The London Times reports the news/"news": Taylor Swift got married, in "Taylor Swift gets married to Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden/The bride chose Christian Louboutin shoes and jewellery from Cartier and both wore Dior for the ceremony officiated by the comedy actor Adam Sandler."
I see that these days, "Any person eighteen years old and over can solemnize a Marriage Ceremony in New York State AFTER obtaining a One-Day Marriage Officiant License from the Office of the City Clerk."So you too can have a comedian officiate at your wedding.

Being a wedding officiant in New York is only slightly harder than voting in NY. You probably need to show ID to be a wedding officiant. And I believe someone can vote as you the same day they register your name as theirs.
What a country.
Nothing says “I take this marriage seriously” quite like having an SNL alum officiate.
I get that 37 is a little hotter than usual in NYC, but there are plenty of places where 37 is a normal day. There’s no need to freak out about it. A little basic preparation and you’ll be fine.
For all us normal people, 37c is 98.6. That's pretty hot.
Because I don't follow the NFL that closely and we're constantly subject to Lesbian celebrity weddings, I had to check to make sure Swift wasn't marrying a woman. Anyway, looks like he's a NFL Tight end.
I have an assassin on retainer to officiate at my wedding, should one ever get the best of me.
The judge who officiated at my wedding thought he was a comedian.
The massive success of Adam Sandler is one of the great mysteries of the 21st Century. He was fired from SNL and if I'd bet on anyone in the early 90s becoming a super-star I would've bet on Dana Carvy or Chris Farely. Of course Myers did become very successful but nowhere near what Sandler has done.
Who on Earth is Taylor Swift?
In Vegas, 37C is a nice day to go out and enjoy the weather.
It was right around 102F yesterday at Lake Mead. We went for a cruise and a swim in the boat. The place was the most busy I have ever seen it, but it's so big you can always find privacy on the lake. Water temp is right around 80F. It was a little cool, and everybody was out. We are sitting at the dockside bar people watching, and I watch this woman about 40, just walk right off the dock. I guess she was drunk. I had to get out my phone to unlock the gate to get to her, and pull her out. She refused any help afterward and disappeared in the crowd.
Today is a big 4th party on the grass in Bolder City with food, music, fireworks, and all the patriotism you could ever want. It's always good.
Obligatory wonder: How long will it be before Adam Sandler jokes that he once married Taylor Swift?
My lovely wife and I were married by the late Rev. Richard B. Elsner, who, at one time, was the bass player for Dean Martin's backing band the Golddiggers.
I feel bad for all the people in NYS whose side hustle was destroyed by letting just any Tom, Dick or Harry "solemnize" a wedding.
"So you too can have a comedian officiate at your wedding."
Before I saw Sandler's name, I assumed that was a reference to Mamdani.
I wonder if Spike Lee was in his usual court side seat as they exchanged hoops.
Turns out I guessed right that Adam Sandler was in "The Wedding Singer" which I'm pretty sure I saw but I remember nothing about it.
>"I see that these days, "Any person eighteen years old and over can solemnize a Marriage Ceremony in New York State"<
Actually, they always could, though perhaps not in one day. Let's say a week (before the internet). All they needed was to be ordained a minister of the Universal Life Church.
I've been one of those for over 50yrs, though never have officiated at a wedding. Never did anything with it, for that matter; I became ordained by mail order by the ULC just for the lulz. But I was definitely legal to do weddings in 48 states - including New York.
If anyone gets an invitation to my wedding, ignore it. It's a scam.
“So you too can have a comedian officiate at your wedding.” For this wedding the jokes write themselves. My daughter’s family paid five grand for five tickets to hear Taylor sing about her lost loves.
I'm still curious about the pre-nup. I'll bet it was, like 500 pages.
"I now pronounce you, millionaire, and you, soon-to-be-a-billionaire, as husband and wife. You may now kiss your bankers!"
"Eat ya h'arts out, peons."
"37C heat" ???
huh?
i can understand getting hot for a 36D..
hell; i've got NOTHING against a 37C..
BUT!
Taylor is a flat chested broad..
i'd say she was a 34A last time i looked
what'd she do? get inplants?
You can get a one day license to perform a specific marriage anywhere in the great state of New Yawk for $25.
If you are a:
Clergy member or minister of any religion
A leader of the Society for Ethical Culture
A mayor of a village or city, or a public magistrate or judge
A city clerk in cities of a certain size ...
and want to perform marriage cermonies in NY State, you must register with the state, for no charge. If you are a member of these categories and want to solemnize marriages in one of the five boroughs of NY City, you have to additionally register with the city and pay $15.
In one sense, 37 C = 98.6 F is the perfect temperature. Just as -40 is special because -40 C = -40 F, an ambient temperature of 98.6 F is special because it means your body temperature (if you're healthy) is equal to the ambient temperature. Taylor Swift and her new husband, and all the guests were equally hot inside and out!

What? And violate his NDA?
Congratulations.

I'm betting never. Sandler has been married to his wife, his only wife, for 23 years. They have 2 daughters. And they seem to be a very close family.
Good luck. Hope it lasts forever.
“ I see that these days, "Any person eighteen years old and over can solemnize a Marriage Ceremony in New York State AFTER obtaining a One-Day Marriage Officiant License from the Office of the City Clerk."
Soon they’ll be selling indulgences.
Did not see Sandler as a long time married person. He appears to be a better human being than comedian. His humor was always of the juvenile variety, and when he started looking old and pinched of face it just did not work.
How soon until the next breakup album is released and tour is scheduled?
"Fans gathered as close as they could to the arena in the 37C heat, hoping for a glimpse of the invitees. Meh. Meanwhile, Iran shows how to throw a party:
“ Tens of thousands of people began arriving at dawn at the Grand Mosalla mosque in the capital, Tehran, for the start of six days of public ceremonies. Millions are expected to participate in the funeral as Ayatollah Khamenei’s body is transported to cities across the country.”
I suspect not all of those participating will be mourning.
Iran would be better off with a few more holidays.
Kelsey and Swift both profess Christian faith and show their works in deeds not just words as both have given millions to charitable causes and work in their communities to give back to less fortunate validated by financial records. Its refreshing compared to the millionaires we see and hear about all the time. You do not have to SHOW your generosity by presenting a Sadducee or Pharisee behavior to be shown off. It is in God's eyes where the value to their faith shines. There is nothing more detrimental to Christianity than professing the faith and doing the exact opposite in word and deed. God Bless those two and may their future be guided by the God of their understanding that they not only profess IN THEIR FAITH , but by doing the WORK!
Doesn't the officiant Marry Bride and Groom
I wish them well
I’ve done a few. Advice I heeded- it is not an opportunity to try out your new stand up routine…
"Millions are expected to participate in the funeral as Ayatollah Khamenei’s body is transported to cities across the country.”
I'm really hoping they redeploy the gag casket used in 1989 when sourpuss Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini decided to check out. His falling out of the casket was the highlight for his millions of fans,

Bride and groom marry each other. Everybody else is a witness.
"which I'm pretty sure I saw but I remember nothing about it."
It had Billy Idol in it at the end.
The greenhouse effect (i.e. restricted convection) is a first-order forcing of Catastrophic Anthropogenic Proximate Warming.
bagoh, is there any water in Mead? Last time I was there it was very low.
(and no, this is not any sort of dig at Mr. M. of these premises.)
MADISON SQUARE GARDEN IS WHERE NAZI RALLIES TAKE PLACE.
We we told by the Maddow-hack press.
Dezis, Nazis, and other axes of left-wing models, oh my. Abort.
Gronk is still single. Greatest Tight End ever. Retired but still playing the field.
"bagoh, is there any water in Mead?"
Yea, it's about 4 feet above it's modern record low, which was July, 2022, so we have been here before. The marinas and infrastructure is prepared for it and has moved to deeper water. The biggest threat is power production which starts getting affected about 10 feet lower than now, and stops completely at 90 feet lower. I don't think they will let that happen. Most of the water is for agriculture in CA, and I assume they will cut them off before the power. The federal government took over control this year because the states couldn't come to a deal on the 100 year-old agreement. Even at much lower levels boating and fishing will continue fine. We are expecting El Nino this year to bring it back up some.
When the lake was planned, they estimated 1/10th population we actually have now, and about double the rainfall. Oops.
"MADISON SQUARE GARDEN IS WHERE NAZI RALLIES TAKE PLACE."
Madison Square Garden I (1879–1890): Originally located at Madison Avenue and 26th Street.
Madison Square Garden II (1890–1925): Built on the same 26th Street site and designed by renowned architect Stanford White.
Madison Square Garden III (1925–1968): Moved to Eighth Avenue and 50th Street.
Madison Square Garden IV (1968–Present): The current arena, which sits atop the demolished Penn Station site between 31st and 33rd Streets.
Version III was where the Nazi rally took place.
We did that for our wedding. In CA. My husband had a law school friend who had gone through seminary but elected to not get ordained and follow that path. He and my husband just went to city hall in SF and filled out the paperwork so he could perform the ceremony. We used a borrowed Book of Common Prayer for the ceremony.
An actor who stands up as a comedian who plays an officiater at weddings in a triple whammy to goose the nuptials.
"He and my husband just went to city hall in SF and filled out the paperwork..."
So- it's more work than (according to Democrat desires) becoming a US citizen, then?
Really, who needs a guy to wave his hands to solemnize the proceedings? What matters is between the two participants and the State or God, whichever they worship..
Massachusetts allows the same one-day certificate. And you can do as many as you want on that day!
Sigh. Nothing says commitment quite like having a professional comedian as your wedding officiant. There’s no business like show business, I guess.
They're really sticking with that Celsius, aren't they? It is a 37 degree heat wave. Yeah, right.
Uncut Gems is a pretty good movie. Check it out.
