"... will work tirelessly to bring Iran back from the brink of destruction, making it economically bigger, better, and stronger than ever before. IRAN WILL HAVE A GREAT FUTURE. 'MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN (MIGA!).' Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP."
Writes Trump, at Truth Social.
That's not the first time Trump has used "MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN." I'm seeing:
June 22, 2025: "It’s not politically correct to use the term, 'Regime Change,' but if the current Iranian Regime is unable to MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN, why wouldn’t there be a Regime change??? MIGA!!!"
January 13, 2026: "Iranian Patriots, KEEP PROTESTING - TAKE OVER YOUR INSTITUTIONS!!! Save the names of the killers and abusers. They will pay a big price. I have cancelled all meetings with Iranian Officials until the senseless killing of protesters STOPS. HELP IS ON ITS WAY. MIGA!!! PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP"

Trump’s tagline might be more like this: “You cannot make an omelette without breaking eggs — and the eggshells are someone else’s problem.”
He’s breaking eggs but has no plan to make an omelette. Nor even a concept of a plan.

Trump is winning the war on jobs too!
Trump’s war with Iran is far from over. Calling for a nation to surrender unconditionally is the very definition of war. By any honest reading of the Constitution, such a campaign requires a formal declaration of war.
What goes around, comes around. Russia is providing Iran with ISR, precise targeting information, for example, six early warning radars in the ME have been taken out. Radars that were built to detect missile launches in Iran.
China is providing public satellite imagery of the results of these strikes, and providing imagery that proves, for example, that the Saudis were lying about not being involved, by showing US warplanes at their airbases.
After the 12 day war, the assessment was that Iran's missiles had an accuracy of about a kilometer. Somebody upgraded their missile accuracy markedly, I doubt they did it themselves, and they are accurately striking radar domes dead center, as shown by Chinese satellites.
Russia can provide the Iranian "regime" with enough food for them to distribute. Who knows what China is providing. And Russia also is cutting off NG to Europe, while the provider of 20% of the worlds LNG is supplied by Qatar, and they have shut down production, and it will likely be a month before it restarts if the war ends today. God help us if it goes the 100 days that Hegseth is talking about.
I hope Trump has worked this all through, and it's not just about his family getting rich off of what is today $90 a barrel oil. Putin says thank you, BTW.
I am sure that Trump has the situation well in hand and you guys will be gloating when this is all over next week and the price of gas drops back to under $3 before the mid-terms, and MAGA will sweep to unprecedented electoral power.

Why hasn't Ukraine collapsed under four years of missile barrages? Iran is twice as large as Ukraine, and has a far larger population. And the pro-Western Iranians? They mostly live in Tehran, and we are destroying their homes.
No one could have predicted that starting a trade war would lead to the loss of jobs.
When you look at the map it’s hard to see how the US (or Israel) could successfully invade Iran. So as long as the Iranians have the resolve to just sit there and be bombed, there’s no way to make them surrender, or even change their form of government. Only an internal uprising could do the trick, and we can’t make that happen.

Migas is a dish of "crumbs" (migas means "crumbs" in Spanish) made from fried tortilla pieces or stale bread, mixed with eggs and other ingredients like vegetables, cheese, and sometimes meat, served as a savory breakfast or brunch. While the Tex-Mex version is famous for using tortilla chips scrambled with eggs, onions, tomatoes, and peppers, Spanish versions use stale bread and can include chorizo, potatoes, and kale, showcasing how the dish varies across cultures but always uses leftovers.

Outstanding! Then scrap the $50 billion emergency supplemental handout to pad defense industry profits and sustain Trump’s bottomless war appetite. By his own account, he already has everything required.
"The US military has more than enough munitions, ammo, and weapons stockpiles to continue demolishing the Iranian regime and finish Operation Epic Fury, no matter how long it lasts. Nevertheless, President Trump has always been intensely focused on strengthening our military, which is why this meeting with defense contractors was scheduled weeks ago. The President will continue to call on these US companies to more speedily build American-made weapons, which are the absolute best in the world.” ~ Karoline Leavitt

The price of oil will start to skyrocket in a couple weeks. The straits are closed and our bombing campaign cant stop Iran from hitting oil tankers. Oh well, at least israel and Bibi are happy. And doesn't that make it all worth while?
Everyone knows the USA/Israel killed over 100 school girls in Iran. Its not "Likely" or "Possible". Its the truth.
Differences between Iraq and Iran:
- Iraq had an oppressed 60% Shia majority; Iran has an oppressed 90% Shia majority.
- Who was/is oppressing them? Iraq: Sunni ruling elite, drawn from significant 40% Sunni minority. Iran: Shia ruling elite, a small number of assholes from that 90% Shia majority.
- So what happens on decapitation? Iraq: Sunni fear for their fucking lives as Shia seek revenge and security. Foreign Sunni fighters come in to help their brothers. Shia fighters and eventually anyone anti-US get IRGC assistance from over the border. Iran: Remaining 89.99999% Shia figure out how to govern themselves. No foreign friends to help whatever regime remnants want to keep fighting: the mullahs have pissed off all their neighbors with missile strikes, the Assad regime is gone, and Hamas/Hezb are pinned down by the IDF.
- What was US long term plan? Iraq: We're gonna show y'all how to be a country. Here's some purple ink. Iran: Don't fuck up again or we'll be back.
- What happens long term? Iraq: still trying to build a functional country. Was a client state for so long that it's building basic stuff from scratch. Iran: Has been independent for nearly 50 years. Corrupt mullahs and IRGC like money so they have been economically active with whatever part of the world will deal with them. Have R&D and manufacturing, even though military-oriented. Rentier economy, but seems to be run by Iranians because of their pariah status. Persian culture literally more civilized (oriented around cities, trade, industry, nation) than Arab tribal raid/gimme culture.
So I think there is more hope for Iran. CC, JSM
Israel probably killed 30,000 kids (Given they killed 75,000 civilians in Gaza) during their bombing campaign, and no one in the USA said boo. So, I don't think Americans care. But Iranians do care, and no Iranian Government is going to surrender to Trump after something like that.
USA: Hello Please surrender Iran, we'll rebuild your society, yknow like we did Iraq.
Iran: Uh, no thanks.
RC - I think people of reasonable intelligence acknowledge that Hamas propaganda is anti-American anti-Western propaganda. Sure, Democrats and leftist and Howard Zin types will always believe anti-western propaganda, but people of reasonable or even average intelligence recognize that Hamas propaganda is exactly that.
We can always count on you taking the most anti-American anti-Western values anti-western civilization propaganda as fact, as long as there is an antisemitic angle.
What a loser.
Rc my suspicion is that you do not hate Western civilization, and our values. It’s so strange because I think you actually support freedom of speech, the right to vote, freedom of expression, and all those values that made western civilization great. So it’s so strange to me that someone could hate Jews so deeply and so completely that you advocate for the head choppers, the enemies of civilization. You are like bill Crystal or David French. People who once advocated for western civilization, but found that they hate so much and so deeply that they are willing to cast away all of their values. In their case, they hate Trump so much that they are willing to abandon their principles. In your case, you hate Jews so much that you abandoned western civilization, and wish to see us lose in our existential fight.

I thought of migas this morning, as I picked up a breakfast taco. There's a terrific cafe near me that recently moved to an even closer location. It's run by a bunch of Mexican ladies, they are hard chargers and do it all by hand. This new location has a bigger kitchen / prep area, a nicer sit-down section, and a steadily growing clientele. It was jammed this morning, landscaper's trucks and BMWs in the parking lot. A terrific success story, the kind everybody likes. And excellent food.
The Iran adventure needs to proceed at its present pace and wrap up.
The BBC is reporting today on the improvements already being seen on the street in Venezuela, funny how that story gets no American air time, wut?
Trump’s arrogance is often a virtue in producing positive results. It can be a negative factor politically. Rubio articulates several good reasons for the Action in Iran, none of which are MIGA. American voters are probably smart enough to be receptive to denying Iran funding for terrorism or the means to nuke us. I doubt they care about MIGA.
BTW, have any Islamists anywhere ever surrendered unconditionally?

FDR echoed that refrain in his speech before Congress on December 8, 1941. "But always will our whole nation remember the character of the onslaught against us. No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion, the American people in their righteous might will win through to absolute victory.

Yes. If you are a terrorist country that tries to obtain nuclear weapons, the US will destroy you.
No ifs, ands, or buts about it.
If you're a sane human being, you support this policy. Which is why only Democrats oppose it
"Unconditional surrender" is a terrible plan, though it might be OK as a negotiating start. We can't enforce it without boots on the ground, and I think everybody knows that.
I left my crystal ball in my other pants, but I can guess. The "art of the possible" suggests that the IRGC will play a role in any new government -- who is there with the force to eliminate them? Stymie, perhaps, eliminate, no. That suggests that any new government will be not terribly stable and not reliably friendly, though probably less bad than what's there now.

We wish the Iranians the best of luck afterwards, and we'll be happy to welcome them to our world order (where China has to pay market prices to get their oil) if they chose to be civilized.
But we owe them nothing. Their rulers threaten us, so we destroyed them. Rulers who want to live will note the outcome

Bullshit.
Iranians are currently using every scrap of internet access they can get to tell Israel where regime forces are so Israel can bomb and kill them.
After maybe another week of that, we start dropping cases of AK-47s and ammo in civilian areas of every city, and tell teh people it's time to rise up.
Then when the rulers of Iran get tired of being slaughtered by the people they've been terrorizing, they come begging to us for protection.
And we'll tell them if they unconditionally surrender, and turn over all the regime foreign banking accounts to us, we'll let them and their families bug out with a small pile of cash.
Or, maybe we'll just sit back and watch, and just bomb any time the regime gets troops together, until everyone in teh regime is dead.
RC is like the women's studies majors at Columbia. Advocates for Hamas and Al-Jazeera. Everything is always America's fault and it's because the JOOOOS control everything.

Anyone 5’9 and over wearing a burka in Iran wil be killed by a drone
The real scandal is not that a bomb perhaps went astray but rather that a regime would choose to put a girl's school next to a primary target.......To date, more Iranians have been killed by the IRGC than by our bombs...........There's a joke on Wall St, that the market can be wrong longer than you can be right. I think Iran is betting that they can withstand our bombing longer than we can withstand $100 per barrel oil. We'll see how it goes, but we're gambling with our economy and they're gambling with their lives........I don't think the Taliban made rational choices, but for just that reason, they won their bet.

The Cheney's were intent on using the US military to keep globalist powers entrenched. There was some war profiteering on the side.

I disagree a LITTLE. 1) You know Venezuela is going great? How do you know? Well if there is ANY shooting in American (not black-on-black) it is publicized all day and all night because the media generally hate traditional America and they really hate guns so EVERY mass shooting is publicized as much as possible. If you are not hearing about Venezuela it's because the good guys are winning and in general the media hate America.
2) IRGC is huge. So is the traditional army. How many IRGC are true believers and how many are getting paid to do it? No one knows. But once the money spigot is turned off the paid employees are done. You'll only have the true believers. How many of them are there, what happens when the traditional army decides they don't want to die, and what happens when the 99.99% of the population that hates the mullahs stop taking it?
It reminds me of a movie back maybe inthe 1990's? Something about Czechoslovakia where the secret police were torturing the population. Gradually it became clear that freedom would win. In almost the last scene the notorious vicious Stasi type policeman silently removes his Stasi pin and replaces it with a freedom pin and melts into the crowd.
I wonder if a meaningful part of the IRGC will do the same.
No the irgc are both the support structure of the regime and the elite forces (much like the republican guard)

“Magazine depth” (drones, missiles and interceptors) across the two regions are interlinked. Russia uses Shahed drones in Ukraine (but is now producing its own jet powered drones). Ukraine produces lowcost interceptors. It’s now all connected.
Politically, this news forces the Trump administration to acknowledge Russia as an adversary in this conflict and perhaps more broadly on the global stage. It’s becoming untenable to give Russia a pass in Ukraine, while working to dismantle its ally Iran in the Middle East.
Buckle up, Trump is going to have to work very hard to square this circle and contain the global mess he has unleashed.
The Kak and Jaq show is pretty tedious. Like, take a break, go outside or something.
Kak - Russia is tapped out. All its resources are going into Ukraine and it just lost an entire generation of men.
China just lost a major part of its oil supply. It is estimated to have 90 days of reserve. Trump is about to control China's ability to fuel itself. China just stopped exporting petroleum products because it acknowledges it is in a VERY tight spot.
What do you think just happened to China's taking Taiwan without petroleum products? Without energy?
Your posts almost read like a thousand monkeys typing randomly.
I thought of Jaq et.al. when I read this article by an al-Jazeera apologist for Iran, titled "The End of Iran's Strategic Patience."

Wonder why Putin can afford to be so bold with Trump and why Trump seems so subservient to Putin.
“Wonder why Putin can afford to be so bold with Trump and why Trump seems so subservient to Putin.”
Nope, no need to wonder most of us know why. Same reason Trump is Bibi’s bitch.
Some thoughts -
It seems unlikely that China can significantly resupply Iran under current conditions. US strategic reconnaissance is (probably) such that any flights into Iran by jet aircraft aren't going to be secret, if indeed there still are still airfields they can use.
Russian recon is far from real-time, and Iran (probably) doesnt have anything it can use to take advantage of targeting information to attack USN task forces. Iran probably did try, early on, to no effect so far.
Iranian firepower of all sorts is a wasting asset. It was strongest, by far, initially.
The Gulf states, plus Saudi Arabia have very significant air forces, and air control over Iran is such that they should have a free go over Iran too. But I doubt the US and Israel want them to help, they (probably) arent integrated into the US-Israeli targeting/deconfliction system apparently in use, and the risk of civilian damage in Iran is too high.
They could be used, maybe, as an anti-cruise missle CAP over the straits.
This would have been a perfect use case for US frigates or small combatants, that never were, as convoy escorts. The DOD deserves a reaming for having screwed that up for twenty years in spite of understanding the issue thoroughly.
Putin is bold with Trump?
112 comments and maybe a dozen worth reading.

Hollywood is officially done.
Unconditional surrender has a very specific meaning. Do you suppose anyone in the White House realizes that?

Wasn't Trump Puntin's bitch?
You should remember what you were saying yesterday. You wouldn't sound like such a retard.
The laser weapon in use on the USS Preble (Arleigh Burke destroyer), reading between the lines, seems to have been very effective against drones/cruise missiles. Unfortunately, based only on open source, its the only such ship so equipped. This project has been pursued much too slowly over the last @5 years. Usual DOD inefficiency and lack of urgency. You will want hundreds of these in re China.

We notice that you morons aren't talking about Venezuela anymore.
You are too stupid to see what is going to happen over the next 10 months but let me help you out.
Democrats are going to be crying as Iranian people are in video ads thanking Trump for saving them from Mullah rule. Particularly the women.
In 6 months the stability of production in Iran will start kicking in and the global price of Oil will even out for all countries. China will no longer be getting cheaper Oil than the US and prices for Americans will come down.
Just in time for the midterms.
Meanwhile keep drooling on your keyboard like an idiot. It is fun to watch.

China was so sure they were going to sink a carrier or two that they released the weapons shipment of the supersonic "ship killer" missiles.
Obviously Chinese hardware is failing epically all over Iran right now.
Xi is still purging his top military ranks.
"Unconditional surrender has a very specific meaning"
Does it?
As with anything human its got endless wiggle room.
Japan surrendered unconditionally, ostensibly, but as we know, with a good number of tacit side deals, like the emperor stays, along with the zaibatsus.
Aguinaldo was captured at gunpoint by Frederick Funston in 1901, and then officially surrendered his forces unconditionally. Some of which however continued fighting (a few for anothe 5 years) And then Aguinaldo was permitted to run his province as a fiefdom for 30 years. Make no trouble, and you get to do as you like with your bit of the Philippines.
The statement attempting to lock in a meaning to "unconditional surrender" lacks, er, nuance and historical context.
“Wasn't Trump Puntin's bitch?”
Obviously Trump pissed Putin off when he attacked Putin’s ally Iran, duh. The romance is over. Don’t be a retard.
Note that "Shipfinder" has the USS Preble at Yokusuka.
I wouldnt trust official statements by the DOD about such things.
Putin can't even prevent Ukrainian drones from destroying his infrastructure. He doesn't dare have his navy patrol the Black Sea.
But he's help Iran. Sure.
And Yes, Jim. About a dozen comments worth reading.
I've been looking for this data; the time series of missiles launched by Iran. Is it trending up or down? Answer: Down.
During yesterday’s briefing, Caine released some figures indicating the Iranians are losing their ability to fire ballistic missiles and drones: “As of this morning, U.S. Central Command is making steady progress. Iran’s theater ballistic missile shots fired are down 86 percent from the first day of fighting, with a 23 percent decrease just in the last 24 hours, and their one-way attack drone shots are down 73 percent from the opening days.”
"The romance is over. Don’t be a retard."
The romance only ever existed in your head.
“The romance only ever existed in your head.”
Maybe it’s time to take your head out of the sky and look around yourself.
Inga, do you still believe that Trump colluded with Russia to steal the 2016 election?
Buwaya, Japan surrendered unconditionally. The U.S. was run by practical men who told the emperor he could stay because these practical men understood that some continuity was necessary. Hirohito had no say in it. And Tojo swung from the end of the rope.
Unconditional Surrender means give up or the U.S. will kill every last one of you. The IRGC is a finite number. They know they lost.
"Buwaya, Japan surrendered unconditionally"
Ostensibly.
Buwaya,
The U.S. was ready to kill every last one of them.
If you want Unconditional Surrender then you have to be willing to kill all of them.
Israel won’t defeat the Palestinians until they show they are willing to kill Hamas whenever they are. If you can’t live with collateral damage, then it’s a waste of time.
"Your problem is you keep calling them Jews."
No that's a lie. You're the one that keeps bringing up jews all the time. But if you don't have an argument, what can you except smear and call names?
Here we are, defeating in detail, an enemy who has been at war with us for 47 years, with minimal casualties for our people and civilians (note to people whining and obsessed about 100 school girls - civilians ALWAYS suffer in war), and many among you are utterly miserable about the situation. Guess what? At the core, Americans are an aggressive and warlike people.
p.s. agree with Mosby about Iran's future
Trump's repeated calls for Iran's unconditional surrender—on the very same day he summons defense industry CEOs to an emergency meeting about military supplies—perfectly captures his grasp (or lack thereof) of ends and means.
"By March 4, Iranian missile attacks were down by 86 percent, and drone attacks were down 73 percent. Missile attacks fell because Iran is running low on missiles, and the U.S. and Israeli air forces have prioritized destroying missile launchers after they fire."
Bring on the ground invasion.
What do we got to lose, boomer?
YeewHaw! USA USA USA
Only some Democrats, PBS and NPR, and Iranians loyal to the AK Regime are upset about CURRENT EVENTS in IRAN. FREE IRAN.
Just yesterday multiple Democrats claimed Trump "had no exit strategy".
It's "a war of choice". F### yes it is, cry harder.
I heard also that Trump offered to get Jasmine Crockett a job at MickeyD's.
My belief is we will, in fact, be greeted as liberators. . . . I think it will go relatively quickly, . . . [in] weeks rather than months.
Dick Cheney
Adelman called it a cakewalk and it was till debaathification

I am perfectly happy with the idea of killing every single member of the gov't ruling Iran, and killing every single person who supports it
