On the above-the-fold front page of The New York Times, one story stands out.

Do you see it? When you see it, you will know. It may take a little while, and you will not need to say "Is it 'Republicans Brace for Brutal Midterms'? Or whatever. You will, I think, laugh. Because of course....

OK, it's early, but I'll go with (1) the cheetahs, or (2) the jerseys...

Ya, cheetahs. They always make me hopeful. Every time. Especially while dodging bullets from my government.

How about coyotes

Cheetahs.
The "Disappointed Trump Voters" is a daily feature, no?

narciso said...

There is no real news just wishcasting

narciso said...

As if they would know any trump voters

You might think a gunman running wild at the WHCD is more newsworthy than a cheetah in Iran, but that's why you're sitting at home sipping coffee rather than managing the front page of the NYT.

Aggie said...

All bad news, all the time, if you're Trump and you're not working out in the park. King Charles visits, but it'll be a bad visit because they're mad at Trump and Republicans are going to get pasted in the mid-terms, according to a dozen dissatisfied voters who absolutely voted for Trump, while paying more for their gasoline and watching all of the natural gas go to somebody else overseas while oil companies got rich. And the cheetahs would be doing OK now, but Trump started a war and now they're suffering. He probably designed those uniform jerseys, too, after he made the roads more dangerous.

I agree narciso, the whole page is wiskcasting. Does anyone think a small UK agency is doing anything to help ships in the Strait of Hormuz? It can’t do anymore than a Canadian suicide prevention helpline. Sure, see a Cheetah and have hope that it might not be hungry enough to see you as prey.

MSOM said...

For the good of the world, the US needs to produce and export more natural gas. More fracking! More pipelines!

dbp said...

What struck me was how the image which went with the work out in the park story, was right above a story about a highway, using the phrase, "tight curves".

Dave Begley said...

After Iran surrenders, Trump’s popularity soars.

Aggie said...

She's bracing herself on the park bench for midriff, and yes, I noticed the 'tight curves' story. The cheetah is offering up some spots, too. Somebody is bored at the NYT

…thankful Ann’s course moment is as elusive to others…It’s really the Republicans Are In Trouble story that’s the of course for me- perfectly timed every election year, not to report the facts but to motivate lefties with a bit of hope. The D+3 generic vote is tragic for Democrats, even CNN admitted a few weeks ago. I figured the airline strike and astroturf riots would be ramping in NYT up by now but perhaps we’re a week it two away…

Headline: “The World Needs Natural Gas Now, but the U.S. is Exporting All It Can” makes zero sense.

Yes the Pinafore agency doesnt impress

I almost want to grab a hard copy of the paper for the Highway 1 story. Almost.

We've been to the southern terminus of US1 already, and want to see its northern terminus in Fort Kent, Maine soon. That will check off one of the five US states we haven't visited yet, and as a bonus, another Canadian province. New Brunswick is just over the bridge.

"Trump is Dissatisfied with Iran's Plan to Reopen the Strait of Hormuz."
Well, that's one way to put it.
How about "Iran Proposes More Bullshit About 'Opening the Strait of Hormuz;' 'No Nukes or No Deal' says Trump."

Phaedrus said...

Too cute by half, maybe, but otherwise lazy headline

Spots aren’t rare in the animal world.

Spots, likewise, just “are” in geography. It’s the observers that are rare.

A spotless cheetah would be kind of rare, tho. Might depend on the spot it was spotted. Probably moreso Acinonyx Jubatus Venaticus is insignificantly more likely to be spotless than Acinonyx Jubatus Jubatus. Venaticus is the Asian sub-species found in Iran, so while rare, not the rarest.

There is Hope!

(Hope is not rare. It’s something 75% of the Iranian people currently embrace)

It may be a while before we find out the extent of the administration's inexpertise. Take your time. The US declines; China rises. Iran endures. No hurry here.

Regime change in Iran was always a simplistic delusion. Netanyahu has led Israel up into the box canyon of all time. The Americans are going to go home; just like in Saigon in 1975.

Remember, it's not a "forever war," it's an "as long as it takes war."

It isn't Iran we are negotiating with. They are all already dead.

China also already surrendered.

It is Europe, WEF, and the Democrat party we are negotiating with now.

After trying to kill Trump for the 3rd time democrats have zero chance in the midterms btw. No actual voter like you fascist violent disgusting pieces of shit.

Hakeem Jeffries wants to be speaker and is out there saying Maximum War so he can be president by getting the 2 people in front of him killed.

I hope you people keep it up.

How is the US declining? Our economy is being flooded with dollars from Europe and China buying oil from us.

You just don't understand the words you are being fed by you WEF masters. You are a retard and everyone just laughs at you.

Iran has just informed us that they are in a “State of Collapse.” They want us to “Open the Hormuz Strait,” as soon as possible, as they try to figure out their leadership situation (Which I believe they will be able to do!). Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP

"Cheetahs offer rare spots." If nobody catches the word play aren't you, in effect, word playing with yourself.......My life hasn't changed dramatically, pro or con, since our withdrawal from Afghanistan. I think the losers in Afghanistan were the women in Afghanistan.......In Vietnam, something like a million citizens were arrested and sent to "reeducation" centers after the North Viet Commies took over. Several million South Vietnamese had to flee their country. This includes most of the ethnic Chinese who had been living there for centuries. If it hadn't been done by Commies, it would be considered ethnic cleansing. Bruce Springsteen wrote several songs protesting their treatment--never. Anyway, I wouldn't describe the USA as the biggest losers in Vietnam. That was the people in Vietnam. The big winners were Jane Fonda and Abby Hoffman.

If things turn out well, which will be the case if they provide mass quantities of small arms to the Iranian people, the strait will open and Trump will deserve the arch.

The ballroom is obviously necessary no matter who is president, and Kimmel is an unfunny asshole who should have been fired years ago.

Someone mistakenly placed the word "opinion" in the lower right corner. It should be up there at the top in olde English, right after the word "Times".
