I feel like your post title is intended to be sarcastic? I would think getting a signed copy of the Bible from a sitting President would be very meaningful to anybody. Can you imagine the thrill of getting one from Obama (or from historic-first-woman-President Clinton, should that have come to pass)? No one would criticize the recipient of finding that meaningful.

There are a number of occasions where bibles are an appropriate gift, but all are family/religious events. And if you want to sign it, you sign the inside, not the cover. Unless you’re the author.
