WASHINGTON — President Trump said Friday that he was banning CNN, MS NOW and Politico from the White House due to what he called unfavorable coverage, and threatened that more such media prohibitions could be coming — offering his administration's latest test of constitutional First Amendment protections guaranteeing the freedom of the press. --------------- Trump, acting like Big Brother, is a true enemy of the First Amendment. Trump is now entering Joseph Stalin territory. Thank g_d we only have to endure 2 more years of him, and hopefully he will be impeached by both Republicans and Democrats. I have a dream that some day we will have a President Rubio or a President DeSantis.

There's simply no way this magnitude of spending will post a half-decent ROI. I am fully convinced at this point that we will look back to this cycle and be utterly baffled at how the music played for so long. The only question is when it stops.
Democrats" PACs keep shouting about $5 gas. I filled up @ $4.09. Much cheaper than Biden's regime. Dems can't help it they lie from birth. See above 3.
Why is there a dashed line between lonejustice's two paragraphs in the first comment? Is the first line quoted from someone else? If so, reproducing it without quotation marks, a link, or the name of the author is utterly dishonest, though other commenters here have done exactly that. (Speak of the devil! Here's IEE in the second comment, using banned italics, which usually signify quotations, and giving no link or name for his second quotation, like a common stinky under-bridge troll.)
lonejustice's first paragraph also contains a bald-faced lie. You can read Trump's statement here. He's not banning them "due to what he called unfavorable coverage". He explicitly says that it is "a result of their constantly 'reporting' FAKE NEWS! Media Outlets shouldn't be able to constantly write or report FICTION and LIES". Go to the link for more. It's not that the coverage is unfavorable, it's that it's dishonest.
Trump just announced a military protection deal with Greenland and Denmark regarding Greenland. Obviously subject to verification. His methods are unorthodox, but he moves the ball forward and gets results.
I always thought that the 1st amendment protected media and journalists. But CNN, MSNOW, and Politico are in fact not journalists. They do not pretend to cover news. They are actually propaganda outfits, first and foremost, and readily lie and misstate things and do not actually tell the truth.
So how can they be considered journalists that the 1st amendment applies to? They openly act like Goebbels and Pravda, except it's voluntarily and not government coercion. They are, in short, Tokyo Rose. Can IEEE or lonejustice tell us why Tokyo Rose should be protected under the 1st Amendment? Instead of being droned and bombed?
Crude oil prices have dropped 3 days in a row. When gas prices drop, the price of gas will no longer be discussed by the MSM. They will move on. As an FYI: "The national average retail price of eggs is $2.27 as of August 2026, while major discount retailers like Walmart and ALDI price standard dozen cartons between $1.67 and $1.85." That's from the Federal Reserve. Remember when the price of eggs was the most important thing facing the country? And it was all Trump's fault? Right now the Dems are banking on the "runaway AI" scam, but that seems to be fizzling as most Americans still have bitter memories of the last great panic foisted upon them by our betters to justify draconian measures. And they really like AI.
A Republican president has to answer to libtard Death To America Democrat Party propagandists and give them access to the White House. It's right there in the 1st Amendment penumbra part.
boatbuilder: you mean IEEE is suddenly silent about the "awful Turmp gas prices that Democrats if elected will immediately drive far, far higher so vote Democrat so we can raise your energy rates through the roof!"
Any other president would be waiting to hear from the appropriate undersecretary of the Greenland department as to whether discussions on the possibility of making overtures to the Danish government, through channels, should be considered within the next decade.
Actual elected officials don't get to show up in the White House whenever they want. Neither the governing nor opposition party, at any level. People that were voted in by thousands or millions of Americans can't just rock up to 1600 Penna at will.
Yet these fuckos think possession of an oligopolistic broadcasting license bought 70 years ago, or working for a Mexican billionaire's money-losing agitprop project, entitles them to permanent residence in the place.
Just another example of equal rights becoming special rights.
If the press win, Trump should buy a network as soon as he gets out of office and demand his reporters be credentialed for the WH press pool. Then he should show up every day, as the only reporter. CC, JSM

Diesel is $6.60 here, every piece of our economy depends on diesel, from planting to harvest to shipping to factories and shipping to warehouses and shipping to stores or UPS trucks to shipping on ships.
The FOMC just raised rates due to inflation. I am not sure that it was necessary, because the oil shock is going to tamp down the economy by itself. If prices are so low, though, why does the Fed see worrisome inflation?
*They are actually propaganda outfits, first and foremost, and readily lie and misstate things and do not actually tell the truth.*
And as I said, nobody - not even Trump is stopping them from continuing to do so. They can still fling their feces freely. Just not from the White House press room.
The press is free to say whatever the hell they want about Trump. That is the beauty of the First Amendment. The arrangement of chairs at the press gaggle is a sideshow.
Secretly strongarming major internet search providers to "shadowban" and otherwise "deplatform" voices expressing views contrary to those desired by the president and his party, on the other hand, would be Stalinistic behavior of the worst kind, a true affront to the First Amendment, and an existential threat to the survival of our republic. .
Remember the collective outcry of the MSM about that? Yeah I don't either.
Maybe because annexation of Greenland is not anything to do with the problems facing working Americans. We already have all of the bases on Greenland that we want.
Hey IEEE, imagine if a Democrat presidential candidate had received millions of dollars from Russians for speeches and book deals? Oh wait: Hillary and Bill did just that. Nary a word of complaint from you, was there? And Hillary's "reset" button. Of course. To universal praise from people like you!

Trump said that the Federal government should not be funding Medicare, it should be the states, because the Federal government should be using its money for the military.
But sure, drag out your Fox News talking points. If he gets his way, watch what happens to state taxes, and don’t expect your Federal taxes to drop. Of course the biggest, non- dodgeable tax is inflation.

It's not ever going to happen, but it would be fascinating to see what would happen if states were free to decide whether and at what level they want to tax and pay for Medicare for their residents or not. If you think we have a red-state/blue state divide now, just imagine the old state/young state rearrangement.
The feds can lower their taxes if they push all welfare responsibility to the states. Then well run states like utah can have lower taxes, while Democrat fraud states like Minnesota can have their sky high fraud and taxes they want. Win win win!
I'm noy running for anything. Do you have any thoughts on where in the Constitution the federal government is delegated the responsibility to fund healthcare?
Trump declares victory in historic deal with Greenland as he secures 'permanent' US military rights ~ FOX. News
Is this Trump rebranding the status quo and declaring victory…?
A 1951 U.S.-Denmark defense treaty already gives the United States extensive military access to Greenland. It allows the U.S., in designated defense areas, to develop and improve military facilities, install and maintain equipment, station personnel, provide security, and control the movement of ships and aircraft all while explicitly preserving Danish sovereignty. The agreement remains in force for the duration of NATO. In other words, much of what Trump has portrayed as requiring a new concession was already authorized under the existing framework.
“CNN stands fully behind our White House team and their fair and accurate reporting,” the network said in a statement posted to X. “We have a right under the U.S. Constitution to do that reporting without hindrance or interference from the government. Should the ban which President Trump threatened go ahead, it would be an illegal assault on that fundamental and constitutionally-protected [sic] right.”

For a supposed lawyer, you're pretty stupid when it comes to the actual law.

And they didn't say anything when gas prices were higher under Biden. So clearly, high gas prices are not something they are concerned about.
Anybody want to guess what it is they are actually concerned about?
