"We want to prevent all the bizarreness and keep our state normal."

Said Bruce Skaug, an Idaho state representative, "who is sponsoring legislation to bar cities and counties from adopting local nondiscrimination policies that extend protection to sexual orientation or gender identity."

Quoted in "How a 911 Call Led to the Nation’s Strictest Trans Bathroom Law/People in Sandpoint, Idaho, don’t know how to characterize a woman’s brush with a transgender woman in a Y.M.C.A. locker room, but the emergency call that followed is still reverberating" (NYT)(gift link).

A true trans-woman (formerly a man) who appears as a woman, and no one really knows- can easily use the women's public bathroom without any problem.
Women's bathrooms have stalls.

The Julie Jaman story - at the YMCA in Port Townsend WA - is the story the leftwing media refuse to tell.

Ordinary trans people are not seeking to abuse children, or expose themselves to women, girls and female children.

But the left's "Lets allow hairy dudes in dresses who say they are women, & allow them into all private female spaces" --
has ruined privacy issues not just for all females, but respectful trans people who just want to pee in private.

"Two women, one transgender..."

Why do people find it so difficult to understand why a functioning penis should not be in women's locker rooms and bathrooms? Have they never heard of such a thing as a rapist? Or do they think that rapists have a part of them that is so morally upstanding they would never lie about being transgender for easy access to victims?

“…Scott Herndon, a hard-right Republican…”

An honest question, to which I don’t know but can likely guess the answer: has the NYT ever described any American politician as “hard-left?”

boatbuilder said...

How would the NYT characterize a woman's brush with a man wearing a dress in a woman's locker room?

Peachy+2 said...

The left only care about fake rape stories via Maddow about fraud's named E-Jean.

The NYT is assho

Gotta love that last line: "I’ve had to change next to guys with Nazi tattoos,” she said, “and that’s probably not going to be a safe environment for me.”

NYT skips:
-Men allowed into women's prisons & the women are abused and raped by these men.
-Julie Jaman story.
- The black women in a CA gym - who witnessed a "trans-women" exposing his penis to everyone in the women's locker room - and SHE was treated like the criminal. Not the dude.
(real HARD leftwing racism and real HARD leftwing anti-female BS in one shit-show)

Sex-correlated attributes (e.g. sexual orientation), homophobic transphobes. Simulants are homophobes in drag. What a kink.

'...Two women, one transgender, one who identifies with her biological sex, interacted for a few moments....'

The 'tell' in these kinds of articles is where they use language to obfuscate. In this case, transgender is transgender, but a normal woman is 'one who identifies with her biological sex'. See how much better it reads, how much clarity is brought, if they just said 'two women, one normal and one transgender'? Immediately the reader is reminded of the reality of the situation, before encountering locker room settings.

There will be a nationwide call for the cancelation of all conventions and special events in Idaho -- once someone finds out if there are any conventions and special events in Idaho.

I had to read the headline several times before I could answer whether the characterization was about a woman's hairbrush, or a woman's toothbrush.

There's a petit trans-female who works at one of the grocery stores I frequent as a checker. We often chat and she is a sweet person. I would never want to harm her and would respect her privacy.
I doubt highly she ( she is aa real he) would harm a fly.
I too would want her to feel safe.

The problem is the abuse by what I call the "hairy men in dresses" that the HARD left allow, and refuse to admit is a real problem.
Then there's the fake "art club" abuse - where homosexual and trans people who are childless get on school boards and are actual predators.
the they-them social contagion spreaders- abusing public school children behind parent's backs.
Indoctrinating children w/ gender confusion, and telling these children to "not tell their parents"

Peachy+2 said...

and then there's the BIG lie about book banning that the corrupt HARD left push.

no one on the right is banning books.
It's the HARD left who want sick twisted sex books on the shelves in the grade-school and middle school libraries.
The CORRUPT ACLU is also pushing these sex books.

Even for the Times, a particularly biased story. The town is described as filled with Neo-*azis and right-wing extremists. The woman who complained about a man in the YMCA women's room is not granted the *right* to define herself the way she chooses, as a female: instead, she is called *one who identifies with her biological sex.* A young man who wants to use the girl's locker room complains that if forced to use the boy's room, he may be forced to change clothes next to one of these imaginary *azis swarming the town. So if you don't want your daughter subjected to males in the changing room, you wish harm at the hands of *azis delivered onto a youth who thinks he's a girl. I would imagine that parents of boys wouldn't want their sons subjected to *azis in the locker room either. What a fantasy of demented hogwash this writer has spun.

And what if the imaginary *azi is a female using the girl's locker room?!

Oddly, the story is festooned with images of the town's peaceful Pride parades.

I'm not the first to notice that the invasion of space is always at the expense of women. No one is sneaking into the guy's locker-room. Why? Guys don't care as long as one is doing normal locker-room stuff. The answer from the T person will be that Men can be dangerous and violent. umm yeah, thats why biological males should stay out of the ladies room.

To summarize the issue. Sandpoint and nearby Coeur d’Alene
(CdA) are the Bluest part of one of the deepest Red states in the union. CdA has the billionaires and the motorboats. Plus a college. Sandpoint has the sailing and the skiing. One of the few places I know where you can do both - ski in the morning and sail in the afternoon (other being Dillon Lake in CO).

What both cities, along with the towns between, have a lot of rich people, plus the college kids in CdA. Millionaires on up. Along with Sun Valley in the middle of the state. CdA has gone seriously leftist loon politically. Which is why you essentially find a big culture class between the very conservative majority in the state fighting the CRA CRA left located in N ID.

I'm trying to find a way to describe what this story reminds me of, other than, "The more things change, the more they stay the same." This type of story, a ragebait or at least clickbait opinion piece about social deviance decorated as a news story, has been around since I was a kid in the 1960s. Keep up the good work, reporters, the anger of the nation must be fed fresh meat regularly.
