"I want to thank Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who is fantastic.... And people love him. More importantly, your wife is here.... Real boss in the family. It's fantastic.... Joe Rogan — fantastic. We did an interview before the election. We had over 300 million people. And I said, oh, man, I hope Kamala doesn't do it and she didn't. He wanted her to do it and she didn't Some day, Joe's gonna explain why. I can tell you why. Because she didn't want to.... The executive order I'm signing... today.... directs the FDA to expedite their review of certain psychedelics already designated as breakthrough therapy drugs.... If these turn out to be as good as people are saying, it's gonna have a tremendous impact on this country and other countries too.... Usually with things like this, nothing ever happens, no matter how the research ends up. We're changing that...."

Because the data was SO CONVINCING and STUNNING

Our health care industry is designed to keep us sick and buying drugs.
And least Trump is trying to do something about it.
Its nice that Trump is PROPOSING that. But it doesnt become official until the 600 US District Judges approve. Sorry.
If these drugs help people fine.
Rogan recently had Governor Rick Perry on, and they talked about this.
Trump’s speaking style still mesmerizes me.
“Can I have some, please? I’ll take some. I don’t have time to be depressed. You know, you stay busy enough, maybe that works too. That’s what I do.”
Could it be that Trump started the Iran war is to self-medicate his depression?
This might be the most significant action yet. Imagine drug addiction being wiped out.
Adderall helped college kids get better grades, at least in the short term. Psychedelics will make them get worse grades.
Trump also believes that drinking diet soda prevents cancer:
"Donald Trump defended his consumption of diet soda by suggesting it might help prevent cancer, according to recent comments shared by Mehmet Oz in an interview with Donald Trump Jr.
The remarks have even prompted some doctors to remind the public that, no, diet soda will not do anything to prevent cancer.
“Your dad argues that diet soda is good for him because it kills grass – if poured on grass – so, therefore, it must kill cancer cells inside the body,” Oz said on Triggered with Don Jr, the president’s eldest son’s podcast.
Roundup also kills grass if you pour it on grass.
The few times I tried full on LSD, I learned that the ego dispersion was not for me. But a half hit of good old Texas blotter made for a fine night on the town.
This is good news and good policy.
They did this before in the 60s. The government shut it down because most people who use (psychedelic) drugs discover there’s more to life than working, paying taxes, dying.
That the regulation and use is informed by, and the use of psychedelics effectively blocked by, residual moral panic from the 1960s and 1970s is absurd and a tragedy for all those who could benefit, which is, quite frankly, everyone.
On an experiential level, the “trip” obliterates the sense of self so that all that is left is sensation -- one that can represent past occurrences, ingrained positions, patterns, beliefs and emotions.
On a physiological level it breaks neural connections which allows new pathways to be created. The result is that you are keenly aware of your thought processes, from the superficial to the most foundational, and able to dispassionately analyse, judge, and even reject them.
It’s incredibly revealing and empowering.
Our medical establishment should be guided by science, not by fads or emotion. I'm skeptical that psychedelics will be as effective as the advocates believe, but do the research and find out. If it helps people, then prescribe it.
Trump gets things done. He makes Biden, Obama, George W, Clinton and Bush senior look lazy and timid.
This is for heroes like Marcus Luttrell.
All the lefties in my orbit in Boston are on Adderall and the anxiety drugs like Xanax or one of the others that makes you feel infallible…
Something tells me this isn’t going to end well.
Should have played Jefferson Airplanes' White Rabbit song from the 60's as he was signing this EO; that would have exploded a few Hippie heads who hate Trump with a white-hot fever.
Cool. Joe Rogan has been very openly critical of the war with Iran, but they can come together for something they both agree on.
Just like only Nixon the hardcore anticommunist could go to China, only Trump the teetotaller can legalize drugs. CC, JSM
I watched the signing ceremony live on LIVENow Fox (a good channel, almost all live events and almost no talking head commentary). Trump was very funny, had many people there to speak on the wisdom of the EO, including Special Forces members who had suffered PTSD and had treated it with psychedelics (in Mexico, I believe), and it seemed clear that Trump knew them and their stories well and that they thought warmly of Trump.
The research has been plagued by lack of objectivity. Almost all the research is being done by people who say "This stuff is great, I use it all the time." When there is a good Phase II trial it gets ruined by Phase III researchers who are advocates. There seems to be limited use for specific conditions which involve reducing anxiety and loosening associations under controlled, coached treatment. What we get instead is people who say "It really helped me understand that I am one with the universe, so I decided to drop my other responsibilities to just tell everyone how great this is."
It is really hard to find advocates for research who haven't already used the stuff. Poisoned results.
Donald Trump Pushes Drugs
- NYT headline (probably)
"Joe Rogan has been very openly critical of the war with Iran, but they can come together for something they both agree on."
Now that's just crazy talk.
