Covid was a crash-course in the "Consensus Theory of Science" in the sense that it was literally the consensus train hitting a concrete wall with an earth-shattering kaboom.

Needs to stenciled in every STEM classroom:
"The work of science has nothing whatever to do with consensus. Consensus is the business of politics. Science, on the contrary, requires only one investigator who happens to be right, which means that he or she has results that are verifiable by reference to the real world. In science consensus is irrelevant. What is relevant is reproducible results. The greatest scientists in history are great precisely because they broke with the consensus. There is no such thing as consensus science. If it’s consensus, it isn’t science. If it’s science, it isn’t consensus. Period.” - Michael Crichton

"You don't want militarized people in the streets snatching up people...U.S. citizens (without) papers on them.
Are we really gonna be the Gestapo?
'Where's your papers?' Is that what we've come to?"
- J. Rogan

So now people who should’ve known what Trump was all about are crying about policies they should’ve tried to stop by not voting for Trump/Naziism/Facism. Why didn’t it dawn on them sooner that Trump was capable of this stuff and a great many people who voted for him wanted this to happen. Just like during Nazi Germany the good Germans who loved Hitler denied there was any such places as concentration camps, or hated Jews so much they were on board with Nazi policies.

We’re seeing history being repeated. And yes those of you who haven’t had an awakening by now are no different than the “good patriotic Germans” in the Nazi era. Shame on you for doing this to the USA.

This is from Cynical Publius:
“Listed below are attributes and practices that all 20th Century fascists have in common with the Democrat Party of 2025:
1. Laws promoting the seizure of guns from law-abiding citizens and/or the denial of gun ownership rights for law-abiding citizens.
2. Censorship of free speech by pretending such censorship protects the citizenry from faulty information (i.e., so-called "disinformation").
3. Government control of industry.
4. Government control of the mass media.
5. Control of the entertainment industry as a means of propaganda. (See: Leni Riefenstahl; Walt Disney Corporation.)
6. Children belong to the State and not their parents.
7. Political dissidents and opposing political leadership are to be persecuted for fabricated "crimes" under the color of law through the courts.
8. Political dissidents are locked up for months/years without a trial.
9. Leading political opponents who are a threat to the fascist order are to be assassinated.
10. Extreme nationalism (Democrats hate the United States of America, but are extreme nationalistic zealots for the Woke States of America).
11. Purposeful division of the population along racial and ethnic lines as a means to power.
12. Leadership of the ruling fascist party is chosen by party leaders without any input from rank-and-file party members, but an illusion of democracy is perpetuated. (See: Kamala as nominee with zero votes.)
13. Certain party criminals are turned into martyrs upon their demise. (See: Horst Wessel; Saint George Floyd.)
14. Destruction of statues, symbols and art of the pre-fascist order.
15. Accuse dissidents of the very crimes you yourself commit.
16. Justify all of it for the "common good."
The Democrat Party of 2025 is a fascist party. Spread the word.”

I just finished the Bradley Cooper interview. I don’t listen regularly to Rogan, especially compared to a couple of other podcasts. However, I’m glad I listened to that one. Not sure about Rand Paul. I still don’t care for politicians, even though I filled out my paperwork for re-election today.

Is there a specific aspect of Paul's discussion with Rogan that you are highlighting? It's 3 hours.

The Gestapo detained/arrested people and asked people to identify themselves.
ICE detains/arrests people and asks them to identify themselves. The San Francisco Police Department detains people and asks them to identify themselves. As do ALL police departments. It's a basic part of law enforcement. That does not make them "Gestapo."
We have something called "probable cause" here in the USA.
I would like to believe that Joe Rogan is sharp enough to understand the distinction.

Rand Paul-another word salad king, another typical politician, who promises everything, delivers nothing, and only gives a damn when he gets your vote.
3 hours of listening to the usual BS from politicians, nope. Paul is just another trump hater pretending to care about America.

Eva - 5:47
excellent list.
Democrats are the actual fascists. Their behavior tells the story.

One thing that really struck me in the podcast (I haven't finished it, yet. It is fascinating.) is the amount of advertising. I get this through the Apple podcast app, and, it is clear they knew the attraction this episode would have. The ads are numerous, and annoying.

Rand Paul's libertarianism is built upon some very good ideas about human autonomy and the reasons for limitations on state power. The problem is that libertarians refuse to acknowledge the propensity of humans to game the libertarian system. Nihilism beats libertarianism 10 times out of 10. Only ferocious pragmatism has a a chance against nihilism.

Libertarians understanding of human nature is even worse than progressives understanding of human nature.

When I went to a private screening at Warner Bros. I parked in his parking spot. I didn't get yelled at.

This would actually be awesome.
