UPDATE: The video is just old-time cross-country skiing. We're still waiting on the new ski mountaineering. Maybe it will be "impressive," maybe it won't. But don't be pre-impressed by what is new. For now, just be newly impressed by what is old.Running uphill on skis at a sub six minute pace is ridiculous. pic.twitter.com/foUaDNAO1K

Jesse Kelly replayed Leftist American media asking and pressuring some of the Olympic contestants for their anti-Trump anti-ICE stances. So gross.
Wow!
On skis. Impressive. +no penis size inflation cheating, either.
Phew!! I’m exhausted!!
That's not ski mountaineering; it's just old-fashioned cross-country skiing, specifically, the Men's Sprint Classic.
Are those standard X-country skis or are there treads of some variety that grip the snow to provide forward traction?
An Olympic sport contrivance.
Next: Olympic snow angel-making...
I see the skis, but not the mountain. But amazing none the less.
I believe the traction is provided by removable climbing skins which have a short, directional "fur" that lies down when the ski glides forward, but stands up when the ski tries to slide back.
Yeah, as @Nate says, that the classic cross country skiing sprint which I watched earlier today. An American, Ben Ogden, won silver.
That is impressive. How did they get Robin Leach to do the commentary?
I'm not sure who wrote the lede for this blog post... but it definitely wasn't Clay Travis. The video is Norwegian skier Johannes Klæbo cross-country skiing uphill as part of the race course.
Classic cross-country skiing is not the same as ski mountaineering. These are two completely distinct disciplines/events.

As an aside: Jake Paul's girlfriend Jutta Leerdam set the Olympic record in the 1,000-meter race and won the gold medal. broke the Olympic record in the 1,000-meter speed skating final last night.
The flat sections are even more wild ... all double polling. Racers do not do the old 'diagonal stride.'
Klaebo is probably the nordic ski GOAT. He's favored to win every event he enters.
American Ben Ogden took silver in that same classic sprint that Klæbo won.
Even would be better if contestants ran uphill in sneakers.

How do we know this wasn’t filmed at an angle sort of like the old Batman TV series where they were “climbing” a building’s exterior?
What’s next? Pole vaulting on skis?

Broke her pants in practice, too.

A roommate in college was an elite runner in middle and high school. He was driving by a local golf course one winter. The golf course was used as a cross country ski area in the winter if there was snow, complete with ski rentals. The day he drove by they were holding a race. On a lark he stopped and entered the race. He had never skied before and merely ran on the skies. He won the race easily. Roy would have liked this competition.
That guy blasted up that hill!

NBC‘s social media properties are promoting Eileen Gu as much if not more than team USA athletes.
Eileen Gu was born, raised, and trained in America, has an American father, goes to Stanford…
But renounced her US citizenship and skis for China because the CCP paid her to.

You do understand that those skis can't go backwards. It's still pretty impressive.
They never show the snow groomer on their tail.
For this kind of ski racing they use kick wax, and not "skins". Selecting and applying the correct wax is an art bordering on voodoo. When the snow is cold or new, the wax is harder, and when you apply it it's like coloring with a giant crayon. When the snow is warmer or older, the wax used is a softer, more gooey variety that comes in a tube and has the consistency of honey.
