Adlai Stevenson killed a friend accidentally with a handgun when he was 12. That didn't seem to harm his political career--no democrat was going to defeat Eisenhower in the 1950s. Laura Bush was involved in a fatal automobile accident when she ran a stop sign. I think she was 17. So the golf cart thing is no doubt an accident, but the notion that many, let alone most or all, of these other prisoners were there because of "accidents" is so far off the beaten path of reality I think it explains a lot of her other thinking. She is delusional and thus right at home with Gavin.
She ran over her sister when she was 6. Her sister was 8 and was hiding behind the rear of the cart and she put it in reverse.
Her parents are at fault, if they were letting two small kids have their own golf cart!
Yeah people in prison are just accident prone. Dont we all rob liquor stores and then the gun goes off, and boom someone's dead. No ones at fault. Just one of those things. Live and learn.

Who lets a 6-year-old drive a golf cart unattended? She says she wasn't punished. Of course the government didn't punish her, but did her parents? I think it would be healthy for her to have gotten a punishment for trying to drive the golf cart. I also think her parents should have gotten a punishment from the state for leaving the golf cart in a way that it could be started by a child.
Does CA allow felons to vote now? If not, why is she courting their vote?

You cant punish a six year old for driving a golf cart, unless you specifically told them "Dont drive the cart". There are cases of six year olds picking up guns and shooting their siblings thinking it was all a joke - like in a cartoon.

I think it's the opposite. What is the wife of the governor doing, speaking at a prison? She's on the campaign trail, that's what. As with Gavin's 'black people town hall', it's a planned event to showcase the candidate. They actually think this is favorable light, that's how far off-the-chart they are. They're playing in a whole different key to the rest of the band, and calling it music.
Watch out for golf carts, Gavin.

This is a horrendous story, and it's the first time I'm hearing of it. I'm pretty sure we would have heard of it long before if she were a Republican......I have some sympathy for her. That's a heavy burden to lay upon a six year old. Still, I think it's extremely creepy to try to use a tragedy like that for political advantage. There's no plus side to killing your kid sister.
It’s all fun and games till someone gets run over by a golf court. It seems the parents dodged a lot of blame for failing to properly supervise the children. There were no cellphones to blame back then, so I’m assuming alcohol played a significant role in this lapse of judgment.
But as they say, “Every cloud has a silver lining”.

It is an extremely poor analogy- the juveniles she was addressing didn't accidentally kill someone like she did and they weren't 6 years old when they did it. The kind of cluelessness it takes to draw that comparison is epic.

Which is why I think it would have been good (mentally/emotionally) for her to have had some kind of punishment. Maybe some kind of community service that can be done by a child like sorting and filling Dare to Care boxes.

Having played golf for many years, I can't fathom how a golf cart - from a parked position is capable of killing anything. 0-15 mph in 15 seconds. Must have been a wildly unique situation.

I kind of agree, at this stage. He's been trying to cast himself into the Trump model, becoming more brash and abrasive, if that was possible. He's got the billions to throw at a campaign, and he has political savvy as well as a srong bench of insider connections. And he knows how to lie like a Progressive.
I note that he's been hitting the GLP's hard and heavy, dropping the weight. He's got another year to shuck his 'Jabba the Hut' persona and re-identify as fighting fit, before the campaigning starts. Progressives will be suitably impressed at his mastery, just ask him.
