“I let this man into my family … it hurts me that this man hurt a lot of people,” [Senator Ruben] Gallego, who chaired Swalwell’s 2020 presidential campaign, said in emotional remarks where he at times appeared on the verge of tears.
While Gallego conceded he had long heard rumblings that Swalwell was “flirty,” he insisted he was unaware of the severity of the charges being lodged against Swalwell by former staffers — including rape....
Senator Ruben Gallego, Democrat of Arizona, acknowledged on Tuesday that he had long heard rumors that Representative Eric Swalwell was “flirty” with women, but had allowed his longtime friendship with the California Democrat to cloud his judgment and never said or did anything about it.
I could give you many more links to reports of Gallego saying "flirty" to distance and absolve himself of knowledge of anything serious Swalwell may have done.
Nothing I found gave any substance to the characterization "flirty," which sounds like a quality you'd attribute to a school girl or a low-status woman.
When has a man ever been called "flirty"? Why would you call a powerful man flirty? I can only think that you're going out of your way to avoid saying "creepy" or "predatory" or one of those other words that are normally flung at men. Did Swalwell go up to women and say things like "Ooh, I like your dress" — things like that — and only things like that? If not, to say "flirty" is to continue to hide your part in covering for the sexual abuses of your colleagues.

News flash. Politicians lie. The Press lies. The Press transcribes and prints the lies of politicians.
Swallwell was flirty.
Hitler was impulsive.
Dalmer had an appetite.
The Dems brought him down in 7 days.
This reveals more about the corrupt democrat party. Both the internal workings - and what they will allow and cover for until you become "in the way".
Power mob(D).
Remember that quick video with Swalwell kissing the young woman? It sure seems like Gallego was in the room with him.
All these people coming out of the woodwork saying they had indications about Swalwell- to Hell with them.
It's not often that you come across disgusting pigs that are also 'flirty'. I bet that was something to see.
Still, Gallego's disingenuous 'pretending to forget' display is not as disturbing as seeing this thing laid naked, where there no formal process of charges being articulated, and the Congressional body having a debate, and then taking a vote.
Here, it's like the whole slaughter & butcher process is done in the storefront window, starting with the screaming pig getting its throat cut.
I think I prefer the Parliamentary procedure, all said and done, even though it's frequently used to attach credibility and gravitas to outright farce, like those images of Pelosi solemnly walking the impeachment papers across to the Senate.
Then, at least we get to mock them without mercy, and make memes, and re-run video clips highlighting the absurdity. Here, it's just a kind of shock at the speed and savagery.
"The Dems brought him down in 7 days."
Depends on what day you start the count.
He was trying to pick women up, probably because he didn't have one at the moment. If he had one already, that would count as low character.
Somebody citing the passage I want in Sexual Personae scroll down to pigeon. Or read upwards, it's good, on why men act that way and women are baffled.
Pigeons on the grass, alas: in such parkside rituals we may savor the comic pathos of sex. How often one spots a male pigeon making desperate, self-inflating sallies toward the female, as again and again she turns her back on him and nonchalantly marches away. But by concentration and insistence he may carry the day. Nature has blessed him with obliviousness to his own absurdity.
Our political betters are a hot pile of garbage.
I think they chose the day to start to move against him. Why did they choose that day? I thought it was to get some control over the California gubernatorial primary.
I thought it was to get some control over the California gubernatorial primary.
The important thing is that it relies on the obliviousness of women voters to the fraud of scandal about nature.
OK - approximately 7 days.

Aggie- Good points. And that impeachment was based on a phone call - & was all fraudulent and lies build by the corrupt democrat party.
The democrat party is corrupt from top to bottom.
James Carville(D-worm) is not hiding how the corrupt dems will re-gain power. It's all corruption based.
Lots of images of Gellego in tandem with Swalwel and the good times and perks that come with being a democrat in congress.
Dog rejects male pestering with fine white teeth. The male is not discouraged. It's been half a minute, maybe she's ready by now.
I'm coquettish, is that so wrong?!
Actually kari lake had the story two years but no one cared
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna accuses Sen. Gallego of sexual misconduct.

"to say "flirty" is to continue to hide your part in covering for the sexual abuses of your colleagues." Exactly. CYA. Works with their base: does any female Dem voter now switch because of bad male Dem behavior? Didn't think so.
Give Dems props for sheer ruthlessness. Anything for the party. Party ueber alles.
If they knew what Swalwell got up to, calling what he did "flirty" is obscene.
If they didn't, then saying, "Well, I knew he was flirty" is understandable.
Of course they did as with weiner and a whole host of miscreants
Just because a guy is a bottom pincher that doesn’t mean he won’t be a good babysitter for your kids.

The Corrupt left's dirty games.
Flirty, hurty semantics... and affirmative action, equivocal and inane.

Lots of men have been called "flirty" - men who are not "creepy" or the radfem shibboleth "predatory." You know, men who are simply flirty. This is not to say that Swalwell or some flirty men aren't creepy - they are. It is merely to address your erroneous, feminism-smothered generalization.
>Why would you call a powerful man flirty?<
Jeez, I don't know, because he's straight up flirtatious?
>I can only think that you're going out of your way to avoid saying "creepy" or "predatory" or one of those other words that are normally flung at men.<
Hmm, That's pretty warped. Flirting goes way back, Ann; you know, it's basic birds 'n bees stuff. Perhaps you weren't flirted with enough?
Nothing I found gave any substance to the characterization "flirty," which sounds like a quality you'd attribute to a school girl or a low-status woman.
This is where your style of feminism alters your judgment. Since when is "flirty" a status or even a gender marker?
When has a man ever been called "flirty"?
Less common no doubt but in my circle plenty of times.
I'm no fan of Gallego fwiw. All of the above definitely sounds evasive as applied to this case.
Swallwell is "flirty". Trump is "rapacious".
"Eric Swalwell is no Tom Brady."
The Democrats moved on Swalwell because ballots can be collected starting the first week of May. He needed to be removed from the race before that week in May and so they needed a cushion of time if he proved recalcitrant.
Nothing says “flirty” quite like using date rape drugs.
What people humans in all political and religious contexts have in common is human nature. I would guess that both Democrats and Republicans are equally inclined to cheat on their wives.. Where Democrats have a clear advantage is how these transgressions are reported or even if they're reported at all. Reporting on Swalwell's transgressions is not the way to a Pulitzer, but the reporters really blew the lid off of the fulsome way Kavanaugh drank beek in college.......There are literally hundreds of women who have interesting anecdotes to tell about JFK and Bill Clinton, but where are these stories and where are the reporters pursuing them?

Why would Nancy Pelosi nominate and later, as Speaker of the House, reappoint Swalwell to the House Intelligence committee, multiple times, especially after the 2020 Chinese spy controversy? Talk about flirting! Flirting with disaster. Shouldn’t Pelosi be held to account, given due process, expelled?
Liberace was flirty. Swalwell is no Liberace.
They use "flirty", but what they mean is "grab them by the pussy".
Strange - the leftist fem-o-rage & pussy hat gals sure are silent.
Trump: "When you're a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab 'em by the pussy. You can do anything."
Swalwell: "You can just drug them too, right daddy?"
Trump: "No, kid. That's a loser move. The important part is they LET you do it., but even then, you need to get it in writing"
Later, as Speaker of the House, Kevin McCarthy kicked Swalwell off the Intel Committee after reading the FBI files on Swalwell. Pelosi would have had knowledge of those same files. But for some reason she flirted with a national security disaster. Like a Little Town Flirt.
"I blacked out!"
If Republicans were even just accused of the amount of stuff Democrats regularly get away with, there would not even be a Republican party.
"Pelosi would have had knowledge of those same files. But for some reason she flirted with a national security disaster."
Yea, I'd like to know why she did that. Why elevate him rather than someone else? I guess because she had this dirt on him and it made him vulnerable and thus she could get him to dance like a trained poodle.
Equal opportunity flirters, acting inappropriately sexually or provocatively in social, professional, or romantic contexts to gain attention. They have difficulty with intimacy and are highly manipulative. Despite all this, people with Histrionic Personality Disorder are often able to function at a high level socially and professionally. Being superficial, charming, and manipulative can be mistaken for effective leadership skills. These losers are attracted to power turning on their false superficial charm facade while being highly calculating and focused on self-interest. These types of losers are rewarded in competitive political environments. Good men are hard to find. Chimps are not men. A good man has developed a superego, a chimp in a suit is lacking it.
We all flirt with attractive people. We just do it differently depending on the circumstance. We even flirt with people we don't find attractive. It's very human, and extremely common. One of the most common forms of human interaction.
I still struggle to piece it all together.
1. What if Republicans saw their advantage position in California's primary, with 2 (R) candidates front-running, and decided they needed to torpedo the clear (D) front-runner to provide a little margin with a field of weaker (D) candidates? Who started the 'sex-pest' rumors in Washington? Who decided it was time to start investigating Swalwell? When did the scuttlebutt about a House investigation get started?
2. Pelosi, seeing the writing on the wall, decides that if Swalwell is going to get taken out, then a (R) House member needs to go as well. Gonzales gets served up.
3. Republicans decide that Galegos (D) is vulnerable, and getting ripe too, and start the process to serve him up.
4. What are the odds a second (R) House member is going to find out he has problems, if Galegos is forced out?
Are the Republicans learning how to play politics with the gloves off?
Nice to see Porter getting what she deserves, in the polls.
I think its steyer in the library with the candle stick
Whoops: Gallego, Senator, not Galegos.
Flirty? Creepy? Whatever YOUR favorite word is for being a friendly human being???
If I have a close encounter with a human being of any age or sex, unless they have a clearly toxic attitude, I'm going to speak to them or, at least, offer a nod and a smile.
If I know them or they're wearing a name tag, I am going to address them by name and I am going to say something positive. Unless I know them well and trust they know me weel I NEVER say anything remotely suggistive.
Frankly, there are a lot of people in this world who freak out when a stranger speaks to them - including people whose jobs include human interaction. Wrong class, wrong color, wrong sex, wrong culture, wrong appearance, wrong age...
I believe nice wins but you can't win 'em all.
I'm 83 and I fully admit to having an eye for attractive ladies. Some of my favorites are in their 70s and 80s (two are 100!).
But, Mother Nature favors the young in many ways - not all physical (it can be refreshing to talk with a woman who isn't positive that she already KNOWS Everything).
Footnote: Couple of years ago, I'm walking down a supermarket aisle and see a woman coming my way. Probably mid-30s, pleasant looking, casually dressed. Not remarkable or attempting to be attractive in any way BUT, Jesus, there was Sdomething about her...
I did not stare. She did not seem to notice me. We kept walking past one-another. After a few more steps, I could stand it no longer. I stopped and turned around for another look. A heartbeat after I did that, she truned and caught me peeking! Kind of embarrassing, really. Then, I realized she looked a little sheepish, too. Damned, if she hadn't been caught doing the same thing. We grinned at each other like the fools we were and turned and went our separate ways. She made my day and I just might have made hers. Flirty??? Creepy??? Others may judge but I really don't give a crap.
I thought he was committing sexual assault with his employees, not batting his big blue eyes and flipping his hair.
I've never heard any man say "Yeah, I was flirting with her".

I was looking back to see if you were looking back to see
If I was looking back to see if you were looking back at me
You were cute as you could be standing looking back at me
Cartoon of woman being approached by handsome guy = okay, but ugly guy = harrassment.
I would never call myself flirty, slutty perhaps.
Female advisors told him to use the word flirty. They are in their 20s and want him to sound gay. Flirtatious sounds too old fashioned to his base of female voters.
Ruben is a sociopath like Eric. So are their female advisors.
The video of Eric & Ruben in the hotel room with a young woman isn’t flirty. It’s predatory.
One of the differences between flirty and creepy is when both parties understand the difference between fooling around and "fooling around".
Perhaps apropos of nothing: When it comes to breakfast, the hen is "involved" but the pig is "committed". It's good to know what you're getting into.
After watching Trump sign an executive order about psychedelics this morning, I started googling about the Beatles use of LSD. I also found some posts about their use of other drugs. George Harrison would spend hours meditating, then snort a mountain of cocaine and flirt with all the girls. Another flirty guy! Big difference - I'm very confident that George NEVER had to coerce someone to have sex with him.
"He was almost in tears" - now I know he's lying about what he knew of Swalwell. I trust Democrat politicians even less than fake news propaganda swill. How convenient to give him a platform. I wonder what Rep Luna will have to say.
On a first date four years ago, a young woman told me I have "flirtacious eyes". We have passed our third wedding anniversary and now have daughters aged two and one. THIS is what can happen when men are "flirty". Women be advised or warned according to your custom.

Flirt/rape
Poh-tay-toe/Poh-tah-toe (D).
How many on the left believe and spread their "truth" that DJT has been convicted of rape? Maybe I'll respond to future examples of Trump rapes by correcting that to "flirtation".
Maybe Whoopie would add flirt-flirt/rape-rape
