I learned this lesson the hard way: Do not sleep with a girlfriend at her house if she has an adult son living at home. It’s a good way to get murdered. Do not believe either the mom or the son when they claim that the son is OK with it and just wants his mom to be happy.
The boyfriend was deemed a "burden". Abortive ideation is often Planned and progresses with affirmative action. His Choice.
I looked for James handy, and not a single picture of him appeared in the results. Lots of sites with news of the killing, but no face. I had to go to the IMDB listing.

Geez, these Hollywood kids these days. If they're not being pushed into transgenderism by their tony parents, they're shivving them. And if they've knocked them off for the money, their parole hearings make the news.
I also had to look him up on IMDB. He was one of those actors who was in a lot of stuff but never became a leading character type. He usually played background or expositional characters like cops, military officers and scientists. As the commentors above have noted, he was in a lot of films that we've all seen but we just can't put a face to the name. So obviously, he wasn't a scene stealer. He was just an actor who did good, solid work.

Google gave me lots of photos. He looks sort of like John Lithgow.
Clearly this guy sounds schizophrenic, although if I had just killed someone, I'd go out of my way to sound crazy, too. There was a movie a few years back called Cyrus where John C. Reilly takes up with Marisa Tomei, and Jonah Hill is her weird and scary teenage son. It didn't end in violence, though.
I didn't recognize the name, James Handy, but I certainly recognized the face.
The one role I remember well was his recurring stint as a police chief in NYPD Blue the first few seasons.
