There are apparently some ideas that the Democrats still can't afford not to pretend not to know. It's a secret: Joe Biden shouldn't have insisted on running again. But don't tell anybody.
Read this NYT story this morning. Every time I hear someone lament Trump, I ask: What is wrong with the Democratic Party that they could not defeat him, even after January 6. This article starts to get at an answer to that question. Love the emphasis on the consultants who gained "gernerational wealth" advising the Democratic Party. Remember in Charolotte's Web, when the spide weaves a web that says "Some Pig" and the farmer looks at the pig, Wilbur, and sees him as a remarkable pig. And his wife suggests that perhaps it is the spider that is remarkable? When people keep looking at Trump and ask why, they should be looking at the Democratic Party, and asking how could it lose to Trump.

People are complaining that they left out a key chapter, and this dope insists on calling it 'alleged', because he can't bear to admit it exists.
My favorite part is then the Times writer says, "In 2019, Democrats had a very broad nominating process resulting in the nomination of Joe Biden in early 2020."
Except for when they didn't. The Times clearly missed the 2020 Democratic Primary where Bernie Sanders was poised to win the thing and Jame Clyburn arranged South Carolina to be a massive Biden sweep. Then the DNC circled the wagons arranging the Biden candidacy in the following primaries.
We all saw this.
The Times follows that up by stating that Trump's "mishandling of the pandemic cost him the Presidency". Well...not sure who didn't mishandle the pandemic outside of Ron DeSantis. The Dems were all in on shutting things down and encouraged Trump to do it, to demand those things mandated, and used Fauci as the right religious icon at the right time to get it done.
Here's the story: The nation moved dramatically away from Democrats in the 2024 election. Of this there is no question. The question now is whether moving further left, becoming declared socialists/communists/anarchists/antisemites will win the hearts and minds of those who left...or not. It becomes whether the hatred of Trump and all things Trump is greater than the fear and loathing of socialists/communists/anarchists/antisemites. I don't have the answer to that one. I thought I would have until these past few years. At this point, I'd say America is up for grabs. And until Americans show me otherwise, this could go either way.
Completely missing from the "missing chapter" is any reference to illegal immigration (or whatever euphemism the Democrat think tanks use for it). "Bidenomics," aka out-of-control inflation, was barely mentioned toward the end. These people don't think that the reason the dogs won't eat the dog food is because it is bad, but because the advertising for it is bad. They believe in "messaging" over "policy," which was why they lost in 2024.
I think he created it after the fact to make himself look better. Why wouldn’t he have emailed it? Why wouldn’t the party have released it with the rest?

Why would they conclude this in a supposedly honest, introspective, autopsy? Can't they just say Hillary was a terrible campaigner and horrible, unlikable, unelectable candidate? And where is the part about how they railroaded Bernie in the primaries, sapping any potential energy? This doesn't make any sense.
And please forgive me for thinking they're talking about 2016, not 2020. What did any of the paragraph I quoted have to do with 2020?

How ANYONE can write that knowing the Democrats’ record of abject failure in nearly every meaningful component of things affecting honest, productive American citizens is absolutely amusing.
They cannot introspect when honest introspection will reveal policy holes you can drive 60,000 illegal Moroccan invaders through. Admitting every leg of your policy table is termite-ridden means revealing your policy is just "we hate Trump". Everyone smart already knows this, but their voters are not smart.

They tried that at least twice. With the mysterious COVID votes, it worked out for them. The second time, the dogs saw that the sandwich was too far gone and they wouldn't eat it.

Here's my advice to dems that you won't read anywhere else: You guys are relying way, way, way too much on the idea that voters just want a candidate "who cares about people like me." All things equal, sure, I'll take a candidate who cares over one who doesn't. But what I really want is a candidate who has policies that make sense. For example, you can't let 10 million unvetted illegals into the country and yet earn my vote nevertheless because you come across as someone who "cares about people like me." Because not everyone is retarded, and not everyone is looking to government as a substitute for having good friends and a loving family, you need to satisfy me, the American voter, that you will be pursuing policies that actually hold some promise of improving the country rather than things that are evil and harmful but are presented by someone who "cares."
For an election autopsy, it sounded pretty polemical to me. It just seems to be another refusal to accept or even consider that the dogs don't like the dog food.
I got about halfway through. Reads like an AI was told to analyze American electoral politics based solely on watching every episode of "The View." Yeesh.

When I saw the headline, I thought it was about the autopsy of the wife of Dr Jill's 1st husband. First autopsy revealed no foul play. 2nd autopsy is locked up tighter than a tick. Which is, incidently, how tightly Bill Robinson is locked up, on $2mm bail.
