"Former President Joe Biden lost his bid Monday to block the release of audio recordings and transcripts of interviews with his longtime ghostwriter..."
"... that were used in special counsel Robert Hur’s investigation into Biden’s unlawful hoarding of classified information. A divided federal appeals court ruled the 46th president’s privacy claims did not outweigh the 'substantial' public interest in the material... The audio recordings of those interviews became part of Hur’s investigation, with the special counsel noting in his February 2024 report that Biden showed 'diminished faculties and faulty memory,' and described the conversations as 'painfully slow, with Mr. Biden struggling to remember events.'... Biden’s attorneys have argued the conversations with Zwonitzer were candid and always intended to stay private...."

Another chunk of evidence guaranteed to inflame the sensibilities of the voters, which is why it will be steadfastly ignored once it's released.

I'm not saying Biden is ooooold....but his longtime ghostwriter was conjured up by The Witch of Endor! Thank you and tip your server.
He has so many lies to keep straight, a quantum powered LLM could not answer quickly.
So when it becomes clear that Biden had completely lost the plot, the next question will be who was running the government?
On on hand, these are private recordings and probably should be protected, but on the other hand, the prosecutor used these to give him a prosecutorial pass. On the gripping hand, this will just reinforce to people to delete things if you don't want them to ever get out.
If they want to hide it, it has to be baaaaaaaaaad relative to his public debate flop of 2024.
Just say “HELL NO!!!” to Zombie Presidents.
I thought no-one was above the law.
Why does Biden think he is above the law,?
Well, KKkak/Richsockpuppet/paidActbluetrollextendedmainekampfrxcursion(TM)?
I thought it interesting the time that Hur said "Biden presented himself" as an old man with unreliable memory. I thought perhaps that meant he was just pretending in order to have a reasonable defense . . . but turns out he really was a doddering old fool.
Other than their corrupt lawfare, foisting this demented imbecile on us is the greatest sin committed by Democrats against the Republic - so far.
It seems to me that the relevant precedent was the forced release of Nixon’s White House tapes. Democrats have been trying for years to have different laws for prominent Democrats than apply to everyone else — and too often succeeding — but they failed here.
Since country did not disintegrate with Auto-Pen in Depends why not just evacuate DC/decimated/genocided?
This is ridiculous our judicial system is. Well two judges found the privacy rights were outweighed by the public's interest, but 2 other judges would've found the opposite.
It all depends on what the politics of the Judge are. If that's the case we should just save time and get rid of Congress and the POTUS and have open rule by Judges. OTOH, we could leave it up the Department of Justice or the Trump administration to make the call, since they are run by people elected or appointed by someone who was elected.

The Supreme Court needs to weigh in on the auto-pen. The constitution does not give the president the authority to delegate his signing power. Everything signed with autopen should be null and void unless there is evidence Biden was wielding the pen.
That includes the pardons.
When you look into the Appeals court vote what do you find? The Trump judge voted to deny the injunction. The Biden Judge - Pan - voted to support the injuction. The Obama Judge then went with the Trump judge.
BTW, Pan the Taiwanese American Judge was nominated by Biden and approved because the R Senators refused to filibuster her. Almost every Trump appeals judge was filibustered by the D's. But they R's didn't retaliate under Biden, because they're mostly secret liberals. Graham, for example, voted for Pan as did Romney.
Like our Xi-obedient/ Soviet Hack-D media will report on it. LOL.
What Chester said at 9:55. The fact we still have no idea who was running the country for 4-years is astonishing. Perhaps even more mind boggling is that nobody seems particularly interested in finding out. Scary.
"Everything signed with autopen should be null and void unless there is evidence Biden was wielding the pen.

How do you think Trump was able to sign 1600 pardons in his first day, and not even a whole day?
I think we can all agree our guy deserves secrecy and their guy doesn’t.
The Left’s impulse is to hide: intentions, motives, ties, inconvenient facts.
"Biden’s attorneys have argued the conversations with Zwonitzer were candid and always intended to stay private...."
Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. Or the handlers behind the man.
Except Prole’s guy gets to tap the other guys phones and leak the conversations to the press, because Prole gotta have it.
Biden commissions a guy to write his memoirs, then shares his memories with the guy, and that was all always intended to be private.
I did my part and didn’t buy the book and I won’t buy this excuse either.
“Except Prole’s guy gets to tap the other guys phones and leak the conversations to the press, because Prole gotta have it.”
I take it Cruel Neutrality is a concept alien to you.
The coverup of Biden’s heath was a major scandal. Here’s why the mystery of Mitch McConnell’s health status is a politically savvy genius move.
I'm imagining it now. Segways about how goats are like mushrooms, and that the constitution allows you to defend yourself against dog faced pony soldiers because that's all you need, interspersed with copious "listen fats" with a few trunalimunumaprzures for good measure and a diatribe about fish being slanted and requiring beards because he's scared of toasters. I can't wait.
I'm so happy the Ibogaine is working for RSM.
'....The coverup of Biden’s heath was a major scandal. Here’s why the mystery of Mitch McConnell’s health status is a politically savvy genius move. ...'
To make this an ironic example of hypocrisy, an honest good-faith arguer would present examples where conservative commenters are asserting that Mitch is great, top notch form, in complete control of the situation. Best Mitch ever.
Do you have any? No. The pols that do make these assertions are ridiculed for being dishonest by those commenters - just the way Joe's defenders were ridiculed.
You argue in bad faith.
@RideSpaceMountain: "Segways about how goats are like mushrooms"
And the corporate misspelling of "segue" infects spell checking and language. And Apple singlehandedly destroyed the word "ingenious" 20 years ago per its "Genius Bar." It bugs me alot alot I tell you. Alot.
"Back in the day I wore an onion on my belt because that was the fashion of the time."
"You argue in bad faith."
It's the only faith he's got.
Remember, he started out here claiming to be a conservative.
Joe absolutely meant "segways". Goats get into so much malarkey on the segways that Joe told them to just buy shotguns. Armed shroom-eating goats on segways...an administration we can all be proud of.
Fredrica Wilson, the cowboy hat lady, missed votes and was later found to be dead. There was somebody else in Congress with a similar story whose name I don't remember. Now it's all about Tom Kean, Jr. It seems fairly common for representatives and senators to be non compos mentis. The line between actual dementia and their usual state om mental hibernation is hard to draw. Presidents, though, are a different story.

If used to make a legal decision, they're no longer private. Our legal system is suppose to be transparent.
Well-known Althouse troll currently posing as Indefinitely Extended Excursion Excursion writes, "The coverup of Biden’s heath was a major scandal."
Was? IS a major scandal, and getting worse as time passes without major news media figures, Democrat excuse-makers and Trump calumny-purveyors, each and every one, settling their moral debts with the confessions of guilt and acts of contrition decent people are duty-bound to provide. Your feeble efforts to deflect and obfuscate are at once hilarious and pathetic.
Biden is gone. It’s unseemly to keep on kicking him when he’s down and out. Let him rest in peace.
"Biden is gone. It’s unseemly to keep on kicking him when he’s down and out. Let him rest in peace."
Normally, I'd be sympathetic, but I don't think it's healthy for the nation not to have a reckoning over Biden's lawfare campaign against the previous President.
Let's refresh our memories about Biden and classified materials. Biden's garage and the Penn Biden Center (CCP funded and possibly accessible) both contained classified materials from BEFORE he was installed as president --- he had ZERO right to remove or declassify these materials. In contrast to Trump, who had the Presidential power of declassification.
Quite apart from the question of who was running things during the Biden term, one may wonder who was cued up to run things if Kamala had been elected. Certainly not Kamala herself.
"Biden is gone. It’s unseemly to keep on kicking him when he’s down and out. Let him rest in peace."
Satire? Biden is still alive and was President less than 2 years ago. Nixon has been dead for over 30 years. Who gets more abuse?
Who gives a shit about these recordings now?
Also, Biden presented himself as a doddering demented old man at The Debate. That’s the reason the Dems made him quit.
There’s nothing private about Biden’s dementia.
"Biden is gone. It’s unseemly to keep on kicking him when he’s down and out. Let him rest in peace."
Biden himself may be gone, but the cabal that installed him and pulled his strings is still around, if currently out of power. I for one would like to keep it that way.
Yeah Poor Joe Biden.
I thought he was dying of Prostate cancer? Or this one of those terminal illnesses that get you plenty of sympathy but last 20 years?
Hey, I hear Hunter is considering running for President!
Biden won, he ran out the clock on his presidency without having to face the reality of his disabilities. The nation gets to live with the consequences of his existence, but he's home free and can act like he wrote a book or die of cancer at his leisure.

When? WHEN? I would say it was clear many years ago. If you mean when Democrats finally fucking admit and when Republicans push the issue of who was THE DECIDER during the Biden Presidency, I would say NEVER.
How about President signing in blood to show sincerely.
