In the last few months we've seen the closure of an Anheuser Busch plant in Fairfield (California), closure of a Del Monte plant in Modesto, closure of a gas refinery in Benicia, and an announcement that Coke will be closing all their bottling plants in California and replacing them with a new heavily automatized single plant. And that's just what I've heard about. Meanwhile the SFGate website has a column called 'The Exodus from California is Over' where the data to support the headline is (250)K net emigration in 2023 vs (225)K in 2024.

The Benicia refinery is the second refinery to close in California in the last eight months, taking out roughly 20% of capacity. This relates to California's push to all electric cars with a 2035 cut off for sales of gas powered cars I believe. One of the plans to replace all this refinery capacity (no other company will buy into Cali in the foreseeable future so the plants will likely sit for awhile) is to buy finished product gasoline from India, one of the few countries that can make California special blend gas. That's the chaser. The shot is India gets their oil raw material from..........Russia.

France banned mail-in voting in 1975 – due to fraud
Mexico banned mail-in voting in1992 – due to fraud
Belgium banned mail-in voting in 2018 – due to fraud
Sweden does not permit mail-in voting
Italy does not permit mail-in voting
Ukraine does not permit mail-in voting
Russia does not permit mail-in voting
Japan does not permit mail-in voting
No Middle Eastern country permits mail-in voting

Nevada and Arizona are in the nasty position of getting most of their refined petroleum products from California. These will be in shorter and shorter supply as refineries shut down. The governors of Nevada and Arizona have advised Newsom that this puts their states in a tight spot. He won't budge. But his dream of an all-electric CA might fail on the fact that 25% of LA's electricity comes from .... Arizona. And it's all he can do now to keep the lights on.
