"I slept with the guy who created it!"

This is a rare opportunity to use my old tag "charming bad logic."

And I enjoyed the garbled articulation: "The murders are going to be bad for workers."

LOL it’s rough to feel your boney fingers losing their grip on the msm. Seems she needed a few cocktails to weather the coming realignment.

“I slept with the guy” is the perfect summary for the left’s sense of entitlement to rule over the news.

Charming bad logic?

Brought to you from: nepo baby, Hanoi Jane pointing guns at US planes, profiteer selling knee-damaging high-step aerobics products, defender of Greta Tunbergian nonsense, plus a proponent of every Hollywood virtue fad.

Not "charming" bad logic at all. Leading impressionable lemmings to destruction logic.

I managed to watch the Conan open. The vibe I got was they wanted to roast their political enemies but had the sads because nobody was going to see them do it. I think I heard Conan’s voice break when he told the self deprecating joke about the movie audience leaving. The audience had belly laughs at his punchlines before that one that was met with a mix of silence and nervous laughter. They know they screwed themselves…

What is it about leftist women that makes them think getting d*cked by a famous dude makes their opinions special?

I'm not talking about the attention, fawning or otherwise, that often goes with being the paramour of somebody noteworthy but, as the quote suggests, letting him grab you gives you some special insight.

The age gap goes the wrong way for that to be effective.

Can Jane Fonda get hit by a bus? I don't want to be on death bed reading what 100 y/o Jane said about the current President in 2037. She's always been stupid, borderline mentally ill, and full of hate for the white working class. A perfect wife for Ted Turner.

RCOCEAN II said...

The idea that she knows the details of the merger or truly cares is absurd. CNN is far-left now, and will stay far-left. The only change will be a move to more Zionism. The head of AIPAC will be able to watch it without being annoyed.

I slept with the guy. Instead of I married the guy. Always vulgar & low class. And an attention whore.

I didn't watch the video, because the freeze frame picture of Jane with her tongue poking out is too perfect. It shows the vacuous concentration of an old age home resident looking for crumbs from the fried shrimp.

I dislike that woman intensely and resent her being considered a feminist icon. She spent much of her adult life just adapting herself into the identity of whatever man she was with at the time. I heard her interviewed years ago and realized she had serious daddy issues, which colored everything she said and did. Not someone for women to emulate.

Fred Drinkwater said...

Saint Croix, thanks, I'm going to look that one up.

Aggie said...

The reason Klute was such a good movie was more due to Donald Sutherland's low-key performance, than to Fonda's riffing off it.

When you saw Henry Fonda in Once Upon a Time in the West, I think you saw his essential coldness. It only peeks out from time to time in his other characters, and only in flashes. But I've read that it had a huge impact on both Jane and Peter.

“ I heard her interviewed years ago and realized she had serious daddy issues, which colored everything she said and did. Not someone for women to emulate.”

Apparently Hank, her father, was quite cold to his kids, and her, in particular, concentrating on his acting, and his women. He was, by far, the best actor of the Fonda family (though I do like his granddaughter’s work). Her first couple of husband’s apparently emotionally abused her, to the extent that she went nude in several (?) movies. Did this to get the male approval that her father never gave her. Something like that.

Not sure Jane would be all that welcome in Saigon (Fuck you, Ho).

Political window dressing aside, Saigon (and DaNang and ...)
are now capitalism on steroids. I have friendly relationships with a dozen or so Vietnamese - all from the south; some born here, some there.

All of them will tell you that the people in the south and north of the country are not the same. When I talk about my long-ago time there and plans to go back, they make no secret of approving my south-only itinerary. One went so far to say,
"If you go to Hanoi, watch-out up there."

It does? She looks and speaks and moves with ease of somebody decades younger. That exercise routine really paid off for her. Shame that she's such a libtard twit.

Did she get that blonde wig from the discard pile at the Goodwill store? Sheesh--she would have looked better with a bag over her head. As for her opinions? Well, like noses, she's got one.

Lazarus said...

I don't know how long Jane can use it as an excuse, but her mom did commit suicide. She was a massively troubled person, bipolar with a history of abuse. Henry Fonda's first wife also committed suicide. Both after the divorces. Maybe Henry was cold, or maybe he was just stumbling through life, oblivious to what was going on around him.

I think Jane suffered a lot from her scene with Brando and the stick of butter.

William said...

You never hear Jane say a bad word against Ted Turner. Now there's a guy who knew how to draft a NDA and make it stick.....I've never read any of Jane's memoirs, but, from what I've heard, she was less reticent about her other husbands. Any problems she's had with life were caused by them and her father.

William said...

She certainly looks good for a late stage octagenerian. This is either proof that God takes no active interest in human affairs or that it's possible to strike a bargain with the devil.

Her best role was Klute. She played a neurotic, high class call girl. She really nailed it. It was authentic down to the smallest mannerisms. It's a role she was born to play.

For some reason, Google keeps swallowing some of my comments. Here's my third attempt: Jane's best role was Klute. In that picture, she played a neurotic, high class hooker. She nailed that role down to the smallest mannerism. It was a role she was born to play. I bet she researched it thoroughly.

"Nepo Baby"

No, she was a box office star because of her looks and talent. A famous parent can get you a small role, but no studio is going to chance millions on giving a lead role to someone who can't handle it. And audiences are not going to see a film because of someone's famous parent. Ask Patrick Wayne, Scott Eastwood and countless other actors with famous parents who didn't have a career anywhere near as what Jane had.

Amexpat said...

It does? She looks and speaks and moves with ease of somebody decades younger.

I agrre with the looks but not they way she speaks. She started out OK with her prepared points but couldn't complete the sentence. That's when she blurtet out that she slept with the guy who created CNN.

She also had a rib removed for him, but that's best forgotten.

William said...

If she hadn't been so mistreated by the patriarchy, America, and her husbands, who knows what fame, success and happiness she might have achieved. Well, she did manage to achieve a modicum of success despite all the terrible blows she has suffered. She's an inspirational figure for all good looking children of rich celebrities.

William said...

Here's an interesting fact: Both Svetlana Stalin and Jane learned of their mother's suicide by reading about it in a magazine. Their fathers chose not to confide that fact to them. Both had fathers that were in some ways emblematic of the countries in which they lived. (Okay, Stalin more so than Henry Fonda, but Fonda was Young Abe Lincoln.) Both in later life were extremely alienated from their birth country.

Phaedrus said...

Eh… whatever. I have an Aunt that dated Ted Turner off and on before she married some English lord and moved into a castle in Scotland; later divorced… she’s been married several times and not for money; she did well with her inheritance…

She had good things to say about Turner but not so much about Fonda, who Turner told her was a bit out there, even for him. But anecdotes from her relationship with Ted are as meaningful as Fonda’s about same which is absolutely worthless, pretty much like CNN is these days.

I would add, Christiane Amanpour is really the only thing left at CNN worth saving in terms of on-air talent. She has knowledge.and a perspective that may be limited in certain ways, but she is a genuinely informed and an intelligent interviewer. I wouldn't be surprised if she was one of the first people to be encouraged to retire under a Bari Weiss regime.

A lot of these other figures are more like "news readers". They have an incredibly narrow view on issues, little historical perspective, and their interview subjects also tend to be incredibly low quality. Many of their "experts" on foreign affairs and domestic policy have fairly blatant undisclosed financial interests in the subjects that they talk about.

The domestic news coverage is mildly critical of Trump, but that's about the only good thing that could be said of theentire operation. I hesitate to really call it a "news" operation. It is more like a public relations shop masquerading as a news channel. Granted this is pretty typical of a lot of the broadcast and cable news in the U.S.

"Rabel said...Wow. Fonda's not aging well."

Lol... Tough crowd here. Gentlemen, the woman was born 6 months after the Hindenburg disaster. She was born on the same day that the very first animated feature film premiered, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. I only hope that if I live to be her age that I will be as active, aerobic and alert as she is.

Fonda was upset that the had Bab Striesand give the euology on Robert Redford instead of her. "I did 4 pictures with him, Striesand did only one". Fonda-Redford were co-stars over 14 year period. Gotta give her credit, she's right on this one.

But of course, at this point who under 60 cares?

I used to have to show up at the airport early in the AM. 5AM I walk in the Delta lounge and the big TV has Amanpour covering the Ayatollah's fatwas in 4K like the meeting was a cross between CSPAN and Princess Di's wedding...
