was a close personal friend of the WaPo’s Washington bureau chief."
And he would skinny dip with TIME White House correspondent Hugh Sidey.
Risk Level: Low
"Tell me, feminists: why?"
They still haven't told us what a woman is yet. Go easy. Too many questions like that and they're gonna go all pink screen of death.
Diana de Vegh was never a seven. "Three to four rating, tops. Uh, depending on the breaks."

That's a generation in "certain communities."
“Why did JFK risk everything for casual sex?” Kennedy was evidently a sex addict. So it was about the nookie, not the risk. Ask Bill Clinton.
The Press protected JFK because those were "the rules" back then. Of course, if Nixon had behaved in the same way, the Press would've Broken "the rules" because....that's different.
So, Grabbing Them By The Pussy has a long history.
Who knew?

Must have shared STDs with no regard for the groupies.

"John Kennedy did not have his womanizing life all by himself. He had it thanks to many, many, many other men" (Diana de Vegh, PEOPLE magazine, 22 August 2024).
And many, many, many other women.
Apparently “crab season” was year-round in-ahh… Hyannis Port and-ahh Washington D.C.
I think there's a lot that we will never know. It's possible, maybe even probable that he passed one of his STD's along to Jackie but this is something that we will never know. I wonder if he did other creepy things like that time he asked the internet to give a blowjob to s is one of his other subordinates. What we know is pretty bad, but it's probably just a tenth of it.......Has there ever been any President with a greater disconnect between image and reality? On the plus side, he had better taste in women than Clinton or, for that matter, Trump. He was rumored to have been with Angie Dickinson, Sophia Loren, Audrey Hepburn, Marlene Dietrich, and, of course, Marilyn Monroe.
Better taste in women than Trump? Maybe early on, but Trump now has Melania. None more beautiful or classier.
"It's possible, maybe even probable that he passed one of his STD's along to Jackie but this is something that we will never know."
Recent anti-Kennedy book "Ask Not" claims she had to be treated several times and had electro-shock treatment for depression a year after her marriage, a new-to-me allegation.
Reading the bit about JFK cruising the Mediterranean with "Pooh" while his wife was pregnant makes one think that Kennedy and Onassis weren't as different as people thought at the time.
Did JFK have better taste in women than later presidents? He was a star-fรนcker and so were his women. In contrast to young Clinton, young JFK had access to very posh circles. In between the stars and starlets, he'd grab anything he could get his hands on. What he may have got up to with Lem Billings isn't known, but if anything happened it probably wasn't Jack's idea and he probably didn't enjoy it.
